Dude this wasn’t bad, I actually really like the characters in this. Plus it was pretty consistently funny. It may look cheap but honestly I found it to be very charming
I am going to be very honest, (and I am legitimately serious with this statement) I actually don’t hate “Gaithers Pond”. In fact I think it’s one of the better Christian cartoons (besides Veggietales of course) Yes the CGI is HORRIFIC, most of the songs are not needed (in the first cartoon, I have not watched any of the other episodes), and the writing could’ve been less on the nose. But I actually don’t mind the characters that much (I actually like how the main protagonist Gaither is kind of a d%€k, instead of being pitch perfect), at its core is a good message, and it didn’t feel overly preachy.
love the shiny silver robot the most 'We haven't been officially brainwashed' 'There's nothing wrong with me!' and of course the goth employee girl@@KiboSanti
@@MrTony-rx7tk Cory Edwars also voiced Twitchy and Shinyman 5000, he also directed the fourth and final Gaither's Pond episode and a Netflix movie by Vanguard animation called Fe@rless but he didn't voiced any characters of both films he did
This movie actually wasn’t bad compared to Gaither’s other works. The animation quality has somewhat improved, the jokes landed nicely, and I actually grown to kinda like the humanoid robot character.
I can't get over the fact that a movie that has orphan child labor in it, instead focuses on christmas and almost completely ignores the child slavery in it. Like, what? I thought for sure they would get adopted or somthing but nah, they just gotta keep being miserable lol.
Similar to how Nickelodeon and O Entertainment did with Jimmy Neutron and Barnyard, starting as theatrically released pilot episode movies before becoming shows
I remember watching this movie when i was about 3-5 years old. I recently remembered a couple of scenes and have been looking for it for years now. Than you so much Saber ❤
40:11 That is genius yet kinda cursed reference. But honestly despite the animation being very dated I didn't think this movie / special was that bad. I am a little biased because my cousin ACTUALLY had it on DvD and I have small nostalgia but the jokes in english version and the songs are actually well made. And if you compare it to Gaither's Pond then it doesn't even look bad at all (also it was a 2004 movie and not everyone had the 3D of Pixar).
Compared to all the other stuff we’ve watched on this channel this, while definitely violating copyright laws, this isn’t that bad some of the jokes actually got a real laugh mostly from silver guy
Holy shit I remember this movie, I watched it a lot when I was at my grandmas place. Also fun fact, one of the distribution companies for this was a subsidiary of FUNIMATION! I am not Bullshiting. It’s called Our Time Family Entertainment.
Yo ! I remember watching this movie as a kid, it really surprises me to find out that movie that I bought on the supermarket or something like that have a lot of lore behind them like “this movie was the first cgi movie made in Soviet Union” or something like that
Nothing says Christmas like an orphan sweat shop breaking out into song. [edit] though the animation is crap, music is subpar, voice acting is tolerable. However, the script and dialogue is not half bad. I got a few good chuckles. It's the class clown of a 3D animation class made a movie.
Oh my gosh, I've been looking for this movie everywhere, I used to watch this when I was younger, tho I remembered it looking a lot better. I actually like the movie, probably because of the nostalgia
This one movie for some reason cemented "wobots" in my brain. Nothing else about the movie except for the one scene where the kid trumphantly mispronounces the word How the HELL did this get onto canadian TV?
32:13 y'know considering how this was one of those Christian Kids' movies, it wouldn't surprise if they went for... that... with their villain (Psalty the singing songbook did the same thing basically)
Maybe I just have low standards, but this doesn't seem that bad of a movie. I mean, it's early CGI, so things definitely look rough. But at the same time, some of the jokes were funny, some of the songs were (regrettably) catchy, and it honestly wasn't even that preachy. Like, the Christian messaging wasn't even that in-your-face. Granted, they become believers the second they learn about Jesus, but then outside of it taking place on Christmas, they don't even mention Christianity. They go back to save the day because "they understand the true meaning of Christmas" and because the villain was gonna kidnap and enslave orphans. That said, the biggest problem by far is how the villain is coded to be Jewish, with his villain song even following the tune of a famous Jewish folk song. If it weren't for this massive problem, I could see myself liking it as a kid in a similar manner to Veggietales. But then, I'd definitely choose Veggietales over this if given the choice at that age.
So your one issue with it is that you *think* the religion that explicitly teaches that Jews are God's chosen people and should never be antagonized, and that shares most of its religious texts with religious Jews... is racially mocking Jews?
Y'know, compared to Benjy's past works, this is actually watchable? Like, it still has that cheap Gaither feel with the head movements when the humans speak (tilting, unnecessary swelling, etc.), but it actually isn't horrible? Certainly not as bad as Gaither's Pond and *infinitely* better than Dorbees. Maybe, with a higher budget and some fine tuning, this could've actually been a short series.
Both this and Gaither's Pond were released in 2004. THIS as a 2004 movie - or rather a christmas special because I think it was supposed to be TV series - that was not made by Pixar doesn't even look that bad at all. A few animation errors were there but the models aren't as horrible as anything in Gaither's Pond.
Overall, it was worth the wait (5 years, Jesus). Comedy was the highlight, and the characters were honestly pretty memorable. The animation was mediocre and there was definitely some errors. But in the end, an enjoyable movie.
I think I’ve found what they’re talking about..? By the left hand side of the robots head, blocked by it in some frames, a star flicks a bit, not sure though..
ok, it was bad, but like... in an earnest way? like as if a group of college students had a passion project to make a movie, and they only had 20 dollars to either make it, or order a pizza, but they ordered the pizza and still made the movie anyway.
