Any concern for kat or the fact the mom literally had to restart school because of time missed over Chandler is all completely lost on Chandler. He doesn’t even pretend to care about anything except himself.

Yeah I think it’s a mixture of hope, denial and wanting to know the truth. If they are nasty to him then he won’t talk to them at all and because he’s in prison he has the all the power because they can’t call him. I am sure in the beginning they were hopeful that he wasn’t guilty and as time went by they may have wanted to believe that if he did do it it was due to a mental breakdown. And then they may have realized that he was truly guilty and lied about absolutely EVERYTHING and had hard time accepting that and were hoping that he would own up to it. But I can see how people became suspicious of Cats potentially involvement after hearing the conversation between Chandler and Cats mother and him saying that he won’t let anything happen to Cat. But I honestly believe that this whole family was duped by Chandler and was and probably still are having a hard time reconciling his murderous actions with the quiet, soft spoken and seemingly caring Chandler they knew and loved. But let’s be real, he’s not making these calls because he is worried about Cat or her family. He’s kissing ass so he has support while in prison because I doubt very much that his family will be depositing any money in his commissary.

Yes, Cress's absence in these jail calls is quite striking unless of course she was simply busy elsewhere. Dulce and Cat might have been in denial, but I have a feeling Cress had more of a clue since she wasn't quite so emotionally involved. Cat adored Chandler, Dulce adores her daughter but Cress was a least slightly distanced and possibly able to be more objective.

Cress is awesome. Her choice in partners is questionable. But no body is perfect.

Cress is the only normal one of the group. She seemed to see thru Chandlers nonsense and she seemed like the only adult in the group

Listen, if Cat and her mother knew about Chandler’s lies regarding his made up jobs, and his fictional college career during these conversations, then they had serious issues themselves. If nothing else, they should have been angry about all the constant lies. Perhaps they didn’t learn the extent of his fabrication until the trial.

He was seen walking out of the exact place by her mom and cress, the remains were identified fairly quickly and covered extensively on the news, and she volunteered the river screenshot of him because she saw the news about more remains. And that was only a week after it happened. They knew exactly what he did.

That's the thing. It's very easy for us to say how obvious it all is in retrospect with all the evidence and no personal connection but to everyone in his life at that moment, he's just a normal young man they all knew and liked. A young man with no history of violence or anger issues or ANYTHING he would be capable of such evil (the prosecution even state as much in the sentencing hearing). I'm not surprised that people who knew and cared for him would have confused and conflicted feelings.

I genuinely believe she had maybe even a FRACTION of guilt in this. I don't think she helped kill or anything. But I just find her story very odd. Idk why it wasn't mentioned in this video, I kept up with this case a bunch, I watched the entire trial, and have just known about this for quite some time. Cat lied on multiple occasions, especially in the interrogation, and even on the stand while testifying. The story goes, Chandler, and Cat were planning on moving, and the house they were looking at was an incredibly expensive house. One worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. Cat knew that Chandler was lying to his parents about his work, and knew he wasn't the person he claimed to be. She tried covering for him many times to keep the lie going. Now the weird part is, there are text messages of Cat and Chandler showing each other homes that they wanted to check out when they moved, every house that she sent him was a very very expensive house. So by her knowing he's truly a bum, how on earth would not only HE but her pay for it? She worked a normal retail job at the time, and I can assure you, nobody working a normal minimum wage wouldn't even be able to sniff living in a house that size, and get a loan to buy it. The only plausible way they both would have been able to afford it, was if they got a pretty large sum of money, and obviously we know how that went. She lied on the stand when asked if she knew about Chandler lying about his job status, and she said "no I did not" and then later admitted to knowing about it. One other thing she lied about during court, was that she had no clue of Chandler's injury, yet there's a snapchat video of them showering that was played in Court, and you can see her asking him about the injury in the shower, and even helping him move around. Idk, just a little fact/observation that I got from watching this trial. Yes she was very innocent, and had a very shy, awkward personality, but the average innocent person, isn't going to lie under oath, in a very prominent trial. What further makes me believe this, is the fact that she continues to talk to Chandler, even while he's prison...

When she was talking about it I thought it was going to be some horrific thing where he went into the pool naked or he was staring at Cress or something just extreme and it was so minor, yes uncomfortable for them but all in all just something small. But then to listen to her during these calls is nuts. I get absolutely get denial but still, so emotional over the pool and just “I love you and we’ll be okay and when you get out” ect. A prime example on the stages of grief. Clearly they were in denial at the time of this call but at the trial they had reached acceptance (imo anyway)

I lost both grandparents (who basically raised me) my father, my mother and my younger brother. All the same day. I was 18 at the time. We were coming home after a camping trip over a long weekend. I was about 10 mins behind them driving my car. A truck driver veered onto the wrong side. All dead. There was a huge traffic jam. When I got closer I saw my dads car or half of it first. I pulled over and saw everything! I’m 45 now and have my own kids. These last 2-3 years it’s all catching up with me. It’s so bad some days if I didn’t have my children I’d end it all. Everything I do in life now is for my kids future. ❤

I doubt the police told them exactly what was found. Cress testified that she was kept from areas of her property for months. Finally in October she was able to clean the shed and at that time she found the rifle Chandler used to murder his parents. At that time she contacted police about the rifle. Obviously LE kept info from them as is normal before a trial begins.

