Your the man catfish Dave. The frustration you have with stuff is absolutely hilarious. Looked like a good trip regardless of the struggle. Just remember if it was easy. Everyone would do it. 💪🏼
Well you are on my home waters. You are below where the Ohio and the Mississippi rivers combine. We have cat fish. If I had known you were coming I would have baked a cake. So grab some sweet tea and fried green tomatoes and enjoy the fishing. From Paducah.
Dave ,,a hummingbird will shut off on its own when voltage drops below 11 volts ,,which means you need to charge your battery with a different charger because the one your using is not working
@@cablrus1885 he better hope he don’t get one of those garmins ,,he will need to go to college to understand those ,,they are not meant for the average fisherman
I run Garmin units and they are simple to use. But I do agree about the voltage all units will shut down. Clean power and dedicated power with todays units.
@@bobbygreen2291 I hope they get it resolved. I have the 93SV and they run great. I do not have live scope, it does not seem like it would be beneficial for cat fishing. Enjoy your weekend sir!
Been following you for a piece sir. It's been a pleasure watching you get it done in many different systems and environments. I gotta say I do miss your shore videos. I'll follow you as long as you're willing to post some content. I appreciate you bringing us along with you.
I wish I had known you were fishing one of our spots across from Paducah on the Illinois bank. I would have come by for a photo bomb but I was fishing up river below the Smithland Dam. I live very close to the Mississippi but rarely fish there because we have an unlimited number of places to fish here in the Paducah area
Nice video man love it just started following you. Makes me think of my dad he caught some big catfish, when I was growing up. Me and my two brothers spent hours on top of hours skinning fish. He was a commercial fishermen. God bless you! Your friend from Tennessee 👍
Crazy that the day after I subscribed to your channel I see you fishing in Wickliffe and you put your boat in at the ramp where I got into the skiff to catch my boat 😁👍 I am a boat captain and pass there regularly
Hello Dave... Thank you for sharing your fishing adventures with us.. I hope you get your Fish Finder gremlins figured out soon and your adventures on the waters just keeps getting better and better. Stay safe out there and again, Thank you for sharing it all with us~!
Check you battery terminals and other inline connectors for corrosion. Will cause intermittent power. Just had same issue with my trolling motor. Love the channel.
Hey Dave , Had similar probs with my hummingbird . Battery terminal was just a little loose and dirty. It caused enough voltage drop to behave exactly has yours . Journey well , Ed
I know exactly where you are on the Ohio river. I work in Paducah and live in metropolis just over that bridge in the background. I have always wondered if you would get around this area, and I loved seeing you made it here. Very nice fish man. I love all your videos and enjoy watching them when they pop up. Keep em coming sir!
Come up to Michigan Dave show us some big flatheads in The Kalamazoo River or the Grand River. This could be the year of Dave touring the country!!! :)
Congrats! I know those days are tough they beat me up sometimes. I’m from western Kentucky area and far as the Ohio river goes; that whole river system is loaded with big cats. You should try it out again sometime.
My hummingbird units use to power on / shut off of battery voltage was lower than normal For whatever reason they have a built in safety to kick them off if voltage is low. Even when everything else would be working fine , they’d shut off unless the batteries where freshly charged.
You fishing around the southern tip of Illinois? I ask as your last video you were on the Ohio river and now the mighty muddy Damn, it's not an old TV, hammering on it will not help...LOL
Dave I would say Your GPS depth finder must be a good unit. With all the kicking and beating on it You did, and it still kept working ! You just did a durability commercial for them ! hahaha I grew up fishing the stretch of the Ole Muddy, from Moline Illinois down to the Alton Lock and Dam, farther down river ! Way to last the trip out though ! And a tip ! Don't pronounce the S in Illinois, makes You sound like You're from Tennessee !!! hahahaha
Some fine fishing there in the Ohio. Stop by some time around the carthage, Tn area and try out the fishing here. Lot of followers around here, and I think you would enjoy yourself.
@@jaredklein6927 Just you Jared. You're all by yourself on a tiny island wanting no music. The rest of us want Reuben's Train. Jared is a very, very lonely man.
@@jaredklein6927 Your wrong, it is a big part of the Catfish Dave show and it has been since the beginning of him making fishing videos and it’s who he is. Just turn your volume down and watch.
I used to live in wickiiffe. I fish off of that boat ramp quite often. One of my friends saw you in lacenter. I missed the opportunity due to work. Maybe next time.
Dave I had a Hummingbird go dead for no reason one time and beat it to death with a spud wrench.. I live I owensboro Ky on the Ohio and a guy in my town caught a 109 lb blue down at the Cannelton Dam lock 30 min from Owensboro. Love your show man.
Dave if you ever want to catch monsters on ohio go to Cannelton dam in Indiana. Section of river between Cannelton dam and Owensboro usually has good fish.
I've said the same thing about river catfish vs reservoir catfish. Another thing, cats in heavy current rivers will never get super gorged and fat in the belly like you see a lot of Tennessee river cats
You lost that fish in that creek mouth where Chris Riley Fishes at. And for them barges churning the water on that ramp I had to launch Steve Douglas boat there I don't even think I was breathing the whole time when I did it lol
Was kinda wondering if you ever tried the Missouri River in your travels unfortunately I have yet to land one near Kansas City I have a one year old that requires my attention so my fishing is limited
Get you an new depth finder. If you mess something up because yours isn’t working (hit a stump, tree or rock), my guess is it’ll be way more than $1,600. Great video 👍
2 minutes into the video I said to myself “cmon Dave, do a trip on the Ohio River!”……15 minutes later boom…Ohio River! There are some monster flathead in er. Hope you make a multiple day trip and fish it hard soon!
Catfish Dave if you get a chance use eel for bait on the Mississippi River. Hard to get a hook thru the skin but man the few times we used it they were crazy over it.
We fished from the bank where there were alot of rocks so we used a smaller leader for the weight so when we hung a fish the weight would break off leaving the fish on main line.
Hello sir I'm a Brit use to live in sevierville and fish the French broad river regularly and I use to soak my catfish baits in makeral oil the night before and the catfish hammered the baits Do you ever use fish oil if not give it try sir
The next time you want to fish the Ms River, look at West Helena Arkansas/Clarksdale Ms. You can stay at the Isle of Capri Casino on the Mississippi side. It’s should be a safe place to stay with your boat. Look between the wing dikes for big wash outs that are like lakes on the river.
Not a Cat guy but I lived near St, Louis and fished the mighty Mississippi a few times in my 15 ft bass boat. Wing dams everywhere nearly killed me. Missouri was even tougher. Steepest ramp I have ever seen. Stern always in the swift current. Trying to drive the boat on the trailer with the current swinging the stern everywhere was a challenge. I just got it on the back of the trailer and winched it up. Soaking wet from wading to shore. Barges everywhere. Channel narrow but plenty deep. All of the sudden as you work to shore, it is only one foot deep. Engine bogs down. Raise engine, use trolling motor. Then it drops to 15 ft. Engage motor because current is moving boat at high speed toward rock wing dam. Hope motor starts. Then I see the professional Cat guys in their flat bottom boats with stern drive engines and they don't miss a beat. Flying everywhere like it is 50 ft. deep. Never slowing down. Whatever.
Hey Dave Not sure if someone has already commented on this, but I understand that frustration all too well. Not sure what device your using but I have had the same thing happen to me and it was the power cable. had a bad prong on it and was only making contact in intervals. anyway may check that out take care. I would say keep tight lines but I watch you all the time and your lines stay tight keep doing what your doing sir!!!!!
