The topping of a champagne bottle with a sword is a good myth. Also the dimple in the bottom of of the bottle, is there for you thmb to sit in as you pour the champagne. And when the glass is full , you turn the bottle to stop the flow of the wine.

Jamie's torpedo was flying because the CG was behind the CP. A little weight added to the front should've solved the issue.

They manipulated verdicts a lot specifically because of network pressure or because they realised they just showed off how to easily commit crimes. Or because of insurence pressures.... it was also prolly because they knew it would generate more revisits and letters. Remember this is from the peak mis 00s manufactured drama era of tv. A lot of the final decisions prolly didnt come from the presenters even though it was presented as if they are the final authority. Ultimately i always wonder what it would have been if they had been able to become a youtube channel back then...

I went to a truck fire not too long ago which had a mixed load manifest. We had no idea it had medicinal stuff apart of that load. There were crates (i'm guessing as most of the combustible stuff were ashes at the end) loaded with asthma puffers and they were literally going off like a gatling gun and shooting further then a hundred metres, not feet! The cleanup took hours and even a couple of weeks later, medicinal glass vials and exploded gas cylinders were still found littered in the bush and a fair few that had launched a couple hundred metres up and down the highway.. Edit: Myth confirmed as they only had a small number of pallets that only encompassed the centre of the truck. If the truck was fully loaded and was refrigerated, the sides would have burnt way before the bottles as they are only a very thin layer of aluminium on the outside and inside and foam in the centre. Only then the bottles would pop hence sending corks everywhere as there is no longer sides on the trailer. It's common sense.. I've been to too many truck fires, what they try and portray here is weak and not in anyway a truck would carry goods..

if the rocket engine was above water the thrust will be way better sorry I'm only 6:35 into video so far
@MrMarinus18
@MrMarinus18 3 месяца назад
That's not true. A rocket underwater provides way more thrust cause of the resistance of the water to the hot gasses and the water pressure also keeps the thrust focused longer. Also the way the torpedo is supposed to work is that the rocket is angled slightly downwards to push the rocket up with the fins in the back pushing it back down, this is identical to how an airplane functions. An airplane's wings aren't actually on the center of mass, they are slightly ahead of it so that the plane naturally wants to pitch up with the tail pushing it back down. If they had the rocket exactly parralel then the rocket would not be controllable. You want to have 2 opposing forces so that it can compensate any time it get's out of position. The problem they had was that the rocket engine was too powerful and overpowered the back fins trying to keep it down.
@-danR
@-danR Месяц назад
@@MrMarinus18 Back-pressure fallacy. A higher ambient pressure producing more thrust is a common misconception. You want the exhaust products to escape as easily as possible since the thrust is proportional to the ejected mass x ejection velocity. For this reason, rocket engines perform better at altitude than at sea-level, and the effect is enhanced in, for example, the SpaceX vacuum Raptor--commonly called RVac--over its sea-level counterparts in the booster: they are fitted with a longer/wider bell for the expansion nozzle.
@MrMarinus18
@MrMarinus18 Месяц назад
@@-danR You haven't provided any argument though. Drag is much higher at lower altitudes and that more than cancels out the effect. The thrust is not only about the amount of gas but in what direction it is going. You want it to remain focused in one direction so it get's more time to accelerate. Of course rocket engines perform better at high altitude when the payload is lighter and the drag is lower. Even planes fly more efficiently at high altitude and this is despite the fact they need to expend additional energy to compress the thinner air.
@MrMarinus18
@MrMarinus18 Месяц назад
@@-danR The whole reason why rockets have bells is to direct the expanding gasses to go straight down. Expanding gasses moving sideways is wasted thrust and could push it off course.

Hm the trailer was on an highway, tipically highway are raised up compared to the land around. So it had more space to fall, and that translates to higher range. It's quite possible that it got to 100 feet.

Howdy Americans, you obviously know that it ain’t Champagne, unless the grape is harvested in the homonymous region of France and is matured with the Champenoise “in the bottle” method, right? What you have here is called, sparkling white wine!
@ek-nz
@ek-nz 3 месяца назад
I think you misheard. They called it “shampain” which is an English word for sparkling white wine. I’m sure they wouldn’t call it Champagne as everyone knows that has to come from grapes harvested in the homonymous region of France and be matured with the Champenoise method. English speakers favour the more economic syntax, and shampain is much easier to say than sparkling white wine. And it has one syllable fewer than Champagne, so that’s an added bonus.
@Countryboy071
@Countryboy071 2 месяца назад
It's obviously pronunciation. If you went into a store or restaurant and asked for a bottle of "Champain" you would be shown what "Champagne " they have, not sparkling wine, prosecco or Cava etc.
