You can! Not permanent but you can use a flat iron to create curls

I only curled some backwards once I reached the backside of the crown. At first you wouldn’t notice a big difference, but yes it affects the curl direction

Depends on the look you’re going for. Always prep using a texture spray first. And then: For wet look - Pomade For natural shine - Creme or Shine Paste For matte look - Matte Paste or clay Different brands will give their products different name but they are all variations of the three I mentioned

@@judd__ from my understanding you can use products the day of but just have to avoid washing it or getting it wet at all for 48 hours. As you can see in the video he uses product on him immediately following the perm

@@Fifty_Ft getting a loose wave requires larger rods. Larger rods = larger circumference = longer length of hair on top. 6 in is what I tell people because it gives me enough canvas to comfortably wrap around the larger rods which then I can trim according to the style after the perm is done

You should wait at least 36-48 hours before washing your hair with shampoo. But I wouldn’t say it’s a total loss, you probably just loosened the curls

Chicago! You can get something called an iron perm which creates a softer effect

Hair on top has to be minimum 6 inches on top for it to wrap around the larger rods which give it more of a wave rather than a curl

It really depends. Just understand that constant shampooing will dry out your hair and scalp but it’s doing what it’s meant to do. It’s why we use fabric softener for our clothes after we put it through the wash. Same thing. Personally, I shampoo and condition on day 1. Then if I need to get it wet again on day 2, I’ll just run it under some warm water and give my scalp a nice scrub. And then on day 3 I’ll use shampoo and conditioner again. But this is because I usually work out throughout the week and I’m sweating. My scalp also breaks out in psoriasis spots when it has too much build up. So find a system that works for you but understand that shampoo is a tool to cleanse, conditioner is a tool to moisturize, and having a balance of natural oils in your hair is a good thing.
