@@applepoop10 Another good motor, I'm looking for another car alongside to also drive, after selling 2 cars (one that doesn't run "2003 Dodge Grand Caravan & the other that I actually drive "2013 Chrysler 200"). Idk when, but I'm for cheap beater and decent condition cars.😁😁😁😁😁💯💯👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
People forget that the 5.7 is restricted from factory. Restricted Intake, Heavy ass headers, gears made for daily driving. You unrestrict the 5.7 and you got a monster thats been finally freed from its cage
No point lol, the red sport fucks up scats so imagine what it does to a R/T lol. Trust me I know, I got my ass smoked by a Q50 red sport in my charger r/t lol
Okayyyy! Is that An Elusive E I see on the window of that Challenger? 😏 Say it with me now m-m...Mopar baby! 🤙 Great vid Sam I'm loving the split screen multiview. Flag person did a great job Cheers!
Well this was to be expected. 375 hp isnt slow by any means so its pretty funny when people are so shocked the hemi is as quick as it is but when it races cars in its HP range, it gets smoked. Too bad it weighs too much. Sounds pretty good too.
MSRP of rwd red sport is 3k less than a hellcat and 17k more than a scat pack in US, not sure about Canada price but I doubt it will be much different.
Finally another 5.7 banger. It was like 2 months since the last 5.7 race. Im surprised it didn’t take an L like all the rest of the 5.7 races on this channel 😂 btw i still love my hemi win or lose👍 idc i have hella fun in my 09 300c RWD, awesome muscle car exhaust, kick ass boston acoustics sound system, it can reach 165 mph i get 18 mpg & enough room to fit the kids. 👍👍
I honestly thought it would be closer. Those 3.0t are not slow in stock form. I'm not sure why the launches seemed so languid, even with AWD. I don't know if a tire change would've made a significant difference.
What tires on the Challenger ?(on what looks like replica SRT wheels) That appeared to launch hard with very little noticeable wheel spin. I thought for sure the Q60 would at least get the edge on the launch with AWD and the Challenger struggling for traction.
Sam you need to work on your reaction time, it would not have altered the outcome but it would be a better reflection of the cars ability. Also are you using launch control or brake boosting these turbo cars?
I’ve always had a special spot for the 5.7 than the other Hemi engines, nobody ever talks about it but it’s a really good engine for first time V8 buyers or people that came out of the 3.6 and wants a V8 but isn’t as absurd as the 6.2 and 6.4.
Nobody should be surprised on this. I actually owned a Q50 hybrid (until it was totaled 3 months ago) and a modded 5.7 L challenger 6MT. That was a surprisingly close race.
As a 5.7 Charger owner, this makes me happy 😂 I know we’re not nearly as quick as Scats and above, but coming from a stock 9th gen civic Si, this was definitely a major upgrade for me lol.
Well, still gotta love the Inifinity Q60, and still a reliable, yet fun car to drive I am sure, and prob more reliable and costs less to maintain compared to the Challenger. However, also gotta love the Hemi. The Challenger is a great family sports car with plenty of space and power. The new Challenger I believe (I saw a headline) that they come now with AWD? But they prob didn't keep the hemi. Both cars are very nice, but I prefer the Infinity, because at the end of the day, I am not trying to be the fastest off the line or in a straight drag race. Great vid as always Sam.
They are close performance wise ?? The Hemi has 70 more hp and 100 more lb ft. Or are you thinking because of the 300 lbs weight which really is not a lot when comparing the hp/tq huge gap
Something tells me that Infiniti has some mileage on it because I know they're faster than that. I owned an 08 G35, and I used to walk Mustangs in that car and was really close with a ZL1 Camaro.
Ive noticed that a few foreign companues use the wheel horsepower as their ratings. And i would think a twin turbo 3.0L V6 would make more than 300hp since many V6s make that with no turbos. Also the guy said his car was 345hp, its 372hp.
Can I just say thank you? everytime I have asked u or someone asks you of a race weather its accord or my favorite car( GLI) or KAI or Supra, you are always positive and make it happen. I know we normally complain saying please post this please post that but that's just our excitement kicking in. Cheers Sam, you seriously are the ONLY car GURU of RU-vid in my eyes
Hard to tell, but that doesn't look like stock rubber on that 5.7. He is getting some surprising good launches with no spin, I'm thinking those are wider treads on the back. Still great job out launching the AWD.
