Cutoffs and cookies are a problem for all firewood cutters. They don't have to go into the burn pile. Today I clean up my cookies in the woodyard and make some cash at the same time. Cookies are great for boiler wood!
@@oldguyfirewood yep. I don’t charge near as much BUT I don’t have to put time into it either. Especially with not so good Ash or dead Elm, I’ll cut it, load my trailer and deliver.
@@oldguyfirewood I am don’t sell wood so I don’t have a ton. Lot cut off and nasty this year. My stove take up to 24. So length not really critical. I need to try start cutting everything as close to 16 as I can. I think I do stand come spring. The nasty are the best wood.
Good question… I’m surprised you were the first to ask. I bought the trailer used several years ago. It had the one solid tailgate that was hinged top and bottom. When I used the bottom hinge and dumped, the tailgate would hit the ground before the trailer would fully dump. I converted it to side hinge to eliminate the problem.
Hey Mike. It’s a 6x10 and I pull it with an F150. 7x12 is the biggest would go with a half ton. The 6x10 is a good size. I can fit a full cord if I put my wood sides on. That load of cookies was over 2/3 cord.
I tried to unload my cookies last year. I only had one person with any interest and they were a no show 2 times. So unfortunately I dump mine in a hole at the corner of the property.
