One of the best fragrances ever. True to the 90s, however, always up-to-date and magnificent. I used it in the 90s as a signature fragrance and it stayed in my rotation forever. There is a great emotional side, great connections and memories associated with this perfume. A masterpiece.
I was always an Egoiste man in the 90s and I remember asking my sister to bring me a bottle back from duty free when she went on her holiday. She brought home Egoiste Platinum by mistake. I was really pissed off at the time but it was a blessing in disguise and I wouldnt be without them both in my collection 👍🏼

I wore it exclusively as a Signature Scent when it first launched in 1993. The OG Egoiste, is a cult classic! Very unique, beautiful scent. I’ll have to revisit them both 🌟
I have come to the conclusion that Chanel Egoiste Platinum has some chemical that gives certain type of people this "mood boost" you speak of. I am extremely thankful that I am one of those people. I have smelled probably a thousand different colgnes/perfumes for men and this is the only one so far that gives me this "I can take on the world" attitude. For this it will always be my signature scent. I have actually started to sell off my collection because I found myself wearing other scents because I thought "I should" because I had so many, but now I just want to wear my favorites like Chanel Platinum.
Absolutely agree! I tried the current version recently and I love it. I'm 36 so probably starting to be in the right demographic :) I wanted to buy it but I waited because I know someone wants to gift me this at some point. And it's probably better if I finish some of my fragrances before I get a new one anyway ;) Thanks for the very nice review!
My favourite fragrance of all time. Described perfectly by yourself 😎. I get a similar “cooling” vibe from another favourite fragrance of mine (which is not only underrated, but also misunderstood): Polo Blue - the original. The cucumber - melon combo in that is divine in my view and has a similar green and sparkling vibe to Platinum Egoiste.
My signature fragrance, the first one that I bougth with my own money in 1994, along Egoiste the only two fragrances that have never left my collection, I like the current formula but I have to say that I although I have a bottle and wear it I do not enjoy it in the same level I did previous ones, specially the fist one, I still have some mililiters of a 2003 bottle and almost a full bottle of the previous formula from 2012 and a 2019 bottle, I also have some clones that I wear mostly at home, lots of good moments wearing this one and I have to say even today women love this stuff young and older... thanks for this review, cheers from Mexico.
As always Chris that was a great review! Platinum Egoiste is truly a fantastic scent so crisp in the morning and longevity is pretty good. I think if I’m not mistaken that for Platinum Jacques Polge worked with Francois Demachy. Platinum also reminds me of another classic CK Eternity for some reason. All the best from Belgrade!
I think it was inspired by Eternity which came out in 1990 if I'm not mistaken. They have a lot of similarities although PE is higher quality and it definitely has it's own unique profile!
