Hi, Jaden. I just completed my first flight with Cathay Pacific. Coincidentally, I met the same cabin purser as you on my flight. 😊 I really had a great time with CX A321N.
Your food looked amazing Jayden. That is definitely upscale from the US main line food. Can’t wait to see what I get on United First Class going to Cancun in May❤️✈️
Great video, Jayden. Cathay's regional business class looked great! It seems very comfortable for shorter flights. The meal looked very delicious as well. It's too bad the connection at MNL was such a hassle. Glad it you made it safely for the HK Express debut ceremony! Happy travels!
indeed but to be fair Cathay don't fly their A321neo anywhere further than Bangkok (two hours) vs. SQ to Cairns (6.5 hours) and Male (4.5 hours). Chances are you barely get any bed time even if they feature flat beds.
Hi Jayden. A bit yukky ( and sweaty 🥵) sitting in a lounge in the tropics, facing west, and the air-conditioning not working properly. But the decent food and drinks makes up for it. Decent seats and meal on the flight, which was great
Finally the second leg, love ur content soo much. This plane looks crispy and fresh with this livery. I know I’m late sooo sorry. Was at Melbourne (my home city)
CX's A321neo Jcl seats look very sleek in its design, although I wish they opted for flat bed like how JetBlue and SIA have done so. Thanks for another great and comprehensive review!!! 🤟👍💪
Another great vlog Jayden - I've flown from Manila but never flown with Cathay Pacific - btw I absolutely love that name - it evokes images of early pioneering travel. But back to today! I loved the super modern cabin - that's the most 'modern' I've ever seen - seems like a great flight tho I miss the Kai Tak landings 😄
I flew out out of MNL to HKG on Cathay, but the A330. Good to see the short haul planes are modern. It's a real pain getting out of Manila Airport. Always a big delay.
You are correct however looking at the competitor parked in terminal to the Centennial terminal in Manila PR their fleets are almost identical to each other but the economy class Interiors are different PR Fiesta Class lose the plugs and keep USB CX have both as standard in all classes. RP-C3501-RP-C3508 A359s upper end A35Ks lack tail camera feature seen on B-LRx A359s & B-LXx A35Ks. If you want to do that first time you might as well do ultra-long haul Terminal 8 JFK CX845/843 if resumed Terminal B EWR CX899 A359/ A35k to HKG then 907 to MNL🇵🇭 from HKG🇭🇰 vs PR127 JFK-MNL. I find CX customer service > PR
Long time no chat Jayden. 😂 You're still my favourite plane review blogger. I really enjoyed the night vision from the air. They looked like led pink pegs sticking up from the bridge. Love how you get so excited over coat hooks 🪝. Your hair was looking pretty wild. 🎉. Glad you got a hair cut 😅 I was impressed with the quality of the plane. Yeah Cathay Pacific!! Happy Easter Jayden.
Dear my friend Jayden. It has been a long time, but with me having to catch up on life, I’ve finally am able to make some time to comment on your great flight review video. I cannot express how impressed I am with Cathay Pacific! I am so glad that its parent company hung in there to maintain its excellent service throughout the past difficult years. The time you spent waiting in line for a takeoff reminded me of some flights I’ve taken. On a very few, we were in line so long that the aircraft had to turn around and be refueled before continuing its flight. By the way, as I was hoping to comment on your flight from Narita to Manilla on Japan Airlines. Its service too was above reproach in my opinion. So, what I might say in this comment certainly does reflect my thoughts regarding both of your flights. Did I miss your review of your Pacific flight, or are you still in the process of editing it? I am so impressed by the quality of service on your flight that I find it hard to begin with just one thing. The cleanliness of the lavatory is unbelievably striking to me! Even though the aircraft most likely had a quick turnaround, Cathay’s standards must have emphasized a thorough cleaning. However, I’m sure the cleanliness standards of Manilla most likely played a role in it also. On a flight with a US carrier, conditions in a lavatory are such that there is no way I am going to use it. One thing you mentioned regarding the lavatory was its width. That actually has nothing to do with it being an A321 NEO. It has everything to do with the carrier that purchased it and the cabin layout it also purchased. For I am certain that on A321 NEO’s purchased by other carriers which wish to squeeze in another row, the size of the lavatory would be much more confining. Not only am I impressed with a full meal being served on such a short flight, but its presentation and courses rival those I’ve only received on long haul, overseas flights on US carriers. The presentation was exquisite. Along with how delicious you stated your food tasted, I am so jealous of you. Thank-you for the add-in about your day in Hong Kong. This is the first tour of any I’ve had of the city. It too was indescribably clean. I must visit it. Give me your home address, and I’ll come to see you. JUST KIDDING! Please keep up the great work, my friend. I’m looking forward to viewing your next video.
Hi Guerry! In two weeks time, I will upload a trip report of Delta. I flew them from Los Angeles to Seattle in First Class and I was impressed by the breakfast they served onboard. Are you referring to my flight from USA to Japan? It will be in my Delta video. I am doing two flights in one video :) With regards to lavatory size- you're mostly correct. But at the very front, airlines can't and won't simply make it smaller because the lavatory is located between the exit door and cockpit, they can't change where the door is all A321NEO should have similar or identical lavatory size. Did you see my other reply about the Big Buddha? I finally visited! 🤣 Cheers, Jayden
@@JaydenWong: Thank-you for replying my friend, and I especially thank-you for correcting me regarding the lavatory in business class. Indeed, I read where you did finally visit the Buddha. I can now quit joking you about it. I hope you took pictures of it. I do look forward to next week's video. Again, take care my friend.
As a tourist, your comment on our immigration puts us to shame and you are right about it. Philippine immigration always gives us a hard time when travelling.
