Capacitor Discharge Ignition system. CDI is the most common ignition system in motorcycles and motorbikes. In this video I will show you how to wire a cdi in a non cdi bike. You will learn all details to convert a non cdi bike to a cdi bike.

My male plug has a yellow wire a dark blue with a white line on it solid green solid yellow and solid black with a male connector the male connector that goes to the bike adaptive the one run for my bike has a male adapter that has a green with a yellow stripe on it two of them two brownish orange looking color type wires and a black with a brown stripe going through it I could use any help if possible

Thanks for the advice just to make sure if something is 60 watts ac 220 volts the amps are .27amps.if something is 60 watts Dc at12volts dc.the Amps are 5amps so I need 5 amps ac switch is that correct.

Hi Keep uploading informative videos.i have jd generator it has gas kit fitted when I bought it but the problem it doesn’t start on gas I was told by a technician to start it on patrol when started then run it on gas.but it should start on gas cold.what do you suggest.

It should be. You must make maintenance on your gas kit, adjust it critically and then run. Hope it would start on gas too. For gas kit maintenance and adjustment watch my video here on my channel. Wish you good luck.

To wire a CDI box it's a 1985 Honda Shadow VT 1100 I bought one off eBay that's compatible with my bike they both had male plugs from my by female plug has 6 wires and the box I bought has four I was told that it is compatible with my bike I'm wanting to know if anybody knows how to wire the box that I bought does not have a male adapter to it just has two wires in a different color than the one that I have that has the male adapter to it

Hi Can Normal AC switch buttons be use to operate DC components.like fan light etc

There is no such thing like ac or dc switch. All switches have contacts and they bevave the same way in ac or dc. But there is a specification current rating or ampere rating for every switch contacts. If you have 12v dc system, there will be higher the current rating for appliences like fan, lights or heaters. So you need high current rating switches compared to ac 220v where same fan and light would have much less current rating hence they need less current rating switches. This is the difference. Anyhow you can use toggle switches from automotive parts suppliers which have much big current rating at reasonable price. Hope you may get my point.

What about the trigger pulse? How / where did you get the trigger from?

Triggering pulse is coming from a small triggering coil installed outside the magneto. For the purpose a small magnet is installed outside body of main rotating magnet. The small magnet and the trigger coil is installed in the position of top dead center of the piston.

@JahanZeb1976 thanks, I assume that the flywheel internal magnets don't interfere with the trigger coil? And that the built in CDi advance curve adjusts the timing.?

Adjust clutch cable and down side screw and nut with engine for clutch.
