I have chainer too! In my deck I don’t play with any of your combos but I have one around “waste not” abusing it with magus of the wheel, sire o insanity and use tergrid god to keep all cards in your side. I’m using bone miser and Surly badgesaur to take value from my discard (they have a similar effect of waste not) Recently I found carnival of souls in my older staff and I’m playing the infinity combo carrion feeder + gravecrawler + blood artist / zulaport. Since you playing only with black and red they are a little bit limited so I’m using ardent elementalist and revolutionist to return solution already played back to your hands
Nice, this deck looks sick! Originally I wanted to make a kardur deck but I thought it would be boring to goad throughout the game but I remembered chainer and all the sweet etbs rakdos has and here we are lol
He's a fun guy! There a bunch of cool ways to build him. Because of the meta I play in, I can't win a Rakdos build off of a creature meta. So, I go non-combat damage and pull wins that way.
goad is super fun. i had a queen marchesa goad and it was awsome, turned it more in aikido but yea. goad is amazing because some ppl like to be defensive and not attack and that force the game to end fast and make stuff happens. goad is amazing, trying to make also a kardur
I love Chainer! I found him the same way you did, through the Anje precon. My deck is far more casual, I built it around ETB effects and attack triggers, with reanimate loops using junji the midnight sky, apprentice necromancer, and a few others. Some of my top performers in there are Archon of Cruelty and Bladewing, deathless tyrant. Super cool to see how you built it!
I was running things like that Bladewing cuz its pretty dope. How does the attack meta work for you with chainer? My LGS and other folks I play with would anticipate me reanimating big threats mid-game or late for attack triggers and counter the shit out of me lol.
@@aaroncalloway2898 I definitely run into that, but I’m fortunate enough to have a pod that plays a creature Meta and no blue 😅 so everyone kinda gets away with whatever they want. When I do play at LGSs, sometimes I can use Ilharg the raze boar to cheat out something like bladewing or archpriest of shadows. I definitely have been completely shut down before, I know exactly what you mean
I run chainer as a creature based deck using Doomed Necromancer to get Eldrazi out for 3 or 4 mana (depending on if i have Gravebreaker Lamia in play). Graveyard hate is the biggest weakness of the deck by far but with the perfect hand i can be hitting people with an Eldrazi turn 1 or hitting them with 10+ poison counters with tainted strike and a handful of other possible creatures like Flayer of the hatebound. I also love Bolas' Citadel in this deck as the creatures all get haste.
I was running eldrazi for a minute, and it was stupid every time the lines worked. Most of the games I had in that iteration of the deck put a huge target on my side of the table, and the dudes I play with got savvy to my degenerate ways
Chainer is also my fav. Been running him for some time, I should upload my list sometime. Have you tried Varragoth? It is super good with Anje's Ravager or Etali if you want to run it to
I used to run etali, and it was amazing, but I moved away from combat stuff cuz cheesing out big obvious threats like etali put a target on me on all the pods. AANNNDD being in rakdos our options for responses on the stacks are kinda crap lol. I run varragoth in another deck and he's awesome, but I have been working on curving this list down, and at the moment I don't think I could justify a cut for his spot on the curve
my chainer was normal not much combo other than kiki, i am going to do it like this because my playgroup play hard so whatever lol. Problem is i dont have entomb, raise of the dead or necromancy which are important for worldgorger (need to have something other than animate dead). This is probably the best way to run chainer because the power have gone up so much that meeh he is not that good, discard a card a lot can be a pain in those colors to reanimate. better to just reanimate once or 2 and finish the game.
I'm still tweaking and pushing him further. Right now, my list is pretty high up there in power. Chainer is not an optimal commander for competitive or high power because his lines require a lot of set up. I like the puzzle each game becomes, where you have to weave in and out of the lines. He can win handily, but its never going to be easy for rakdos. You do have the right idea tho. I try to time my chainer 1 turn before I know I have my combo. The table is always on high alert and always try to bully Chainer.
