Today I got a Casio W-737H for Christmas I like it the Casio W-737H is similar to the Casio G-Shock is still water resistant up to 100 Meters is perfect for Pool Season for next Summer
It's absolutely wrong to term these watches as 'BUDGET' watches. They are watches, plain and simple. Just a few decades back they were the cutting edge tech you had to have on your wrist. Something doesn't suddenly become a cheaper version of something just because it's inexpensive. These are proper watches that serve the purpose for which they are made to the fullest. It's only our terrible way of equating price with the legitimacy of a product as a tool that causes these watches to be named incorrectly and termed as otherwise alternatives. These are NOT budget alternatives to something superior, they are proper functional watches which are priced correctly without their value being inflated because of demand, pop-culture obsessions and marketing. Terms such as 'budget', 'beater', 'alternative' and 'cheap' completely discount the amazing technology that these watches represent.
I could not agree more. Most people who buy these watches can afford to buy even more expensive watches, but there is no point buying a more expensive watch when a cheaper one provides the same benefits. Most people just buy expensive watches to impress others. A true waste of money.
This one's not for me, but it's always nice to see inexpensive new offerings from Casio Love the persistent time display and the inclusion of target time on the stopwatch. Those two features really need to be on more Casio watches!
This is a really nice watch. I like something lightweight, easy to read, durable and one that has a Timer/Stopwatch (so I can time my breaks, and lunch at my job). This one checks all the boxes and it's stylish too. I don't think it's $20.00 anymore, Amazon has it for $25.00 now, not complaining at all as it's still a great watch for a great price. These watches are so light, when you get the box at your house, you will think it's empty. Thank you for your review as well, great job.
I own this watch in the silver color. I personally love the looks and how it wears on the wrist. I refer to it as my "Star Wars" watch, it just looks like something out of that universe. It doesn't feel cheap. I think Casio did a fine job creating this sub $20 piece.
Just bought this watch (Black) on sale in Australia. Paid $50 AUS. Might seem a lot compared to $US, but it's very reasonable for this country. Just wanted a decent watch with basic features for work. Tired of having to use my phone to know the time. This Casio is water resistant, has a light, timer and an alarm. Plus day/date. At a third the cost of the cheapest G - Shock in the store a real bargain. Plus I like the retro look!
the grey is a really special look for this watch. but I like it so much I might have to get the black too. Casio hit it out of the park with this model IMO. the look, features, value and quality of build are all great
Definitely something casio-king-ish in the front look - display frame and buttons' frames. Fat numbers are great too. Don't know why, but I've liked the look more than this of DW-291H which on paper should be the better (looking) one. Hope 737H appears soon on the local market here to see if it's price-wise too :) Congrats for the nice video, as usual.
Absolutely love the format, no music just simple, quick but incredibly engaging review and content. The watch is great I'll buy it as a gift for my cousin on his birthday. He'll love it. The dial is not very crowded it's very readable when riding a motorcycle or a bicycle, it's needed in some of those situations, casio royale serves good but obviously it's not as tough. Love that metal one in the background though. Btw did you check out the new line up of dw5600? I bought one myself, the dw5610SU 8dr, it's awesome! I think they launched it this month Oh well you already covered that, it just launched in my region i got it for 50 usd
The world does not revolve around g shocks !even tho l too love them but l know a quality Casio when l see one l baught the black one first because in Australia only eBay was selling the silver one and l avoid eBay like the plague especially when it comes to casios finally l got the silver one on Amazon arrived today set it in 2 minutes and oh,my god this is a beautiful watch with a strong thick but pliable band this one is gonna last will swap out the plastic buckle for a steel one give it a go...it’s a stunner. !!
Bought this in black and grey online. I've always wanted a chunky G-Shock but there's no way my wrists can pull it off, everyone's telling me to get a baby-G but idk I am always going for the bigger ones. So got this since I want to try a cheaper version for now. Even this one is too big for my hand but I am keeping it. I know this is old but thank you for the video! Felt like my choice was validated 😅
Wish Casio would do an affordable, everyday watch with sunrise/sunset times/alarm. They used to have some really cool, different models back in the day.
