Saber really mentions 'fighting for her' Is this because his love language is acts of service? ....or just because that's all there was to the chemistry lMAOOOOO
Mickey and Minnie deserve to be S-tier because (1) they're the original cartoon couple, (2) for a long time they were voiced by ACTUAL married couple Wayne Allwine and Russi Taylor (May these legends rest in peace), and (3) Disney says that they aren't married on-screen, but are married in their private life (AWWW!).
I know that the Finn and FP break up was for Finn's character development but it was still such an upsetting episode. I wasn't even able to finish it the moment he talk about reenacting his stupid wet dream. I just knew it would go bad.
Yeah, I clicked on this video thinking they were gonna be on the list. I would love if he could do a review on the show, but sadly it's very underrated :(
the prince on Cinderella and Snow Withe actually do have names! Even if never mentioned, Snow White's is names "Florian" and Cinderella's is named Henry
Heck, Rapunzel's original version is practically worse, she's basically r*ped because she doesn't understand what sex really is. And then has the guy's babies, eventually leaves and he magically has his sight restored (because the witch tricked him and his eyes were gouged out by thorn bushes)
Lady and the Tramp deserves A tier not B tier. They overcame social class and inner prejudices. Tramp gave up his past womanizing behaviors for Lady while Lady recognized her pride from the privileges given by having a family. Lady softens up in the pound with the other dogs and Tramp is willing to sacrifice himself for the baby because of what the baby means to Lady--both things they'd never have done as their previous versions before meeting each other. A-tier couple 💜
22:55 last year I re wached a LOT of regular show, and Margaret and Mordecai were effectively not as bad as I remembered together, they actually have very good back and forth going on, and actively have good chemistry, their short time together was nice and MOST of their issues are more around the "getting to be a couple" and "how it was handled afterwards" cus Mordecai went NUTS (he kinda just sucked at romance in many ways) but them themselves, their relationship as it was, it wasnt really bad, it was even kinda nice and good, they end up in good terms, the vibe around it of course over all feels negative cus it was a kind of pain to get there and get out of there, but they themselves aren't bad together, it just didn't work out I feel like, if Margaret hadn't had to leave they probably would have stayed together for years Which I find SO interesting cus actively as a community we remember Mordecai and CJ as a much better couple, and they do have great chemistry but IN relationship, as they functioned together, both with Cjs anger issues and Mordecai being wishy washy BS I think they were very actively a worse couple, but we remember it differently and feel different about it cus of storytelling
Hi saber! I made a little comic of one of the moments in this video. I’m not sure where would be a good place to share it to so people in the community could see it.
1:33:47 I've been watching Fairly Oddparents: A New Wish and I think they fixed almost all the issues they had, returning them to an A-Tier level they'd be without flanderization.
My most hated tropes in media are "will-they-won't-they" and "love triangles". Just the endless tip-toeing and games, they need to stop. Then again, I think media could do with a lot more polycules.
I agree with the polycules! Every time i see a "love triangle" I just say "you know what would fix this? Sitting down and working out a healthy balanced poly dynamic!"
Finn's crush on PB was tough. She was aware of his feelings, but refused to acknowledge them until it hurt him. For her to want to have a say in his relationship with FP was a slap to the face. Finn and FP had a lot of boundaries in their relationship, many of which they couldn't overcome. It's tragic end was simply because Finn wanted more than she could really give him. We don't see much of Huntress Wizard, but I think she'd do well with Finn. She wants a relationship with him, while keeping a distance. This could become the kind of casual relationship that allows people to live their independent lives, but have a safe space to fall back to, and I think that's something that Finn desperately needs.
I think sleeping beauty deserved a low C, it wasn’t D enough for me. Wade and Ember deserved better, they were really just perfect. I love them, adorable.
To me, Hiccstrid will always be S-Tier. While the movies do a great job, "Race To The Edge", having more time than the movies, really made me fall in love with them as a couple beyond just "aw, look, they're so cute together" (honestly, RTTE is just a peak show in general).
I only learned a few years ago Jessica Rabbit is argued to be asexual, an icon for the community. Kind of like Cofi from Chikin Nugget: a sheep in wolf's clothing, since Jessica seems bad, but as she says, "I'm just drawn that way,"
1:31:50 I'm not a super stand for Kiff and Amy nor anything but just in case anyone is curious, Amy doesn't ever really "cheat" on Kiff exactly, On the Zapp thing Kiff was literally dead and he took advantage of her mourning his loss, and on the bender thing, Kiff had broken up with her (although for very fair reasons she do was stepping on his boundaries and being kinda "flirty" w ""bad boys"") and after the break up she and Bender hook up for a little bit Not the best couple nor anything, they have some set of problems that I enjoy seeing while being IN the relationship instead of focusing in how to get there
Wish someone had the whole clip that they were referencing with the hot dog eating contest. The upload I found showed most of it, but cut out Death vomiting, only showing afterwards where he's declared the loser
The DuckTales Reboot was the healthiest their relationship has been portrayed as so far. Meaning there is still a lotta media out there, including the ongoing european comics, where their relationship ranges from "meh" to "bad" to "toxic af", depending on the writer. Honestly, as someone who has been a Duckverse fan since before I could read, I think their placement on the list was rather generous.
