Captain Jim Bergmans chinese sidecar rig. This is an opposed twin of approx 32hp.......with a 4 speed gearbox/ including reverse. Shaft drive......can haul 3 people and 200Kg very slowly. Great fun to drive around aircraft hangars.
Now we got traveled the most fun, pleasantful and amusant 3000 mile ever done in our Harleys & Indians! Next summertime we'll do all Noerthern Italy in three wheels (backroads, of course!).
@robinphillips Robin the bike belongs to a pilot friend, I don't know how much they are in China, he paid $4,500 for his over here in the USA............most likely cheaper in China..... LL
It's not the same. The new one uses a CFMoto parallel twin engine with chain drive to the rear wheel. No reverse gear and no option to drive the sidecar wheel like the real military bike's had. The new one has the name but everything is different. The CFMoto engine is made in Taiwan so the quality is a lot better than stuff made in mainland China. So far no import into the USA or dealer network. There are bike's using the same engine that meet EPA and DOT regulations so import is not due to government regulations. I think it just no one is interested in setting up and importing them due the cost involved in that.
Nope, fella! 22 peaceful chinese working horses. There's an OHV model (also beautiful vintage-shape rig) with those useful 32 ones... (Incidentally, I've just yesterday bought one of these beauties here).