Looks good. I would have preferred a dot matrix display for the day but the front light button is nice. The large buttons are nice too instead of the small metal push buttons.
Mini GX56 definitely. To be honest I don't hate Casio making G-shock lookalike watches like this. There have been many blatant G-shock rip-offs like Skmei and S-Shock which are built like crap, so it makes sense for Casio to take the matter into their own hands. It could also give people a chance to test the waters at affordable price before they pull the trigger on real deal G-shocks, without resorting to knockoffs of course. Plus, Casio built quality will always be better. With that said, they're more than adequate for the ones who want cheap, accurate and reliable beater watches for everyday use.
I just received one of those directly from the Casio online store in Brazil. I went for this model because it was the least expensive one that was both water resistant and had a timer - which was the reason I needed a watch in the first place. Wanted something small, uncluttered and with big-sized digits on the display. I only wished the currency exchange was favorable...
These cheaper Casio watches look better than g-shock. G-shocks usually look too juvenile and cluttered, with exceptions of course. This one looks more like a serious watch.
This will be my first Casio. I guess $25 is a safe point to test the waters. This video did give me a lot of info. Thanks for that. I did feel the strap could be a little more premium and hunky. If anyone has some suggestions for straps, please advise. I guess I need to use a screen protector for glass.
I bought this one, but manual doesn't mention how to turn off the alarm (when we don't touch anything in alarm mode). how we make it back to touch nothing
Those 2 big circles on the upper right of the screen are just stuck there. For me, they are ugly and useless. The W-800h has similar functionality and water resistance, 10 y battery, in a slightly smaller package. Also about 5 bucks less. Thanks for another interesting video.
21 bucks not bad. Question you mentioned 18mm band witdh, are the band adaptors for casio universal? I have the world time casio I force fit a nato strap but want to get adaptors for easy swap for different straps. Thanks have a good one
It would be wonderful if, on models like this one with wider lug width, you could put it on a Nato strap just to see how it would look.. It looks very interesting indeed and the display looks so much better then the one on the dw5600.. Thanks for the review,!
The new GravityMaster looks bleh. It looks like it was stung by a bee on the right hand side. About this watch, the time display is large but the day and date display is tiny.
2:24 - You mentioned that the watch has a lug width of 18 mm, which can open the door to using third-party straps with the watch. Just to check, though, since this watch has inset lugs-not unlike most Casio watches-would you happen to have any tips for finding third-party straps that would look good with this? (My concern is that if you were to attach a standard 18 mm strap, it might look too skinny on the watch since straps don’t tend to account for being attached to a watch with inset lugs?)
This is true. Same issue with the AE-1200 and AE-1300. But at least the strap are removable. You could always use a knife to cut a leather strap right at the lugs, like many people have done with the AE lineup.
Looking good. Can anybody recommend a g-shock for the smaller wrist with a step counter, timer and alarm? Altimeter would also be cool but if not available no problem 👍
I really hate this new trend of replacing the perfectly fine EL BACKLIGHT with this cheap ass looking LED lights. It doesn't even look good on the watch itself. For instance, I have recently bought the AQ-190W which is very beautiful, but the light cancels the digital lecture, it just doesn't work. Please CASIO, bring back the good stuff.
I may be a little late to the party but I saw this the other day and ordered it just got it, I've been collecting the cheapies for awhile from the China websites, smael, skmei. Etc.... they are big rugged and tough sure they're not the greatest but they do the trick, they tell time, I've got a few Armitron also. I got this and another Casio with the world time on it they are tiny they feel cheap as hell and definitely a disappointment, I just like a big digital watch cuz I'm a bigger guy these casio's aren't really expensive I would not begrudge anybody that wants a smaller watch but for me they're just way too small, and the backlight is terrible
