This was such a great episode! Brianna and Ian both have the gift of speaking so well, eloquently, and fluidly that the time just melted away. Sober a year now and opiates were my DOC too.
@@BriJaynesBCTWP I have to add a similarity in that I have felony check fraud on my record! But it was a blessing in disguise, it started me on my recovery journey!
That first year is the hardest so congrats man ! Every year after gets so so much easier . I just celebrated 6 years off heroin , stick with it , you won’t regret it
@@BriJaynesBCTWP OMG you replied!!! You did such a good interview I watched the whole thing. I never seen you before today, but I subscribed to your channel.
I always look at pictures of me when I was a kid or in middle school years before I struggled with heroin . It’s so depressing seeing how innocent and unaware I was of the life I would have years later . I used to do the same things she did . So happy I’m sober now , that life sucks so bad
One of my most favorite episodes to date. The questions, content, and stories. Beyond that was the vibe. You both clicked so well. To me it appeared as if youd grown up next door. Very smooth, fun and entertaining plus it was funny af when she was butsin your balls lol. I feel like there's at least 2 more episodes of content she could provide, like alot was passed over. I'd say if she wasn't married you'd be on that hit list haha. Another Job well done bud. Thanks for what you do. Also thanks for your stories Bri
1. THANK YOU! I'm glad the content spoke to you! 2. I am NOT married, should've been, but I'm not. Sadly single. I just left a five year relationship. 3. This was a very smooth interview for me. I am actually pretty happy with how it went. It wad probably the realest one I've done so far and I actually loved doing this one with Ian, he made it very easy to tell too much. ❤
Great episode! She's so articulate and has a great voice for this. Hope she finds her way to more public speaking! Maybe consider being a circuit speaker?
@@BriJaynesBCTWP It's through AA. You should be able to ask someone from a mtg. A circuit speaker speaks at the convention that's held every 5 yrs. Please let me know if I can help or if you end up being one!
I used to work in healthcare and let me tell you. There are a shit ton of people in active addiction that are nurses and c.And a's that just worked in the medical field altogether. A lot of em get caught stealing meds but the hospitals dont want it getting out so they just fire them. It happens so much its scary. The crazy hours you are expected to work you almost have to be on drugs to do it. At least thats what you think at the time.
Exactly I had a very very well paying job in the oil field but I worked 72-84 hours a week and only way I felt like I could do the job was take a cocktail of drugs adderall & opiates I was on drugs and worked those hours for 12 long years till I finally got sober and changed the line of work I was in
A garbage plate is a monster size macaroni salad, home fries, baked beans, two cheeseburgers or hotdogs - sans the bun - smothered in a meat-based hot sauce, and topped with mustard and chopped onions.
As somebody that lives in Florida after growing up and spending most of my early adulthood in Philly, it's wild that you say people don't help you in Florida. I find everybody much more helpful down here than I ever did in Philly and I'm sure much more helpful than in New York. But, I live on the Gulf Coast, I'm guessing if you were in rehab, you were over near Fort Lauderdale or West Palm. People don't stop to help you on the side of the road over there, because they are thousands of junkies / criminals infiltrating that part of Florida bc of the rehab and sober living industry .
Some people in Florida were nice, like strangers. It was the owners of the recovery placed in south Florida. I was all over but around Delray for some time.
She thought that she would catch-up and pay her grandma back. If the others were not encouraging to rob grandma, she would have probably stopped. Yes it is wrong that she stole from grandma or anyone but she knew that it was wrong and believed that she would catch-up. She never spoke about physical hurting her victims. She has another 50 plus years to live, I know of about 10 of my friends that passed away, by getting legal prescription and doctor gets closed or retires and they are going through withdrawals. If they didn't lace the H with fentyl on unexpected addicts probably 25% would still be alive. Anyone caught dealing a lot of fentyl should get live in prison or take x amount a day then make them go thru withdrawals and repeat it five times. I have no idea how fentyl is sold or measured so my comment sounds dumb. I have seen friends of friends die using laced oxies. Call me dumb but I could not tell you what H or fentyl looks like. I knew what oxy are but I am happy to be dumb about some things. Hopefully she becomes a speaker at these memorials or protests , whichever you believe.
@keithburbank5592 Thank you for defending me, that was beautiful. I did know it was wrong and attempted to fix the problem over and over again. I do speak at d.c I recently spoke at a protest against the aackler family when the Supreme Court was hearing defendant arguments. I will be in Canada speaking soon as well@
She has to be the only person from Buffalo that never heard of a garbage plate I’m a hour east of rochester and they are all over here. They are great.
You two have great chemistry! It would be awesome to see her back again sometime 😊 as a female, I always love to see your interviews with female guests and I enjoyed hearing Bri’s story!
So you love supporting thieves? Why are you romanticizing this criminal? Is this was a guy telling stories of how he took advantage of girls; you would probably loose it.
Sobriety is amazing it looks good on everyone we do recover 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤I'm almost 6 years sober off alcohol and got 7 years clean off all drugs loove it where I'm originally from it's nothin but meth 😢😢😢
I don't know if it was bck in 2001 but I know in 2021 the yr my daughter passed away cause of tht poison n it's getting worse n woser everyday @@Babbarkhalsa84
I feel like you would be a good therapist if the podcast business doesn’t work out! Looks like you’re doing well yourself though! Enjoyed this one as always!
I’ve been to some places where they serve a family style meal on a garbage can lid, like the old school metal joints. I guess that’s what the Buffalo thing is?
Garbage plate started in Rochester and moved to Buffalo. It's just basically fries and some type of sauce and meat and all that type of stuff on it and they just called it a garbage plate because there's just a ton of shit on it probably.😂
Oh yeah I think there's like a hot dog with a bun and cheeseburgers like open and then the fries and everything go on top with all the sauces and everything. They're all different depending on where you are but they're all compilation of basically the same thing with a ton of fries a ton of sauce hot dogs and cheeseburgers and it's all just mushed together to form a garbage plate hence the name lol
It's basically an overflowing combo plate of everything that they sell at the place it's not actually garbage. I'm stuck in Buffalo right now so that's what I was told anyway.
@Creator May I suggest cutting b/twn 6K & 10K or using a de’esser to stop the clicking and popping of the 🎤 while speaking. Personally I would suggest using LindellAudio’s 902 plugin. Any VST plugin should do the trick. I love your interviews and have watched several. I read this complaint in the comment section of some of the interviews.❤
Exactly 💯 Romanticizing Thieves. But its cool because shes a girl and talks all sweet. 😂 Imagine if this was a guy telling how he took advantage of girls and his grandma…
Ian, i think you’re a 10. Anyone girl would be lucky to have a man like you. And you’re exactly right, girls who aren’t ready to settle down are with assholes. I’m 32 now and i went through a few assholes and i’m over it. I would rather be with someone that loves me as much as i love them and can communicate through our problems.
The checks are not the important part of her life and recovery. There are people stealing $100,000 in a month and resorting to violent crimes. She is lucky to have a great mom and a couple of besties or will kick her ass if she ever attempted too go down the wrong path again. Those type of friends are hard to find, a diamond in the ruff. If she didn't pay Gramma back, I am sure that she would have been forgiven and welcomed home with open arms.
@keithburbank5592 I agree, this was also 8 years ago. Essentially everyone who lost money got paid back including grandma. I paid some of the guys money back for years after words, even the ones my sister robbed.
I love the girl but she wore the wrong outfit. She spent more time adjusting her boobs than she did talking but overall, LOVED the girl! #brijaynes #lockedin, #ianbick
