Most of the boys are American too. Canada doesn’t have enough sports colleges as the state s. In past many come from states to play CFL to get experience hopefully go to NFL. But I think USFLand XFL are hurting the league, a lot of players going there.
as a Brazilian fan of gridiron football I had never even heard of the CFL until I visited Canada a few years back and it absolutely blew me away. it was everything I wish the NFL were, with fast-paced games and players checking their egos at the locker room to deliver a truly collective spectacle. only downside to me is poor game attendance. incomprehensible and unforgivable for such a legend of a league
Thanks for enjoying our game. As for attendance last night was a Thursday night game in a province where fans drive several hours for a game. We have a five hour trip each way so if we want to see a Thursday game we have to take 2 days off work.
Attendance depends on the province and the city. Toronto doesn't give two fs about CFL unfortunately. Saskatchean is fine, Winnipeg is great, Hamilton is fine, Ottawa is great, Montreal is great. Calgary is okay, Edmonton not doing good but that is expected, the team is not doing good and people are not interested in them, BC is doing okay.
@teo_heel as an argos fan myself, unfortunately the city as a whole doesn't bother with the game anymore which hurts but the fans who do go I'd say are as hard-core as any in the league. The games saw growing up in the 80s were great but for me moving into the dome killed a lot of interest in the city. I hated games there. They should be playing outdoors in all weather. The move to bmo field was so amazing. Playoff games in the snow by the lake are so great I'm always after everyone to go. They don't know what they're missing.
The riders defence will be given a lot of credit which is deserved but without Patterson pulling through in his first start it would've been a different story. Great win against a tough team boys.
@@teo_heel I don't believe so. The CFL will keep the kickoff because it is one of the few sporting moment that make it's game exciting like a the Queen's Plate, Kentucky Derby, a NHL Game 7 OT goal, a walk off homer in Baseball. The NFL killed off kickoffs making their game boring
Argos got 20 to Montreal's 30. It's certainly gonna be a fun match-up in week 8. I'm looking at a 09/10 rematch now. The Riders look good, but the Als have just dominated. Only 1 of the 4 games had less than a 10 point difference in score (23-20 @ Elks, Week 2). Bombers: Bombed Argos: Shipwrecked RedBlacks: 30-1 Als @ Halftime
The Rider D forced a couple of turnovers and the others were a combination of good defensive playing and being in the right place at the right time. It wasn’t all Toronto…
As a rider fan im optimistic, the defense has been really good but you can't expect 4-5 turnovers a game. Eventually that will stop so we'll see if they start winning games without depending on that and i'll feel even better
Entertaining game! The difference came down to turnovers: the many committed by Toronto and the clean game performed by Saskatchewan. Lots of great individual efforts tonight.
I was really happy with the lack of penalties. But I saw some holding the officials missed by both teams, or maybe the officials are just letting some of the small stuff go so the game keeps flowing? Either way it looked about equal for each team so I’m OK with it.
He is good but did your team get rid of him? There is a lot of politics behind the scenes that we never see so it might not be that simple. Either way let’s just be glad that he is playing here in Canada entertaining us.
What a defensive show by Riders. Poor Dukes... 4 INTs, 0 TDs. Shea Patterson looked more than fine. And Janarion Grant once again scored a TD on a punt return against Riders, but this time it wasn't enough for his team to win. Riders for the first time since 2013 are starting with 4 wins. Will they end it with a Grey Cup like they did in 2013? Who knows, it's still early in the season.
So happy for the Riders, Shea finally shook the cobwebs off in the second and moved the team. They're not perfect, but a fun, aggressive and scrappy young team. After last night, Duke's is going to see the ghosts of Hazzard coming, Doh !
Watched this live too many ppl making excuses for the Argos not enough credit given to the rough rider's defense they also had a backup Qb playing too.
18 points off of turnovers. Some of those were poor offensive plays by Toronto that the Riders D took advantage of but 2 were strictly strong defensive plays that earned them the ball. Way to go Riders. Your D kept Toronto from scoring and helped set Patterson up for a big win.
This was a game between a team going backwards fast and the other team going forward with purpose…Sask. became winners the moment they rid themselves of Craig Dickenson, and this is coming from a Stamps fan…
@@teo_heelI agree , and it’s no worse than all the returns that we’re called back so far this year by ALL the teams , these refs are terribly inconsistent!
@@wintertime331 it's okay... those penalties are on "referee discretion". There're no 100% subjective definitions on what is holding and what is not holding.
Dukes has some potential. But, he can't through the long ball. We saw that far, far too many times this game. Dru Brees is another prime example of this, and he eventually became a superbowl winner.
He was a young 4-5 games under his belt , he will get better with time. He scramble wells knows the offence just has to make better decisions throwing.❤️🏈
That looked like men against kids; if SASK could play special teams better they'd have won by 20+. I'd be shocked if TOR won more than 6 games this season -- depending how many games they play against the Elk, of course.
Game started at 7pm local time on a Thursday night. I think there would be better attendance if it was a Friday night, or Saturday game. Ticket prices aren't terrible in most sections. A lot of people like to mingle in Pil Country or the 620 CKRM Lounge.
@@yxmichaelxyyxmichaelxy3074 Interception by Deontai Williams is clearly him stealing the ball from Damonte Coxie who was trying to catch the pass. Pick six by Marcus Sayles - pass flew through the hands of Damonte Coxie. Coxie is responsible for two interceptions. And he knew that, after the second interception caused by him not catching the ball he was visibly disappointed in his game. Yes, first Rolan Milligan interception is mostly on Dukes, Milligan red the passing route and easily cut the route. Second one... yeah, Dukes also didn't do well. 2 out 4, my bad.
The tsn camera crew needs to stop zooming in on every play as it goes on. It’s a bit sickening to see so many flashes and colours go by so fast and we can’t even see plays developing
Dukes is why Agros suck right now he is a terrible QB he always throws it where every single QB is taught not to do at all he thinks he's brady but he is Shea Patterson
Young Argo quarterback must be colour blind. Keeps throwing the ball to the guys in the green jump suits. Argos couldn't beat Sask even with their second string QB. You will never mistake Dukes for Chad Kelly. Don't care much for Dimwit the coach either. Offensive genius? Yeah. Sure.
Dear CFL, please stop allowing teams to change Uniforms so bloody often. This is ridiculous. I demand everyone return to their 2000 uniforms and stay that way.
