It was our main tractor for our dairy farm - it did everything from running the haybine, raking, baling, running the forage wagons, chopping with the flail chopper twice a day, planting corn, planting grain, spraying, and spreading manure. I think we had somewhere around 3600 hours on it when we shut down and it still had the original tires (we had the wider ones on the front) and clutch. We also had a 684 4x4 with a loader and a 3288 but this was still the first choice for everything it could do. Great tractor.
Can you explain the function of the lever below the 3 pt quandrant controls? It’s the lever with the strange bend it it and it’s a lot longer than the other two. I have a 585 and I’m having trouble getting the 3 point to operate how I want and I think the problem is with that lever. When I have the 3 point lever raised up it the implement doesn’t go up unless I push the lower lever with the bend in it down and then it raises to the top and then it’s almost like it’s a timed pump procedure or something because then it “clicks” off again and doesn’t respond like other tractors I’ve used
My uncle has a CASE international with Cab 685 from the 80’s .... there are a few things I would love to know ...if anyone can help... the top of the hood of tractor when you take panel off there is a white container .. what is that? Also there is a dipstick at the rear of tractor what is this? Finally, there has been some drip stains on gravel and have no idea where it is coming from? Please help... I referred to the manual but it’s very confusing.
Have a 1990 885. I think it is the d268 motor. Definitely don't like the one o ring design. The overhaul kits come with different color coded o rings. Oem Parts are getting harder to get for this series. Get some stuff from All State Ag, too.
They have do have good lug power with that motor. Don't by a Jx series. I owned a jx95 2 years. Traded for a Kubota 9960, then a Kubota m110gtx, and now have a Kubota m6-111. Still have 885 because it has a lever for the PTO for the grinder. The electric pto's shear the bolts. 7110 I have can run grinder when in a bind.
I have a question i have a case ih 685 its a little hard to start then its slow to rev up and it seems down on power in high gear driving down the road on a small hill i had to down shift a couple gears and my other tractor goes right up the hill with no problems you have any suggestions what to look at first
PA Farms thanks i just bought it Friday ran good at dealership didn't notice anything until i was driving it home when it wouldn't pull a slight hill in high gear had to down shift 2 gears to make it up like i said before my other tractor will go right up that hill barley even pulls on it so i will check the fuel filters and air filters and if thats not it i will try doing what you said on the injectors thanks for the advice i let you know how it goes
Monty Bussard the only issue I had was delivery. They only have a tractor trailer and charge tractor trailer price. I had someone haul it up for me. I was surprised they didn't have a rollback or small trailer.
Jake Ziegler Stanley's Farm Service I was in their shop this winter. They had a white 2-135 in for engine work. Also an oliver 1700 with no engine in it. I guess it was a gas and they were looking for a diesel to put in. Then a 1755 with a flat tire. Agco pulled their dealership a few years ago because they didn't sell enough and it was just on a farm and didn't comply with dealership standards.
PA Farms that's to bad that is the dumbest thing agco ever does. They pulled the agco dealer here in 2013 and they sold a planter or two every year! Oh that just makes me mad!!!! Must've been an 1800 they never made a 1700
Jake Ziegler yea and case ih did the same with the place I used to work too. It was all stupid stuff. We were supposed to have a waiting area with a lounge and have coffee available, the outside of the building had to have white tin with a red stripe along the building, they said our red stripe was the wrong color, we also didn't have handicap accessible bathrooms.... our building was a 1940s original IH dealer building that had a massive addition put on in the 70s was good enough for IH but not fiat I guess ,
Jake Ziegler I hear ya, if I need CIH parts I have to drive about 45 miles if I can't get it online/aftermarket. I like Zimmerman farm service. They have an agco white 6145 they just got in. Neat tractor. They have an awesome website.
