Nice selections of IH tractors. I have a IH 464d high crop . I have a few issues and need some parts where should l start? I live in SW Central Florida. I just purchased an IH 1850 front loader for this tractor. But not installed it yet.
I know that this an old thread but I just found it. I am new to tractors I recently bought a 395 Case IH and my problem is that the differential lock is stuck in the lock position. Any tips or ideas on how to free this up with out a tear down and if not how hard is it to get to the problem. Thanks in advance. Tom
I’ve seen this a few times, I would start by unhooking the linkage from the pedal. Sometimes it rusts and won’t move on it’s own. Then underneath check if the linkage into the transmission is free and moves.
It would be a handy little tractor for haying! Especially if you put a aftermarket SSL style quick change on the loader so you could quickly change from bucket to spear!
use the brown scotch brite pad on the loader to get the chalk layer of paint scuffed up and wipe with denatured alcohol, then hit it with a couple coats of clear to preserve. it will look great and you can paint it later if desired.this also works great on plastic shift or any colored control knobs,3pt,loader,range etc.when you wear the clear off the knobs just scuff and repeat.
Close. It’s the right and left turn signal. The 4 ways they had on the rotary switch. I think it was the first series they offered right and left turn signals other than just flashers
If you go back through my videos I did a part 1 and part 2 of utility series tractors and the common issues they have. Should help answer some questions for you hopefully
Good day. I don't know what the switch is for. When you put shuttle into reverse, it's faster, I read your not suppose use in high range. It's suppose go 21 mph in high reverse Thanks
Merry Christmas to you!! Not looking forward to the snow, though my wife and kids are. lol Tractor runs good. Since you are good at finding equipment, do you know of any 5 ton or larger lime spreaders for sale? Looking for something older, but decent condition. Thanks!!
Thanks for the link. The units I found were far away from me, but were priced between $2,000-$3000 (they needed minor repairs though). I would like to stay under $5,000.
Jake Ziegler I have to check into the filters. Normally one is a water separator. This has 2 of the same filter. The switch is the right and left turn signals. It was the first of the utility series to offer turn signals. Diff lock is still a mechanical pedal.
TheCustomFarmer I thought of that too. That’s how it came. I looked behind the dash and there are no wires in the switch. Also when I put the 4 ways on, the fuel gauge and temp gauge go up and down