I agree and if you do HKG-MNL A321neos comparisons then it's CX > PR & 5J A321neos. A350s CX > PR since all CX A350s are power plug enabled but PR has Mabuhay Class plugs equipped Fiesta Class none.
Because I had plenty of time, little luggage and am very stubborn I used the free transfer bus between T1 and T3 in March’23. The bus is very worn. And you wait outside in the fumes.
Looks like CX copied PR who also uses A321neo for HKG-MNL however PR A321neos lack in-seat power supply in all classes unlike CX A321neos which have all classes in-seat power. HKG-MNL is my most flown route in the CX network since it used to have all types of Aeroplanes in the Cathay Pacific fleet starting with the DC-3 1946 all the way to B777-300 B777-300/er B747 A330-300 & A350-900/-1000. These included the retried A340-300 & A340-600 which will then do CX830 to JFK from the first MNL-HKG flight CX904 and B777-200 which has a 2-5-2 economy class seat no ptv must stand up to watch the programme. In your opinion is CX better than PR on HKG-MNL-HKG? When it comes to the A350-900 I would say CX A359 > PR A359 in terms of comfort and service.
Happy to see that CX is FINALLY using a narrow body a/c for the HKG-MNL vv route! 👍 I can never understand why CX loved deploying B777-300ERs to MNL in the past. 😖 The coat hook certainly looks unique! 🤩 Am amazed to see that CX deploys a SP and a FP for a narrow body flight. Thumbs up for CX on this, as SQ deploys only one LS (equivalent to FP in CX) for narrow body flights and the rest of the crew are all the junior ones! 😂
Haha CX loved deploying all sorts of long-/short- haul aircraft for MNL, BKK, TPE and SIN instead of letting them sit in HK between long haul flights. Like Qantas A330 between SYD-MEL at 6-7am :) then 9-10am they go Asia. Yep very weird to not see ISM onboard!!
@@JaydenWong TPE, BKK & SIN I can understand. MNL ... hmmmmmmmmmm ... 🤭🤭🤭 Anyway, glad to see this review. Very few CX A321neo reviews to date, thus am delighted to see this comprehensive review, especially on the unique coat hook. 😊😊😊
Haha i actually chuckled when you mentioned how hot it is in the philippines and how the sun seems to follow u around in that lounge 😂 i was also there last december 😂 aircon weak..😂 watching you from 🇵🇭🥵😂
Despite the alcoholic beverages are limited at the lounge, I could still see a draught beer machine. I guess it will be great to have a beer for the weather in Philippines. As well as nice review on new CX's A321 business class. May I know how this compared with the existing regional class (Also known as "Fake J")? Thanks.
Surprise by it and on MNL-HKG since both CX and PR use A321neo B777-300/ER A350-941 A330-343X your choice will come down to which one of them although the better service comes with CX. A35K CX B-LXx registrations > PR A35K RP-C35xx fleet
Manilla airport terminals: when you take a cab you should know exactly which terminal you need to be. Domestic or international isn’t enough. So beware and prepared 😊
Maybe it is a prejudice from me that narrow body aircraft stands for inferior hard and soft products compared to widebody. Not sure if it is true? Good to see Jayden is enjoying the trip. I do have to admit that I miss your Q&A sessions and hopefully we can have another one in the future video, really looking forward to your Beijing vlog cauz I havent been home for 2 years but I have a flight due in 3 weeks there!
you're not wrong- most narrow body planes fly shorter distance and hence interior hard and soft products. I'm not doing Q&A at the moment because I'm getting the same questions over and over again. I'll wait for a few more weeks and months and people will have newer questions :) And there won't be Air China videos I'm afraid :( I took the flights two days ago and my phone broke during the journey and I couldn't record :(
@@JaydenWong Bugger then. Hope your days in China will be different from your phone. Not pushing you on Sth but just saying miss the Q&A haha. Hope your future flight reports won’t be affected by this phone incident. Maybe try bring a camera with you as well next time haha.
Great video once again Jayden. I also hope the Easter bunny treats you well Jayden. One last thing do you think in 6-8 years I could come and live in your apartment with you Jayden??
You think this Aircraft's business class seating and interior is superior or inferior to the A330-300 business class Jayden? I know it's a much newer aircraft but I'm guessing is much narrower and the seating layout is different too. Thinking HKG to Japan flight in near future
The experience at MNL is such a mess. It's unfortunate that this is often the first impression for for many overseas travelers. At least the flight experience looks nice.
Great Review on this newer aircraft! I must add though that NAIA (all terminals) is listed to be one of the worst airports in the world so it's really best to avoid it at all costs.
Don't worry I read that there's a new airport going to be built to serve Manila. Bulacan International Airport aka New Manila International Airport. The airport you're in at Manila is very congested and thus the Philippines needed to have another airport serving Manila.
@@JaydenWong Well I hope the new airport will change your tune once it's built and open to the public and airlines around the world. Only one way to find out.
What happened to your normal very dapper dressing style, don’t think you have ever been so casual for a business class flight or even an economy one! It does seem strange for anyone mentioning a single isle Cathay plane, guess it is a sign of the times and needing to diversify.
It is bit different: the cabins have 2 officers sitting next of each other. Travellers just stand there and don’t notice that a place is free. So a supervisor has to call loudly to people.
2:10 Nobody believes me when I say that Filipino siu mai is the best siu mai in the world. Even Filipinos dont believe me. They make it differently in the philippines
haha it’s not for everyone. For me it’s perfect 🤣 indeed only 30% of HK is built up though. 70% is beautiful hills, islands and beaches. Singapore don’t really have them😏
