Dr. D.R.E was busy producing Eminem's album Slim Shady & Snoop Dogg's album Doggystyle & was out for around 7 years after his album "The Chronic" so when he decided to come back into hip hop himself he worked with Jay-Z to put his album together. I think DRE did the beats & Jay-Z wrote the lyrics on this song. Still D.R.E. signaled his comeback. ✌❤🎵

Dre introduced Snoop on Deep Cover & the Chronic in the early 90s. He then signed Eminem in the late 90s. Eminem has 2 or 3 diamond albums and is in the top 10 biggest selling artists of all time. You most likely heard it in the 2001 movie "Training Day". However, I'm going back a little further than that. Hip-Hop made heavy reference to the 1983 movie "Scarface". I wouldn't be surprised if Dr. Dre, was also inspired by the film's music score, more specially, from "The Drug Lord" scene when Tony Montana first met Alejandro Sosa. Jmo ;-)

This is a Scott Storch beat bro. Same dude who made Lean Back n most of the biggest tracks of the 2000's Dre just had him on his production team And yeah...Jay-z ghostwrote for Dre If anything Dre has a meticulous ear and knows who to surround himself with fr fr

Yeah, it was NWA in the 80’s with Ice Cube and Easy E. After there split he released the Chronic album in the early 90’s. He went on a Hiatus from releasing his own album for nearly a decade shere he released the Chronic 2001 - in 99’. (Which this song was on). During his hiatus he was still plenty busy producing, collaborating with, and discovering other legends to include Snoop, Tupac, and Eminem, to name just a few. Not to mention a couple acting roles (Most notably Training Day with Denzel)... 🤔 Which now that I think about it I believe was actually released later. Not much later though as this song was on the soundtrack. Talk about a storied and iconic life. All of this was before he really cashed in big on Beats headphones! Check out the movie Straight Out of Compton and the documentary the Defiant Ones. Together they do a good job of covering his life and accomplishments!!! 👍👍👍

1993 the chronic and then the chronic 2001. Two different albums, but two classic hip hop albums.

So many sick (also classic) hip hop beats wouldn’t exist without Dre. Some 2Pac beats, N.W.A beats, Eminem beats, Snoop Dogg beats and of course his own.

This makes me feel like the oldest person in the world :( I sort of got him having never heard Borap as it's ancient and maybe not as popular over the pond...but Still D.R.E? I cant comprehend it. Is Jayvee a lot younger than he looks? Or raised in a cult or something? :D it makes me insanely jealous that he gets to listen to all this stuff for the first time, its really fun to watch. I've no idea what to recommend, has he missed out on Bob Marley too? Would be great to see Virtual Insanity by Jamiroquai, there's not a person alive that can resist dancing along to it :)

Dre signed Eminem and they both signed 50 Cent and all of them + Snoop (and Mary J Blige) just performed at the Superbowl. How awesome that they are still friends and performing together :)
