Still watch this clip daily. I love seeing them do "Mr.Postman" live. I love when Karen folds her arms at the end of the song. Really miss her. Love You Karen! Thanks for posting this clip!

Great to see this part of a Carpenters concert with their greatest hit "Please Mr. Postman". We also can already see her sickness ... heaven, I miss the Carpenters so much!

WOW! never (and i'm a monumental carpenters/karen carpenter fan!) heard karen hold a note any note that long before! and notice she DID NOT even take a breath before she sang this long note! incredible!... on a sidenote, that guy she was singing to was pretty darn handsome and hot! lol!

Yes, Doug Strawn. They all were in college together at CSULB (Long Beach, CA) & Doug played with them from those early years all the way until her passing in 1983. He played several instruments for them through the years, and depending on what song, he would occasionally sing duets with her. He and Karen did a cute duet that is shown in the 1972, Australia concert, "Cinderella Rockafella". He also sings lead on "Johnny B. Goode" in the 1974 Japan concert. Great guy!

Me too! Been a fan since day one when I was a little kid.Karen had such a warm and friendly voice and personality.I clung to every word she spoke.I think I would of been in shock to be that close to her.Love her so much! It would of been a dream come true! I had a crush on Richard so he would of been right there to!

It's a shame, she's so thin but her outfit makes her bottom half look very large. I imagine when she saw pictures of this, it only added to her body dysmorphia. What a vicious circle.
