I am looking at a brake job to fix lost fluid and brake function on a 1466. This video nails it, very descriptive and video covers what I need to do. Thanks
Excellent video. The only comment I would make is when refitting the brake piston, make up a couple of plates to use as a kind of press to make sure the piston goes in square and even. Real easy to cut the new 0-rings if this gets skewed on the way in.
Thanks, we've got a 574 which hasn't been used since 2016 and I know those seals can fail, I don't know if you done a hand brake band video and (possibly the weakest design on theses 74series tractors but that's on our list to do, thanks alot 👍
I ma glad you enjoyed the video. This series really were a great tractor, well built and comfortable to use, but like you say the hand brake was problematic. I don't have a video on replacing the hand brake band, I haven't had the misfortune of replacing one yet. :)
I haven't worked on a 856 so I'm not sure but if i'm not mistaken they are mechanical brakes. The actuators are likely rusted and seized up. I think they should be similar to the following video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7vDgr-9QqwY.html
This would be relevent for an 844 right? Where is the park brake assembly and how does one service it? Mines worn right out. Also has no brake pressure anymore, leaking all the fluid out
Good afternoon CR I have a International 624. The left side wheel locks up on slippery ground when I depress the brakes if you get a chance to make a suggestion of the problem , much appreciate your knowledge and experience.
With the mechanical brakes it's hard to get them set even so that both wheels get equal braking, I expect that the left side is getting more braking pressure when you use both pedals. Thanks for watching!
Follow the advice from your video, got the axle housings off all the O-rings replaced on both sides and everything put back together but we can't get the right brake to pump up. Any ideas or suggestions
Wonder if you can help I have an ih885 prior to case merger an L cab model do the brakes have there own fluid resivour or do they draw hydraulic fluid off the back end?? And secondly when bleeding read somewhere to bleed brakes u need to clamp return lines ? Any help would be greatly appreciated 👍
I'm not aware of any return lines and the brakes feed from the hydraulic system. You will need someone to pump the brakes while you open the bleed screws like any other brakes and I expect you will want the tractor running to be sure the system gets oil. Thanks for watching!
That looks like an international? Realises my David brown search has failed :o) But, I have done these and they are mad reliable. The O Ring can go between the rear casting and hydraulic housing where the bleed screw is, so change those very time to pop that housing. All the steel pipes chafe through, so rubber them up and clip em’ down. *Also, there is a flow divider valve for steering and it jams. Pull its bottom plug, put a bucket under there and blast it out on full revs. Then fine sand paper. It is genuinely a solid back end :D
Hi Dave I enjoy your Videos, I have a IH884 with a ZF all wheel I need the part number for that small half moon snap ring that holds the master break cylinder to the metal plate because I lost it where can I get one in the US it is not listed in parts diagram. Thank you
If you can carefully get the clip off the other cylinder you can take it to a machine shop for comparison, I expect that would be the best bet. Thanks for watching!
Many thanks for a great video. I've it watched several times, before attempting this repair on my 484. Everything went well, until I tried to install the large, inner "O" ring on the face of the bearing race component. There just isn't enough shoulder on the "O" ring recess to hold the "O" ring in place while installing the unit--it keeps slipping off the shoulder. Any advice on how to make it stay in place would be greatly appreciated.
I expect there is a special tool to help start it, try cutting a large ice-cream tub or similar plastic to fit around the oring to get it started, then you could pull it out. Thanks for watching!
Hola buen dia. Tengo un tractor internacional 784 . Y quiero aumentar la precion hidráulico. Me podría desir cual es la valbula de alivio y como ajustarla .gracias
I don;t think there is any way to adjust the relief valve. If your pressure is low it's most likely the hydraulic pump that is causing the trouble> Thanks for watching!
You have to split the tractor between the transmission and differential cases, everything will be visible then and you will see how to change them out. Thanks for watching!
Hi , i love your video's you make everything look so easy lol. I have a 585 international and the brakes are excellent ,but the hand brake doesn't work . the cable is good. where do i go from here please?
The cable can be tightened in the lever to tighten the band around the drum. If adjusting the cable doesn't work you will have to replace the brake band. Thanks for watching!
I have a 574 that needs parking brake rebuilt and my brakes go to the floor but will pump up and slide the tire. I'd like to see a video on parking brake rebuild and one on the brake master cylinders.
If I have a parking brake repair come up I will certainly do a video, they are a pain to get to as it is in the differential case on the pinion shaft. If you can pump your brakes up it is likely the o-rings on the inside end of the axle housings that are leaking. I have a video on that here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yKRVcPHcazA.html . If you have any questions feel free to ask. Thanks for watching and good luck!
I have a issue with my 844xl rear end. I have had a noice from the left side on the rear end. Which ended up with a total look up the other day. I did manage to unlock it by reversing hard.. Now it´s a really noice and i have not driving any more. Without even taking it apart. What would your guess be. Brakes or planetary drive?
@@CanadianRedneck15 Ok. That was a quick answer. I actually bought a 956 rear end the yesterday. They to look a just little bit different. Not much. Would you know if i can use it for parts. Or maybe replace the complete rear end? Thanks for answering.
I've never heard of that happening before, there would have to be some kind of oil pressure leaking into the brake system, possibly where the oil feeds the master cylinders? Another possibility would be broken bits of a brake disk piling up. Thanks for watching!
I am not sure but if you check in at partstore.caseih.com/us/index.html?csid=95b3fdc68521dc7bf5e844b7149d4b98&sl=EN¤cy= you will be able to see the parts break down. Thanks for watching!
Hi I have a international 885xl that keeps hoping out of gear I have adjusted to linkage and no good what do you think is wrong any help would be appreciated
If the linkage is adjusted so that the gear is fully engaging the most likely problem is that the gear is worn so the gear and syncronizer will need to be replaced. You can see the parts break-down at partstore.caseih.com . Good luck and thanks for watching!
You are correct, split the tractor at the engine, then the transmission comes off of the rear case and, of course, the cab has to come off first just to add some fun to the job. It's not a terribly difficult job but it is a fairly large job. Let us know how you make out, good luck!
There may be some brass washers in the differential carriers but the main source of brass would be the synchronisers in the speed transmission. Thanks for watching!
