Very good video, and speaker analysis using different amp scenarios. Definitely in the top 10 in my book on quality YT videos. I could listen to and play the lovely Soldano all day and night long, I'm feeling your Eddie rhythm vide in it! My favorite progression starts here: 5:23
Really nice tune. To me they both are solid choices. The H75 deserves more credit I think. It's very HD sounding the way it cuts the high fuzz and still sounds deep and crisp. Not an easy feat for speakers. It also roars through the mix amazingly. I see it's an 8 ohm, I wonder how the 16 would sound.
Time is passing and after a few years i still keep coming back "home" to your channel my Friend ....These tones, your riffs are just simply amazing ..I dare to say that your records are references ....Best Greetings from Tirol!Ps.:after lots of experiments with different amps I've decided to get a 1987x ....now I'm chasing THE SPEAKERS from around 1970 to it...not an easy task...;-)
Ended up here because I am looking to buy an Engl Metalmaster 20 and a 1x12 cab setup and thanks to your video I've made up my mind! :) Also, amazing piece of music! You deserve more subs so this is my second subscribe on any channel ever. :)
Just ordered a pair of H75s. It's really hard to tell what they actually sound like because many components in the chain can alter its true tone (Microphone, Mic Placement, Mic Pre, Interface, Guitar, Pickups, etc). I'm lookin forward to trying them out though!
Hey man, I'm jeff, your proud 52nd subscriber. I just wanted to let you know that I really, REALLY like your videos and the tone you're getting from your amps and speakers. I'm into mixing and home studios and I own a mesa roadking myself but never have I ever gotten such an awesome tone from it ! Can't wait for your next vids, keep up the awesome work !
Hi Jeff, thanks for subscribing :) Cool amp, I used to have a roadster (I really liked the tweed setting on that amp). With me it's always a lot of trial and error with mixing/recording, just have to keep at it. I watched your solo video, you can really play!
Yeah, the breakupy cleans are really nice on the roadking, but for me the fizz tends to go out of control when I switch to high gain. Thanks for the nice words about my playing :) If you are interested, I'll be posting some other more mix oriented things soon (as soon as I can shoot videos actually) but don't feel obliged :)
I think you have a lot of talent in your compositions and mixes, I really like your style, I feel identified with this, I have seen your videos of Randall Iso and Beyer 88, I have the same Randall as you and I also modified it, the change is for Better without a doubt, I actually bought the same Beyes as you, and it's amazing combined with my Marshall JVM Satch ... I hope you keep raising your music, you have to show it to the people I love in this video the acoustics at 5:24, I fly ... what tuning is it?
Thank you for the kind words, I really appreciate it. The Beyer is one of my favourite mics, it is much fuller in sound than others I have used, glad you are liking yours! I am working on more videos, just takes more time than I would like to do them. The tuning used is DADGAD tuned down to B, so the tuning is B-F#-B-E-F#-B (I think), I find more inspiration in tunings like this. Thanks again!
thanks to this video, i am now a proud owner of 2x12 cab loaded with both of those speakers :) aaaaand it made me crave the soldano even more :D but the biggest point is, that music is just so great! album plz, now, im waiting
I'd love a cab with them both in, must sound huge! The Soldano is a great amp, I'll take the blame if you get one :). Thanks for the kind words, I appreciate it.
@@SubjectiveRobot It's been a long time, but if you're still interested, you can actually hear it in a song over here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YnVpom2bMzM.html
Hey I have some feedback :D I really enjoyed the video, but I see that you have a yt channel that is probably gonna get bigger, (every channel does), I see a room for improvement in your recording technique, so here I go: Mesa tends to fart with low frequencies a lot, you need to dial the amp in such a way that would not fart the lows, then mic your cab in such a way that would minimize the "rumble". Then add a high pass filter. I get it that you were trying to get a true tone here, and that is awesome, and well everyything here sounds actually pretty good, but the low end is out of control, so you may want to change maybe also use a multiband compressor to compress lowend separately from other frequencies, or maybe even prallel process it Don't get me wrong, I love the vid, you just got yourself a subscriber :)
Thanks for the feedback, advice and kind words, I really do appreciate it! Low end is always something that I struggle with in a mix, especially when trying to go for a more natural/straight from the mic sound. I either cut too much, or leave too much in. Again, thanks for the feedback :)
Hey man, wondering if you were planning to release new videos at some point ? I'd really be great. Even years later that riff at 4:19 still cuts through my soul like knife... Are you planning to release it as a song or something ?
