Dude, you and Bmac are killing it on these you tube videos. Don’t stop whatever ya do! It’s just cool to see you go out and fish. The “day on the lake” figuring them out format is always good one to fall back on. Keeping track of how long you’ve been on the water and how/why you’re adjusting. All good stuff!
Just went to chickamauga this Friday and Saturday was my first ever fishing trip and loved that lake got 9 solid fish and got my Pb out of chick she weighed 5 pounds even. I got the pleasure of fishing with Mr. Ben Hayes and he had nothing but good things to say about you when we were on the water for my 8 hour guide trip. Keep up the great content!

Would love to see you do a "blade"(Silver Buddy style bait)video. Either late fall or early spring with colder water temps...Smallmouth, Spots or Largemouth...whatever you prefer... I think it's a technique that isn't talked about, but is used more often than we know....... Just a thought considering the time of the year....

Me an my cousin fished a tourny this summer an were throwing the dt16 n caught 26 fish back to back to back in less than 45 mins.. caught 3 3pounders out of the school an one 4lb on a Shakey head.. it was the best afternoon of fishing have had in long time. I would catch one by the time i got it back to the boat he had one on an it went on like that for over 30 mins. The second fish we cought was that 4lb.. then we cought lot of average 1lb to l.5lb fish an got lucky n cought those 3 3pounders out of the pack . All spots even the 3lbs. an the 4lb was a large mouth fishing on my home lake Logan Martin! Fun fun fun day!!! This video reminded me of that day. We had 15.22lb to win the tourny that night.

Winter fishing on chickamauga lake what to throw and where to throw it points deep ledges shallow banks I’m having a lot of trouble catching fish this time of the year I catch fish but most of them are white bass and stripers. Love the videos hopefully I will see you out there again soon

I just wish i had a lake nearby where fish schooled up like this 😢. Hardly ever find schools on my river that i can get to bite and the lakes off of them are all shallow muddy silty bottoms oxbows.

This is ironic because I’m only here because I’ve been watching him absolutely kill it the last 3 weeks fishing MFL. I stumbled across it channel surfing, had no idea what MFL was but I am glad now that I bass fish, I can watch it! Great Job Mr. Wheeler!
Could the bag of worms possibly be so big from not throwing them but getting sent tons for free? The vision 110 creeps up sometimes on live streams in the bottom of the boat instead of the Rapala.
Great video man, love all your videos, I'm new to the swimbait game, can you go in detail about when to use it and when not to use it. What is the best depth for it, shallow, deep, rod reel set up for a budget fisherman.
Donnie, I'm obviously not Jacob, but just a regular blue collar Joe. I don't know anything about the lakes you're fishing, but what works for me is a 7 ft medium heavy with at least a 6.4 ratio reel on 12 to 14 lb line. My exact setup I use is an Abu Garcia Black Max Combo 7' MH on 12lb Trilene Smooth Casting in the clear color. Or a 7' Bass Pro MH with a BPS Pro Qualifier with the same line. The Abu combo is $75 I believe. After using it for the last 2 years, I will always have that combo as long as I live. The best advice I can give for any fisherman for long cast on swimbaits, jerkbaits, and deep crankbaits is to change the line often. I change mine every 15 to 20 hours worth of fishing with any deep water lures. And of course always use Berkeley Trilene Smooth Casting. It's cheap but still good quality.
In my experience yes. I fished Onidea lake in New York and the St. Lawrence river while stationed with the 10th mountain Division in upstate New York. Those two bodies of water are actually where I learned to fish I had never fished before. But I had a great friend who taught me a ton. I also know that hair jigs worked very aggressively works for smallies as well. I hope that helps and good luck!

His boat has a fish finder on it so he can find schools like he did in this video, tbh imo using a fish finder is kinda cheese. Finding where the fish are without that tool is half the battle
I'm well aware he has a fish finder Ryan. I'm asking him to add to the video him literally finding the school and how he goes about it. To not use todays technology to help cut down on "search" time is foolish...just sayin'
@@computerguy1724 true it does makes sense to have that technology in competition with that logic, but it still feels like cheating when you know the layout of the ground, how deep the water is, how deep the fish are and the size. Once you know all those all you gotta do is pick the correct lure and youll pretty much gets bites left and right. thats why i feel having that is cheap. Its like getting the textbook with all the answers
You do realize this is fishing, right? I mean when I go out I want to find and catch the fish immediately. I'm pretty much a weekend warrior so I don't want to be "searching" half or more of my day.
