If he were a general in charge of an army during WWII, his men would have done anything for him. The realization that your leader cares about you and works night and day to be sure you will have every advantage possible to get the win, is beyond measurement. The combination of Tom Brady and Bill Belichick will go down in Football History as one of the best ever. Never has a Coach and QB and visa versa been so strongly associated with each other and winning.

"I cut off the sleeves because my arms are kinda short and they just dangle over the ends of my hands". EVERYTHING Belichick does makes perfect sense. We don't understand the logic sometimes, but it's always for some good reason.

Bill B's father was a football coach, but amazingly Bill never played organized football, which proves the man is a genius, having played some lacrosse in prep school. This was more than the late Al Davis, former coach and owner of the Oakland Raiders did, Al having retired from organized basketball after his 8th grade season.

mickser101 Nah, as much as I respect Bill Belichick for his unwavering commitment to the game, Chuck Noll is the best and unprecedented of all time. Chuck Noll didn't have to cheat to get his Super Bowls. Chuck and Bill are very similar in their more refined personalities, but Chuck just built a much better dynasty overall. The players he forged together had astronomical talent. Bill knows how to build a dynasty team in a very similar way, but he tends to throw them in a recycle bin to end up somewhere else in the league after a year or two.

Giants are wasting Eli Manning. Thoroughly wasting him. I find comments like this from fans, offensive: "he's paid to elevate the players around him and cover up some holes on the team. He's not doing that anymore." Sad part is, he IS elevating his teams still. Which says something about his teams, huh?

Robert Irvin..... Yes....Lombardi was a great coach. But Lombardi has the distinct advantage of coaching in an era where the Coach ruled his team much like a dictator. Players were merely cattle. Need proof? In 1960, all Pro center Ringo wanted more $$$ from Lombardi & the Green Bay Packers. Hours later, Lombardi approached Ringo and said, "....you are now a member of the Philadelphia Eagles." He traded like him like a commodity. With free agency and other rights now given to players (and deserved by the N.F.L. players) Lombardi would have had to adapt. I don't know if he could.

Pats fan here. Don't hate the giants at all. there are multiple reasons I blame the patriots for losing those SB's. I don't hate the giants for winning. Pats could have won both but either made bad decisions or didn't come up with the big play when they needed. Giants made the big plays so they deserved it. And bottom line is if they had a Healthy Gronk for either of those SB's they %100 would have won them.

@VonAllenMusic
@VonAllenMusic 6 лет назад
I think there's a lot of Patriots fans out there that believe the Giants got lucky beating us. I'm just here to remind everyone that while the Tyree catch had luck as an element, it was also a lot of other things. First, there was skill there to go up, get the ball, and then press it against his helmet realizing he was in an awkward position and had to hold on because he had Harrison blanketed over him. Other factors involved that doesn't make this about luck is everything surrounding the catch. First, the play was a 3rd down and 5. So even if Tyree drops it, they have 1 more down and only 5 yards to gain. But before Eli threw it, he escaped the clutches of a sack. That's on our defense. They couldn't make the play and let him get away to throw that ball. After the Tyree catch the Giants still had to have a TD because a FG wouldn't work. Our defense gave up an easy TD to Plaxico Burress, which I still think that's the most pivotal play in the game, not the Tyree catch because we still were winning the game and could control the outcome by playing better. The entire game was about defense and they were kicking our asses all over the field in the physical battle. You can't have all these things happening in one game and then suddenly say one catch makes their victory lucky. We also had the ball at the end and couldn't get it down field in time for a FG. That's on us. the bottom line is that the Giants beat us straight up, fair and square. Regarding the 2nd Giants SB victory, they were just the better team in general. Much better roster, and by the time both teams got to the SB, the Giants were much more explosive. Our defense sucked and yet we still almost won. Luck is a funny thing. I find the most lucky are often the most prepared. Strange how that happens.

Well, 1st it´s not playoff football with the backups. And one 11-5 season with Cassel is no miracle, it was average. Look at how many coaches coached 11-5 teams with the same talent. I think BB would still be without rings if he did not have Brady. He would win in the regular season but he would have a hard time winning in the playoffs. After all, he "just" won 4 SBs with the GOAT in some 15 years or so.