I think the G12H is better for Rectifiers,. I going to buy a used single rectifier but i have to make my own cabinet. In this comparision sounds, feel more mids with the G12H and is that the sound i want. The rectifier with V30 sound too scooped and loose.
Thanks! Drums are steven slate, a mix of CLA and David Bendeth packs, the strings came with my copy of Cubase (HALion Symphonic Orchestra). The Guitars are recorded using an Iso cab with a Beyer M88, acoustics using a SM57. Bass was a DI and a distorted copy of the same DI. Think that's all :)
IDK, overall the whole mix sounds dark and lacks definition. I use both of those speakers but I've never had an issue with them getting lost in the mix, and that's what is happening in this video. I'm curious about your mic choice and placement, along with other variables like cables, pick ups, string age, compression, EQ.. Those are excellent amps, and those speakers are great for any style of music. I'm listening on AKG headphones but the mix sounds very substandard. I'm sorry, that's my opinion.
For my Egnater Renegade creamback H 75 was a dissapointment. It feels somehow too pronounced in the mids, but still somehow hollow... Treble and bass is there, but they are not so organic like in v30. I don't like too much mids in v30 but I can balance it somehow with eq. With creambacks I'm lost... Clean channel with H75 is outatanding, but drive feels restrained.
My only experience with both speaker is only through IR with amp sim. So, I want to know your opinion on this matter. - Why do you prefer V30 ? - With distorted/hi gain sound, do you think Creamback is muddier than V30 ? - What is your opinion on 2x12 cab with V30 and creamback 75 for hi gain sound ?
I prefer the wider frequency response the V30 has, just feels more powerful to play. As the Mesa amps where designed for the V30, they just sound right with them. The Soldano can sound too bright with the V30 sometimes though, so it depends on what amp you would be using I guess. I wouldn't say the Creamback is muddier, just less focused/more balanced in sound. They work very well together in a cab, they kind of fill out the sound - V30 more treble and Bass and the Creamback filling out the middle.
Rendy Andrian I just put a Creamback in my Marshall dsl40c...even with the treble at its highest, the speaker keeps the screaming highs out pf your tone...which actually sucks. It literally sounds like the speaker reduces your gain by a notch or two.
Freakin Awesome. Exactly how to compare and contrast speakers and amps. Thank you. I'm researching what to put in two 2x12 cabs. I want a modern cab and a vintage cab. In the modern 2x12 I'm thinking one V30 and one g12H-75 Creamback for a 6l6 based amp ...think soundgaren/suicidal tendencies. In the vintage cab with a Marshall I would want to put in two greenback ...but i'm thinking they would lack some bass response ...so I'm thinking one Greenback and one G12M-65 Creamback., this would be for Classic rock/old school metal like Rush/Blue oyster cult/VanHalen 1&2. Anybody have some feedback???
Thanks! The modern cab combo sounds great, certainly would do the job. Don't have much experience with Greenbacks and the 65 Creamback, would love to have some greenbacks but the 25 watts rating scare me. Would love to have a vintage sounding cab though
I can look in to you it dude, thanks for the interest! It's kinda difficult to answer the bpm as it's a weird song, I just looked at the project and it is set up at 195bpm in 3\4 throughout. In reality, the song does shift from 3/4 to 4/4 and jumps around tempo wise, but it all fits around 195bpm in 3/4 in the project. I'm weird like that, hope that made sense!
There is no such thing as a Vintage G10. G10 means a 10 inch guitar speaker. Both of these are G12 speakers. We can't possibly know your setup and what would sound good with it.
You have a great sound - but if you also added clips with much less gain I wonder would the subtleties of each speaker be easier to detect. A sound JUST breaking up. I run a full stack of V30s (Made in England) and a 4x12 with Blackbacks. I have only one creamback - also mid 70s but am interested in the differences between that and the V30s - hence the comment.
