Hey bro i like the video but what if you start with a RAW stripped upper? You say you try not to get too much coating ,inside the upper but i would think you wouldnt want any? As it could gun up while firing the rifle.....no? And when spraying should i spray the threads? Im a total greeny bro so forgive any stupid questions but i want my 1st attempt to come out as nice as i can get it?lol I have an Anderson ODG Ceracote lower that looks kind of dark? Almost like theres a black in it....? But im hoping that is just because the regular ODG ceracote is normally that dark ,compared to anodized or some other ODG coating? In any case as long as the ODG is close i dont mind if "all" the parts are just a bit different. Ill consider it a "green" multicam!?! LOL
Cerakote says that an anodised finish has enough profile for the paint to stick to. I sweep blast all anodised parts just to make sure there is nothing left on the surface.
I'm am doing the same project now. Did you completely remove all the coating on the interior of the receivers or just " put some tooth" into the surface with a quick sweep? Thanks
Annodized material has enough existing profile for the paint so I just give it a sweep blast. if it is a painted receiver I will white blast it to make sure there is enough profile.
