Love the both. I have a 2x12 of the different cream backs and I love the. I played my 4x12 of vintage 30s after and was not that blown away. Yet in the clips I like the v30's. Thanks for the demo.
Both sound good in a different way but to me the V30's are crisper and clearer. They seem to breathe better. But it's all in what type of music you prefer. I would say Creamback's for heavier stuff and V30's for classic rock to country. Good video though!! Could really here the difference.
M. Ray Unfortunately, no LOL! I still am thinking about it, though. Sometimes I contemplate trying an H30 instead, just to see. Edit: Contemplating an M65 Creamback like Reinhold puts in the Helios 2x12, which seems to basically be the same other than swapping one V30 for an M65... 😂

I love them both and the best part is the both pair great with greenbacks. I have a 4x12 with 2 greenbacks and 2 g12h creambacks as well as a 4x12 cab with 2 greenbacks and 2 vintage 30s. The greenbacks offer 'brown sound' as we all know. the vintage 30s are at their best playing vintage or clone plexi heads. the h75 creambacks offer a touch deeper tone much like AiC's facelift album and I'm sure Cantrell used greenbacks then, but the tones I get from my creambacks remind me of facelift. just a deeper darker greenback
v30s fo metal, creambacks for classic crunch. i have two of both in x in a port city os 4x12. i love it cause i get that hint of recto tone with the v30s mixed with a lil marshall upper end from the creambacks. kinda different sound that i have to get used to. but very balanced none of the less. v30s are a little colder soundinf while the creambacks have that mid range bark. give or take, they both have their ow sound but like them both.
I'm confused by how much I like the H75 Creamback vs how much I dislike the M65 Creamback. They are two completely different sounding speakers IMO. Rarely do I ever hear a Vintage 30 that I like in anything - they're just so piercing and up the middle IMO.
I felt the same way. The M65 sounded great in clips, and even at home. But live, I preferred the larger magnet. It just felt firmer on the bottom end. As far as V30s, I've learned that they're not all created equal. The older UK, vs newer chinese, vs newer UK MESA V30s, are all pretty different sounding. I've found that the Mesa V30s are hands down the best of the bunch, for my style.
Both together in a 212 cab would be amazing wall of sound. I like the sound of the cream back better for clean, crunch and medium gain. I liked the high gain better in the V30's
switched out the stock shiva 1x12 combo cl80 for a v30, and loved it at first, but now to me its almost too much mids and hard to control volume, so gonna try a creamback g12m-65 that I have in a marshall 1936 style cab that i hardly use
I’ve listened to this clip dozens of times - very helpful comparison! By chance, have you also compared either of these speakers against the CL80 that comes stock in the Shiva combos & 1x12 Shiva cabs?
Got Creambacks with my Bogner- SOOOOO much better than V30 it's not even close imo. But I don't want anyone to know that, cause my rig will sound better than yours haha.
Nice Nick. replacing my V30s with H75s. wattage between these is hardly noticeable so an M65 would not be a better comparison. the biggest difference would be db rating and these two speakers are much closer in that respect and with volume. the M65 is a lower db and quieter.
+Pc Gamer 5150 ....nah, it depends on the amp. I have the M65s and don't find them dark at all. one cab with Lynchbacks, one with Creamback M65s and one with H75s. I am sick of high db, modern speakers. that is one reason I may end up replacing the H75s as well
V30 in this video,better allaround and presence... I have 20th XTC and 2x12OS with Golds (had V30 in it, but they didn't work for me). I also have 4x12 with Scumbacks (BM75/J75 mix) and they sound sweet. I had V30 in 4x12 and it sounded sweet also! V30 are not that bad, it just sound spiky by itself, but when put in the mix, it cut through....for just one guitar in a band, Creambacks would be great, but for lead guitar V30 I suppose...and it depends from the amp you are using it with cabinet...
What do they sound like together? Can you put out another video using both cabs? I have a Orange 4x12 with V30s that I'm thinking swapping out 2 of them for the 2 of the Creamback 75s.
@Oddities of Morocco Creamback 75 and V30 is a killer combo ! Although right now I have a Portcity OS 212 with WGS Veteran 30 and it sounds incredible !