Because this channel has already shown the interrogation video of Chandler, where he was arrested, and he was interrogated the same time they were questioning Cat and getting info, she realized at the end of the first questioning and the second (which was 10 days later) that he actually did this. So by saying that she is worried about Cat, etc… and Chandler saying she will be fine, is showing that she had no involvement. You can tell at the end of the calls, Cat is pulling back but trying to not make him aware of it.

They didn't have access to evidence and may not have even known at this time exactly WHAT was found in their yard. What she knew at this time is not the same as what she knew when testifying. They had the privilege to see all the information present because they went into a deep dive into a case that already happened, watching several hours of videos. They somehow came away from that with the idea that Cat and her mother should have known better, even though they didn't even know a fraction of what the case presented to them. You also have some people in the comment section talking about "they should look into Cat and her Mother as well" like they didn't already lol. They pinged Cat's phone, she fully cooperated. Text messages, snapchat location cell phone service information, and pictures taken prove that there was an extended time where Chandler was alone and was being dodgy.

Sadly, those interviews werent included. i wish they were!

Hi i understand the note telling him how to behave in an interview is over parenting but what is the significance with the plastic boxes do you think?

The note on how to act in an interview was from Chandler's mom reminding him of the positive attributes to share and what to say on a job interview. I don't think that note had anything to do with the trial other than to show how much his mom was invested in his future. I can see how you may have thought it was Chandler writing the note to prepare for a police interview, but it's signed by his mom at the bottom of the note and he had it in his nightstand drawer.

Speaking of his brother, there was one point in the jailhouse calls that his brother came up in conversation, I believe it was when talking about Kat going over to rescue some "special" items of Chandlers. They both sort of shut down the conversation, I think by saying something like "your brother is in charge of that" or your brother wouldn't let me get it. It was obvious Chandler is terribly jealous of his brother and the life his brother is building with his future wife. I think Chandler couldn't live up to his brother's successes. I'm wondering if Jealousy was a huge part of these murders. Doesn't the Bible say something about it being a sin to be so envious or jealous?

Older brother really does have all of the things Chandler wanted for himself - a degree, a fiancee, a well-paying job, and a new house. Now, that's because Mitchell WORKED for them, of course, but to someone lazy like Chandler, who seems to have convinced himself he's entitled to just automatically receive all of those things, it must have been intolerable to watch his brother reach each goal ahead of him. An example from JULY 16,2021 ,channel 27 WKOW news released a timeline on “What we know to date”. For July 8: *In the background, the police investigation took a turn when "mutilated and dismembered" human remains were found on the property of Chandler's girlfriend's family in Cottage Grove.* Even if Cat and her mom weren’t looking at the news, Cat’s lawyer would have been following it . Their family , friends and co-workers would have known. Cat was placed on administrative leave from the specialty pharmacy. She obviously went back since she’s referencing it in her calls with Chandler . There had to be some interest in the story by her co-workers.

because this is all planned and they need someone for him to chat with and Cat didn't wanna do it. the police are there with them during most of these calls.

Real love is unconditional, despite being a psychopath, spoiled, having no balls and remarkably stupid. I feel sorry for you that you obviously don’t know that kind of love. Not judging or saying to make you feel bad, but surely you have someone in life that you couldnt cast aside so easily if they did something horrible. Honestly it’s harder to deal with a terrible situation when you can’t cast the person who did it aside. Chandler is a piece of shit that deserves every horrible thing coming to him in prison. Those calls are the difference between him not committing suicide and living longer in misery for what he’s done. They should tape pictures of his parents to cell walls and force him to look at them all day everyday.

Civilians can’t directly call inmates. Inmates call collect or call using prepaid phone cards. It’s like a one-way pay phone in jail or prison.

At the time they did not know the evidence and believed his lies as they and everyone who knew Chandler had done for Years. It's not that everyone around Chandler was an idiot or an accomplice...Chandler was a very good LIAR and if you watched the entire trial it is evident that everyone believed all of lies about his work, school, job offers, abilities ects. No one really knew the real Chandler.

Back in 1983, Diane Downs shot her three children (one died one was paralyzed and the other had a stroke and I believe had some permanent health issues resulting from that stroke) but Diane said she didn't shoot the children. She said that she was driving on a secluded road and a "bushy haired stranger" flagged her down and when she stopped, he shot her children. Whenever I hear of someone who says he or she didn't commit the crime, but they are really vague on just who actually did it, I always say it must have been a bushy haired stranger. I feel terrible for Cat and Dulce. They are victims of Chandler as well . They spent 2 years welcoming him into their family. I feel as though Dulce understood that he was never getting out of prison…but she knew that Cat had to go through the process of letting go of Chandler and everything that she thought Chandler was. Imagine what Bart was going through after finally realizing all the lies that Chandler had been telling him….Cat needed to come to terms with reality at her own pace….Dulce was trying to support her daughter especially since Cat was the only one talking to Chandler!

@@joycemarie9702100% thank you for this… I know the majority who’s heard of this case. Mainly people with common sense, understand Chandler is the only one to blame. The evidence clearly shows that. But when you go as far down the rabbit hole as I have. There’s a lot of overzealous internet detectives blaming Cat and her mother. With little to no evidence. Saying alot of ugly things about them with no compassion to what they went through and how they’re very much victims too. Some of it comes from baseless claims like “Shes so dumb, she should’ve known about the torso!” And “She brought him ice to cover it up!” Some of it comes from people who are just trying to find things that are not there. And some of it comes from a place of misogyny. It’s nice to see some people who still have compassion for these women. When they just been through hell. I just hope they’re not dealing with any of these crazies in person, and are able to move on with their lives.
