I just found your videos today, and at first I thought "that's way too much effort to go to the bank that often", and now I'm sitting here making envelopes for literally everything because I think it's genius lmao. I'm going to try this next month and see how it goes! I'm hoping that actually seeing ALL of my cash laid out like this will help me budget way better and be able to be more careful with my spending.

I’ve been watching your videos for an hour... I’m absolutely in awe!! I’m 19 and just starting out in my world of adulting, and am DEFINITELY a bit over whelmed and feel like I’ll NEVER be able to save and pay off my student loans!! But since starting watching your videos literally an hour ago I’ve made rough sketches of budget plans that I’ll be able to start following in a week or two when I start getting paid from my new job!! I find people doing the envelopes so entertaining because before learning about this method I had saved up $5,000 in the bank for my emergency fund. Then I used 5 bank envelop holders a month and all other money from my payroll check goes to principal for my student loans. Three envelopes with the total written $223. Then on those the list is written: $100 Food, $100 Pocket money, $10 gas, $10 Laundry, $3 Car wash. When the next check comes in, any unused money from the envelope goes to principle payment to my student loan, too. My first envelope is top heavy at $600-ish including the categories mentioned. And my last envelope has the same categories plus my student loan payment($223 standard +$161Student loan). $5,000 to go on the student loans. To celebrate paying it off, I'll take the Financial Peace University class to up my game.