Belichick is a good coach level headed,don't take things for granted,but not the greatest NFL coach in history. The Patriots won 4 Superbowls by a average of a little over 3 points,Seattle gave them 1 Super Bowl win by the dumb pass play on the 1 yard line instead of letting Marshawn Lynch finish the drive,&the game with a running play. The other the Tuck rule play that gave the Patriots life on a clear fumble recovered by Oakland. At most in reality the Patriots should only have 2 Super Bowl wins at the most which they only won because they had the ball last,&kicked game winning field goals as time expired. In their 2 Super Bowl losses Brady couldn't handle the pressure.Also the Pats play in a weak AFC East,&less physical,less talented AFC. Vine Lombardi 6 NFL championships in 6 years,the 1st two Super Bowl victories 9-1 playoff record. Bill Walsh was much better coach in the tough NFC. had he not retired would have won his 4th Super Bowl the next season,&maybe his 5th or 6th after that,greatest offensive mind,developed the widely copied West Coast offense. Chuck Knoll of the Steelers only coach with 4 Super Bowl wins in 6 years never done before or and a great defense the Steel curtain. Come on you really think Belichick is better than these guys? Get real.

@BJMcB92
@BJMcB92 7 лет назад
His defensive game plan from Super Bowl XXV is in the hall of fame for how effective it was, gtfo. You're giving guys credit for not winning, whereas Belichick already HAS six rings and has a chance to get his seventh. Also let's not forget, Walsh and Knoll coached in the era when there was no salary cap, so free agency and managing cap space was not nearly as prevalent. Belichick's continued success in a time where players turn over teams at a rapid pace and free agent contracts have exploded to gargantuan numbers, he seems to always find the right players for cheap to fit his systems while staying under the cap, and still manages to be five steps ahead of every other team in terms of developing players and coaching other teams' cast offs to success.

He didn't cheat. He retaliated towards Mangini and the Jets from January 2007 using 32 cameras (you can only have 1) in Foxborough in January of 2007. Flipping off a former protege you're in a personal feud with is not cheating. The rule was changed in 9.6.06 specifically because Mangini joined the Jets and the NFL wants the money go to through New York, so it was a way to weaken BB and the Pats. The money through the big market concept is actually covered in the Two Bills documentary. BB thought it was pathetic the Jets broke a rule they had changed and so he mocked them on their own field. Maybe a petty feud that needed to be dropped, but it's not cheating. Good lord, people. Do your homework. What's next, Brady deflated footballs? I mean, how many more times can Goodell get caught framing/cheating the Patriots to weaken them for financial gain and for owners' needing to feel satisfaction for jealousy of what Bob Kraft has as an owner? t couldn't be more obvious. All of this started when Goodell took over. His first day on the job he illegally (it wasn't voted on like it needs to be), changed the rule. And, why do 7-8 former NFL coaches all say they did the exact same thing BB did anyway? Because they did and do! There's nothing illegal about filming your opponent. All teams do this which is why there are rules tied to specifics around it. Did you see how Goodell just said the PSI data was expunged, even though he promised to show the customer the data? He's a liar and a cheater so he can keep his job and keep cheating owners happy.

@@TL2354 - Exactly. It's amazing the important facts the media will leave out to pimp a story for financial gain. Robert Irvin yeah, you are kind of disregarding his legacy. free agency is a double edged sword. it can cost you the talent you've acquired, but it can also get you talent you're lacking. chuck noll had to build his team one draft pick at a time. if he was lacking in a certain area, he couldn't just go and acquire it; he had to wait and draft it and hope that player worked out. if winning superbowls was so easy in the pre free agency NFL, then why is he the only one to win four?
@kickyerass

otto second Seems you are full of shit here. Belichcik has been to *SIX; (in 12 days from now), and Lombardi won more CHAMPIONSHIPS than anyone. Chuck Noll may be "disrespected" by some morons, but I always see him being regarded as one of the top three in every ranking by any LEARNED analyst of the game. = Screw the know-nothings who don't have a clue but spout off nonsense anyway. I have Noll, Belichick and Lombardi as the top 3, and I'm not picking in which order. It's the same with QBs. I have Dan Fouts in the top ten even though he never won a SB, and Bradshaw WAY below Brady, Montana, Starr and Unitas - even behind Elway, EVEN THOUGH Terry won four. PLUS chemistry and the other pieces on a team; in ALL THREE phases... and even luck and the health of the team at the end of the season... make all the difference whether any particular QB OR coach has success.
