If we get the right curve on the ball it will be a lot easier to change the path of the club. This isthe easy road to achieving a draw.
Let me help you get an effortless golfswing with speed and accuracy. I call it the circle of speed. A good release will help you to a better impact and longer drives and irons without slice and hook. How to swing a golf club need to be adjusted to your skill level and experience.
Long and straight is the goal for everyone but it takes time. Try to focus on one thing not everything when you practise. Impact, face control and swingpath will always be the most important part to drill. We focus too much on rotation but no good golf shot will be executed just by rotating.
I’m naturally right handed but all my tips works for both left handed and right handed golfers.
We also need to understand that many myths in golf are misleading. Everything that you find on the internet isn’t true. Ben Hogan, Sam Snead are two of legends that are often misunderstood.
We shall not keep our head still, only start with the hips, look only at the ball or keep the left or right arm straight.
If you use callaway, ping, titleist or taylor made clubs doesn’t matter you can learn to hit good golf shots. Your loft or your shaft on the club will not change but you can always get better.
Find what inspires you. Golf basics are the same for everyone. The pga tour, longdrivers or other good golfers can all help you find better golf shots. Watch what they do instead of listed to what they say. Listen mostly to your body and figure out what you need to do to produce the same results as the pros on TV. Be careful when you watch a golf swing in slow motion. The result isn't always what the golfer is trying to do. Feel and real are seldom the same.
Mike Malaska, Mike Austin, Mike Dunaway, Pete Cowen and Steve Pratt are some of my favorite golf instructors online. Find the tips that make your golf better. Decide what you want to hit. I teach a draw but many like a fade and nobody likes a hook or slice.
Your hips or your lag is not the key to golf. Your hands will decide the shot and you can do like Tiger Woods and trust your hands. Teach your hands to hit different shots. Hit big hooks and slices to understand what happens. Only straight is not gonna teach you anything.
Bryson Dechambeu and Kyle Birkshire can inspire you to hit it longer. Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson can give you inspiration and motivation to test new things and new golf shots. Linn Grant, Viktor Hovland and Ludvig Aberg can show you the future of golf.
The Masters, Players Championship, The Players, The Open and US Open can make you love golf even more. See the best in the world solve all the problems we all need to master any golf course. Golf is a craft and you need fantasy, feel and skills to master it.

Hey Marcus. You’re a warrior doing your thing whilst snowing. When I exaggerate the swing path, my shots are low, right and weak. I cannot get the ball to turn over back to the left? Work on the release?? Cheers!!

Thanks Greg. 🙏 And yes I think you need more release and more extension/scoop of the lead wrist to get more hight on the ball flight. Have you watched this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hXpX-yPJJOU.htmlsi=VWsot1eMzn2FvSWQ

Snow in October and before the leaves completely change isn't great to see, nor is the end of another golfing season. Back to all the exercising we should have been doing all along--I guess. ;>) Marcus, your teaching and philosophy has made this a great year--I don't think I'm alone in that. More "old dogs" learning from you is a wonderful thing--and we don't even have to be in Sweden. Happy, as always, that you do these in two languages and for lefties and righties, too. Cheers!

Thanks Ken. I start my preparation for 2024 in a week and just keep going. My biggest motivation is the chance I have to help golfers through RU-vid. I'm so grateful for that opportunity. Let's get better together. 💪

Marcus, I cannot thank you enough for your video presentations! I have watched as many as I can, some 4 or 5 times! You are a breath of fresh air to golf instruction ! I have dedicated the rest of my playing years to your approach! Your heartfelt instruction has given me drives over 250 yard carries , effortlessly, and I am a proud student at 71 years of age!! I am aweing my golf partners with yardages I haven't seen for years in my lifetime. Thank you for your heartfelt lessons. 😊 Bill. Milton, Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦

Marcus you driving instruction has saved my golfing life!! Thanks a million. A wide take away, a full swing and early release then hitting up through the ball and it's flying 270-300 yards. Not bad for a 72 year old. Thanks again.

Thanks Marcus. This is exactly what Mike Malaska and Paddy Harrington suggest as well--learn to hit hooks and slices (Paddy calls them cut shots) on purpose, pick whichever one you like (or need for the particular shot/lie), then change your aim slightly to take into account your ball flight. Your explanation of why this order works mentally helped it click for me.

Appreciate your braving the snow for us. Sad day too here in NE Ohio. Range across the street from work is closing tomorrow. I've been killing myself to try to get rid of my push with the driver. Can't seem to keep my left arm from taking over. It's a dead straight push. I know I just need to release earlier, but stupid brain won't let me. I'll get it eventually 🫣🤣

Thanks for the tip. After a few weeks of practice, I find I rarely have a big slice anymore. It is more like a misdirected straight hit. And when I hook the ball, it is either because old instincts take over, or I'm not trusting that the draw will bring it back to target, and I don't swing out enough. My distances are the same or longer but with half the effort. So far, The biggest mental shift has been loosening the wrists and just letting the arms and body do their thing.

Hi Marcus. Have been wondering for a while if you've thought about doing a video on this controversial thing called "tipping the shaft". Some say tip down and back away from the target and some the opposite. Curious if this is something you have an opinion on and if you do something like this either intentionally or not. Either/neither way makes any sense to me. You've got a knack for explaining things. Just a crazy thought. Thanks! 🙂
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad 9 месяцев назад
The only "tipping" I know about is when you cut the tip of the shaft 1/2" or more to make the club stiffer at the end closest to the head. Is that what you mean?
@normguggenbiller7791
@normguggenbiller7791 9 месяцев назад
Shoot! I meant to say "shallowing the shaft". Has never made any sense to me. Always assumed I was missing something but have been thinking it might have something to do with how you start down from the top of the backswing to then swing up.@@GolfwithMarcusEdblad

Hi Marcus Perfect lesson. Let me ask a question. I have stiff shaft forged clubs. I noticed if I open my club face on the high wedges to 7 and close the club face on 6 to 1 I hit it with result nice fade and draws off center 5- 10 yards. Is this ok manipulation of the club face?
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad 9 месяцев назад
Only you can decide if the result is okey. I don't think you need to do fade with some clubs and draw with others. I like to know what happens to the ball and that's why I want a draw all the time. As long as you control what happens and it works, I'm happy.

Marcus Im working on this but struggle with swing path and face at address. Swing from the inside should the club face be square to path or more open. Thank for the tips
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad 9 месяцев назад
I think that the face is best slightly open at. adress but that is not what makes a good golf shot. We need to focus a lot more on how we hit it instead of thinking that our set up is the most important, it isn't. I think this video can help: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wGkBfEuqgLo.htmlsi=88hN8wOo1Gh9E_8a

Hi Marcus. This is not perhaps the topic. Mike Austin talked about a karate chop from the top,backwards. You talk a lot of a push forward with the rear arm. Do you just push fwd or do you start backwards and then push forward? Thanks Ulf
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad 9 месяцев назад
Hi Ulf. To make the complete circle of the swing we need to start in/backwards and down from the top. If I want to swing from the inside this is necessary. 👍