You're so right...The accord does 0-60 in 5.5 seconds and the R/T is all over the place at 5.2 to 5.6..About equal...I like honda's, but I prefer the RWD, nice sounding V8 and it handles a bit better than the accord..A bit, cuz hondas handle very well and cuz of front wheel drive, it's of course a little lacking...
It’s crazy that car lost so bad my Alfa Romeo giulia ti sport 2.0 turbo will blister a 5.7 hemi 2 lengths to the 1/4 and on roll races it has no problem pulling out on them also! And I’m also a mopar guy that’s why I stayed within on the Alfa Romeo.
I currently own a Challenger rt with the 5.7. I’ve rented an Infinity q60 and q50 multiple times. The power in the Infinity just feels different. I’m actually surprised by this. I thought it would be alot closer.
300hp 3.0t pretty even matchup i must say the R/T has a healthy pull, a redsport 400 would be more 392 scatpack territory we all know it would walk an R/T calm down boys
Turbo lag for sure and it’s hot out. Either way if you mod a 5.7 it maxes out. Q60 can be modded to push 500+ easy. Plus these guys around even building boost to launch it.
@@mikelee9349 bruh what lol of course they can lol cause its not a regular v6 in them, there very efficient v6s with twin turbo or NA. It just these people on this channel cant launch or drive the cars for shit. All the races with ALL the cars on this channel should've had different outcomes imo. Q50/Q60 regular 3.0t and the rt challenger literally have the same 0-60mph times the two cars in this video should literally be neck to neck and same with the 392 scat and q50 or q60 rs400
I mean the cars 0-60mph times are damn near if not the same they should be neck to neck if both drivers are competent. Same with 392 scat and q50/q60 rs400. Dude driving the q60 does not know how to push them accordingly definitely can't launch for shit either lol a lot of the q50/q60 videos and all their races in general on this channel should've had different outcomes imo
5.7’s don’t come with 3.09’s wether it’s the Charger or Challenger. The challenger doesn’t have any performance advantages over the Charger besides it weighing a bit less
That and nobody mentions the fact that they’re in Canada, so everybody that volunteers their cars seem to always have the awd version. Awd is always heavier and loses more power to the wheels than their rwd counterpart. So the race should’ve been against a rwd 3.0t, not against a redsport like every noob here has been mentioning.
Couple of things Sam,if you watch your playback you are always a tick or two slow on your reaction time, and lining up 300 horse with a 375 horse don’t seem a fair fight:).let’s line up a Red Sport with it and see what happens..
It’s the car, it’s not drivers reaction. Turbo lag is a huge factor. Plus you don’t want to jump the race just to please Q60 fans :). It matters very little, It lost on a roll
The other issue is Sam that you are racing a sport car against a farm equipment.dodges are used to pull horses and taking live stock to the auction on Saturdays.haha..
Honestly was quite surprised by the outcome. Thought for sure the Q60 would get em. Can’t tell if it was the outstanding launches from the challenger or the “poor” launches of the Q60
@@3Pedal_Accord poor launching with the Q60. I'm willing to bet that if the switch drivers the result would be different. What's the point of having turbochargers if you're not gonna spool them up
They don't know how to properly drive the q60. The cars in this vid should literally be damn near same speed neck to neck same with the 392 scat and q50/q60 rs400 or if not tbh the q60 a lil quicker overall especially off digs then the chally gone take it on the top end ofc but dude driving the q60 on this channel cant launch for shit a lot of the q50/q60 videos on this channel should've had different outcomes imo
Another vid from Sam for those who would like to see the popular q50 red sport vs Scatpack. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3pAN6OR37zA.html
sam can't drive or launch for shit lmao these cars are about the same speed besides high top end. People keep using this channel to link when they want to see what car is more efficient but this channel has no credibility imo lol cause these cars 0-60mph times are literally the same these races should be much closer shouldn't they ? Same with the 392 scat and the rs400 q50 or q60
I’ve personally walked a few older 5.7 RT challengers (one being a 16’ Shaker) and was side by side with one 8 speed Charger R/T in my 2003 350z, it’s a De Coupe, so I’m thinking the Q has it…….. Edit: The Q didn’t have it and I’m mind blown, how tf did I keep up with multiple R/T’s and even see the front of a few Challengers in a low revving, minivan powered sports car?!? I need to race a newer 19-22’ 8 speed obviously. Anything older than 16 was literally a walk in the park 🤣
