I've seen this happen quite regularly in the peaks. One side is used to get everyone off, then the other side is opened to let people on. However, it's usually open doors on one side, pause until people are off, open doors on other side, close doors on first side, ensure everyone is onboard, close doors on second side.
The next station is Stratford please mind the gap between the train and the platform. Change here for the jubilee line, the DLR, and national rail services
This happened to me at the same place when on a TFL Rail Class 315 Train to Liverpool Street via Stratford. But it wasn't opening but closing the doors of a Central Line 1992 Tube Stock formed of 8 coaches.
Happenes occasionally at Tanah Merah station in Singapore. However at Ang Mo Kio in Singapore, the doors are supposed to be operated like this as the train is a halfway terminating train and would return to Marina Bay
The drivers gone mad. He cant forgot to open both doors. He is the first person to see platflorms on both sides or maybe his is way to early in his schedule so he just open the right ones first then the left one next.
+Manuel Prieto It looks fast in the film but when you are on the train it does not feel very fast. For me the more annoying feature is that trains on other lines are so much slower.
citytransportinfo List of lines from fastest to slowest: 1. Victoria 2. Central 3. Jubilee 4. Metropilitan 5. Waterloo and City (Slower than Central because of shorter trains so if it went faster it would crash) 6. Bakerloo 7. Piccadilly 8. Northern Joint 9. Circle - Hammersmith and City - District
The answer is quite simple. The Central Line train takes longer to get to Liverpool Street and longer to exit there but are much more frequent. What happens is that passengers wait for the Central Line but if they hear a main line train being announced as a Central Line train comes in they will charge through the Central Line train to to other train conflicting with those coming the other way.
Imagine the train being so busy, people didnt realise the plst 3A doors will actually open and they fell off the train, thinking the train will leave without plat 3mdpors closing. Also 1. The doors 2. The announcements Both of them were weird You ‘now why the doors were weird And its so hard to hear the announcements. When the train was approaching, i heard “the next station is (i didnt hear what the station said but i, pretty sure that didnt say stratford)” When plat 3A doors oñened, the announcement was said twice before the doorw closed, but it never said the destination
@@CitytransportInfoplus whenever i use Stratford (about twice a month), i always use the eastern end with the jubilee line plats at the end of interchange path, not the interchange path with the exit at the end. Yeah, both has the other exit at the other end but theres like 3 exots.
+VincentKoh LUMCFan It would really annoy me if the doors always opened like this, as I sometimes use the trains as a walking route between platforms 3 and 3a, so that I can get to / from the new passageway between platforms that does not serve platform 3a.
...and the trains on the Northern and Jubilee lines, although these lines have few stations far enough apart for the trains to reach their higher speeds.
Mate when I recorded on my android phone I'd the central line at Stratford it did not save if I knew before I would smash my phone and break it to hell
Over the years I have also lost footage because of a malfunction, the films runs out (or memory card is full) or even because I inadvertently forgot to press the 'record button' . Once I successfully recorded things but then had my camcorder stolen in a mugging. Yes, it sucks!
In 2012 I have saw this in operation on a visit to Guangzhou, China. Short dwell times are therefore possible. www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/guangdong/guangzhou/subway/ In 2010 the Chengdu subway had opened the week we visited and their new station in the Centre of the city has a double platform arrangement to allow this kind of system. Pity you did not film this at a busier time. ;-( Looks like it must be Sunday morning.
Neil Hamilton Several cities have stations with platforms on both sides. Sometimes one platform is for arriving passengers and the other platform for departing passengers. I filmed this on a Monday afternoon, I was amazed that the train was so empty, it was not normal. It is normally busier at that time!
citytransportinfo Thanks. If there were lots of people it would have been hard to show what was happening. Stratford looks like a very interesting / useful interchange station. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stratford_station
What i hear: This, is. Stratford. Please, mind the gap. Between the train, and the platformChange here for thEJubilee line, DLR. And nationalRail services . ,ea s
