How to change rear wheel bearings on 07 Can Am Renegade 800 without removing your trailing arms. Will work all G1's but I not sure on G2's. Try at your own risk. You will need access to a metal shop and a lathe or you can buy one I believe from CATVOS but dont quote me on that. Hope this helps.

Thanks for posting !!! Being a machinist myself , when installing the new wheel bearings you. should only be pushing on the outer part of the bearing. If you push on the inner race it potentially damages the balls and cage drastically shorting the life of the bearing .

Wade Doll VERY VERY TRUE! I just bought a set of ''race savers" for pushing in bushings and bearings. Very good point you make however in my case these bearings wont make it a year no matter what. Im super hard on equipment and this bike never see a dry trail unless were trail cruzing to the next mud holes, but yes i should have mentioned that the correct way is to buy the kit. At this time I didnt own one but its a MUST HAVE

Nick Stockert when I do a bearing replace I have a large socket 1-3/4" that fits the outside perfectly and on the front of the bearings are totally shot and I can't use that size I use a 1-1/2" socket that works very well also. But you can also just use the old outer race to bump the new bearings back in.

Great video Nick, very helpful. I changed a rear wheel bearing on my Renegade last night and the video made it very easy to do. The only thing that I did differently was loosen the rear diff so as to make it easier to remove the axle without damaging the seal. I don't do a lot of wrenching but it only took me about 3 hours to do.

Thanks guys for the compliments, however I seen this idea on a forum another guy came up with the original idea. he machined all the pieces out and i just made it a little easier for everyone to get the material instead of machining every piece but thanks again guys!

Nick, im from brazil, and i have an outlander 400 4x4 automatic 2005, when i was going to remove my rear axl, i need to remove the trailing arm, and it was stuck, when you take the first bolt of it and you remove one piece that fits there, this first part isn't going out.. i'm trying to remove it and this idea of you made me figure an way out of it.. thanks!!

To fit axels like this there is a chance to damage the seals, pretty scary! Good video, nostalgia about my past Renegade 800 2007.

you shouldnt be pushing on the inner race when installing a new bearing. Its not so bad with these bearings since they a are designed to handle a high axial load but still. Otherwise good job.

you have to remove the shocks from the trailing arms. then have the quad lifted high enough to pull the trailing arms down far enough to remove them. the angle is steep but will come out without removing the diff bolts

Dude, you should use the old bearing to push the new one in.

White lithium grease will make it go in a lot easier. Use it on bearings for semis and trailers all the time. Lifesaver.

btw take the torsion bar out first. then you have independent trailing arms (suspension)..and i would leave the torsionbar out as it's a lot smoother in the woods without it.

This is some great ideas about making a puller like that Wish I had something kinda like that for pulling one out But I was wondering if you have or anyone has changed the trailing arm bushing

Question... How did you get the axle out or the arm without removing the rear diff? I tried everything i could think of but nothing would work. Thanks in advance.

For me personally the reason I have to replace so many is my riding style and conditions. Alot has to do with the oversized tires and just the shit I put mine through. The BEST thing to do is buy OEM bearings and not allballs or knockoffs and thats about it to be honest. Otherwise there not much else. If you find out something different let me know

You're using force on the inside of the bearing ...not a good idea . Hope it worked for ya.

don't be seating bearings using the inner race people. you will destroy the bearings 👌