The fact they don’t have Ben Tennyson and Julie Yamamoto from Ben 10, really says that they never seen ben 10 have there been any single comments talk about that they forgot or what?
Their biggest connection was that they actually have chemistry, unlike with Mako. Also, magic x science, bending x technology, blue x red, Avatar x non-bender. Also, korrasami is S tier.
I love Arnold and Helga so much yall have to understand why helga became a bully in the first place her home life is beyond shit with terrible parents who don’t care about her in the slightest and when Arnold complimented her she absolutely loved it because he was the one who showed her how to be loved and was nice to her! Unfortunately Harold and everyone else made fun of her and that’s why she became a bully she’s afraid of being rejected! The creator of the show said that Arnold and helga will get married and be just like Arnold’s grandparents! Saber I bet you forgot that Gertie was Phil’s school bully when they were in school! Arnold x helga= best couple ever!!!!!!!
My problem with Woody and Bo is how it developed. You don't see much of them in 1 or 2, but you can tell they care for each other. Then she's missing from 3, but you can tell Woody still cares. And then, TS4 happened... Bo is honestly kinda toxic towards Woody throughout the film, and yet they STILL get together in the end. I remember the movie came out the year before I got out of a toxic relationship, and then I saw a video on it AFTER getting out of it, and it really made me go "you know what, yeah, this WAS pretty terrible." I mean honestly, TS4 was terrible in general, but it really didn't do any favors for Woody and Bo. A or B for TS1-2, F tier for TS4.
It had sweet moments (the lost girl finding Gabby Gabby always gets me teary eyed, such a simple interaction, but very reflective of what Toy Story's message about children and their dynamic with toys and play), but yeah, it feels so random, though Bo Peep was basically nonexistent overall, more just a damsel in distress and then we get a rushed explanation about how she basically became a stray toy
My favorite couples are (IDK if adaptions is cheating) gomez and morticia Lumity hiccup and astrid Robin/Sttarfire Raven/Beast Boy Beastboy /Terra Nightwing / Batgirl Superman /Lois Homer/Marge Finn / Huntress Wizard Kim / Ron Star / Tom Marco Diaz / Kelly Sam / Luna Lincoln / Ronie Anne The boonchuys Aang / Katara Olivia & Yunan Donatello / April hunter / Willow Spider-Man / Mary Jane Helga / Arnold Velma /Hotdog Water Simon / Betty Pinkie Pie / Cheese Danny and Sam 'Phineas and Isabella Yumi and Ulrik Alita and Jeromy Marinate and Adrian alya and Nino Goliath and Alisa David Xanatose and Fox Aladin and Jasmine Frey and Lila Amy and Kiff Babs and Buster Bunny pre-reboot
49:55 Of course that catradora will also get negative response... When characters become enemies and aren't actually in relationship, how can their not-actual-relationship be toxic? Also putting catradora in IDK tier?! WTF? After admitting that you didn't even watch show? What?!
I mean, they literally said at the beginning that IDK-tier is for couples from shows they don't watch... Honestly, as a Catdora fan myself, I rather have that then see 'em in anything below A...
34:05 You didn't watch the rest of The Legend of Korra?! Horrendously underrated and misunderstood show btw. Book 1 (12 episodes) is basically a self-contained mini series that has a plot similar to The Dark Knight Rises. Books 2, 3, and 4 (40 episodes) made a 3-part story arc that is basically a REVERSE ATLA story arc. Also, korrasami is S tier. Fun fact: Love triangle 2.0 in Book 2 happened because creators wanted to get rid of makorra, which happened only because during production of Book 1, they weren't sure that they would get more seasons. Wow... some horrendous anti-TLOK, anti-Korra and anti-korrasami "arguments", mostly the same tiresome shit from over 9 years ago... Maybe I will respond to them later here...
This is a hot take, but I personally feel that Marceline and Bubblegum are overrated, I understand why people like them, but I just don’t like Bubblegum as a whole, and I feel like Marceline could do better, but that’s just my opinion, other than that and a few things other thing, like not seeing enough of Regular Show to know fulling of Rigby and Eileen’s relationship to know if they’re the best couple, I do agree with most of the choices here.
PB and MArceline are practically the only 2 that work together in terms of the world they exist in: both are functionally immortal. They're both messed up, but the show acknowledges that, they even have a fight in the Obsidian special as I recall.
Anyone else frustrated with the number of F/F couples in modern cartoons? Not because it's LGBT or anything - but because studios feel like it's the 'safer' way to go with same-sex couples. I can probably count the number of M/M relationships on one hand and it pisses me off! >:/
