I grew up going to this park. I haven't been back in about a decade at this point. Watching this walk-through brought back a lot of memories of being a kid and being absolutely scared to death and thrilled all at the same time. So glad to see this park is still the best in the world. I really need to get back and get on these new rides! Thanks for posting the vid Jay!
This video persuaded me to go to cedar point. Thank you so much for making this video. It was the greatest amusement park I have ever been to and I'm so excited to go back
cedar point is like my second home. i have been going there every year for 9 years, plus staying in hotel breakers for a couple nights. also never missing out on halloweekends, i defiantly recommend going there even though its expensive. its worth the money
Thanks. I've thought about it, that and doing voice-over work. But in that kind of business, it's more about who you know than the talent you might have. I have yet to make the right connections.
Jay Ducharme Yeah I figured it's not the easiest career to get in to. Seems like a lot of jobs out there you have to know people. Sucks, but that's life I guess.
love this video im heading back to cedar point in 2 weeks for the first time since 1997 lotta new rides for me...last time i was there the magnum and raptor were the top notch coasters....think im in for a treat
I'm going there in July from New Orleans! So excited! I'll be getting the fast past as well. I think it'll be worth it since ill be going there for 1 day.
Okay for starters.. Pink's Not 50's themed. It's Windseeker(not jammer) Try MaxAir instead of frisbee. Power Tower, not power shot... the "enterprise" is actually named Whitches wheel, the "spider" is called the Monster.. Gemini still runs 6 when they can... It was a good video thank you for making it, as a park employee for a few years I just had to fix those things
Thanks! Cedar Point worked well for a walk thru because it has a fairly linear layout, which many other parks don't. It would require more pre-planning to avoid a confusing mess at someplace like Busch Gardens. Lake Compounce is a good candidate, though, and that will probably be next.
ah great sunny weather days at CP are awesome. That's when you do want to walk around once and take it all in. I have season pass so you don't feel pressed for time. On a one day pass it'd be touch to say. Small crowds are awesome too : Usually in May.
I'm going on June 12th and I can't wait. This will be my 3rd time and every other Amusement Park pales in comparison. They don't call it the Roller Coaster Capital of the World for nothing!
Cedar Point is actually going to be my university graduation present, have been a dream to go since I was a kid, thanks for making this video to give an idea of where everything is. When I go to six flags here in Texas I usually go on a Tuesday or Wednesday cause it's less crowded, is that the same for Cedar Point?
I know why the line for Gatekeeper was long. Two reasons 1. You said at one point you filmed this early in the morning. Most people go directly for gatekeeper cause it's right there. 2. The ride opened just a few months prior. That may also explain the long line cause the other rides (like Magnum XL) have short (or at least shorter) lines.
A few things: - Cedar Point is not the largest amusement park in the world. Six Flags Great Adventure is. Cedar Point is appx. 360 acres while SFGA is 510 acres. - Windjammer was a crappy togo coaster that was shortly at knotts. ... and wtf?!? There's a Pink's Hot Dogs in Ohio? I thought they were only in the Hollywood, CA area =X The original one here usually has at least a one hour line -And which ride at C.P. always has the longest queue line and appx. usually how long? I live near Six Flags Magic Mountain and for us that would have to be X2 for sure. Since it ever opened as X the lines are always 3-4 hours long even when they usually have 2-3 trains and just an observation it's quite odd for me to see a crowded theme park with only caucasians... Here at Magic Mountain, Disneyland, Knotts, and Universals it's pretty well divided ethnic wise. Culture shock in a way i guess
If you stay at a Cedar Point property, you get exclusive ride time on selected coasters before the park opens (as well as various discounts). Also, depending on how many days you're staying, a season pass can be more economical than a few single-day passes. It's also good all season for other Cedar Fair parks.
I did this in 2006. I think it took 1hr from the front of the parking lot and back again. I say that because back then I had a MiniDV tape camcorder not HD and a tape was 1hr. I went thru the arcade also. Somebody said "Someone had a lot sf time on their hands." I said well A) with a season pass I'm walking thru it anyway B) you watched C) please see A & B above lol
TTD is 420ft this is true (hence my user ID plus a niece coincidence Dan Marino's career TD passes : ) My friend has pushed it over a couple times when it's been stuck. He takes pics with his iPhone lol (yeah they're allowed to do that off hours)
Fwiw Millennium is 310ft tall. Check out rcdb dot com (the drop is 300 ft) : ) My friend rode it for TV history, National Geo, Discovery (over and over and over lol) My other friend inspects it. If you want to see how they get up there check out my Millennium Force Stuck video. Not something you see every day. btw they have to climb over the top and push a button to tell the computer it's been inspected before it can run.
17:29. Actually not completely true. Moonsault Scramble, a Meisho roller coaster built at Fuji-Q Highland in Japan was the first (1983, and 229 feet tall).
+MontagnaMagica Thanks for pointing that out. However, Moonsault was a shuttle coaster, like the Point's Wicked Twister. Magnum was the first complete circuit coaster to exceed 200 feet in height.
Why does Cedar Point call itself the roller coaster capital of the world when they're second in coaster collection? Magic Mountain is the true roller coaster capital of the world!
Did they find you creepy talking to your camera by yourself? I feel like you have a bunch of vlogs of you talking to the camera in your attic, hidden away from the population.
Jay! STOP walking through Cedar Point and "Acting" like you know everything about it... because you DON'T! You voice is irritating enough without having to listen and laugh at you, for giving out wrong information. Have you nothing better to do with your time?
