Jimmy Carlson That was very impressive. I think the reaction just comes from a wanting for more unqiue cards since the 3rd copy wasnt played. But the menace ability would have been pretty lacking for the mana cost.

Yeah it really came together well in the end i think - very synergistic deck. But i still think you can get Fully Grown very late and easily.

It's real bad game design to make something so powerful in limited, that even when you draft a super medium deck around it, it can still easily crush opponents.

That deck is not busted, it's medium at best, and opening Vivan was the biggest factor to it not just being straight up bad. But all his opponents were playing badly and had even worse decks. LSV durdles for 5 turns in all 4 games and all 4 opponents managed to apply literally no pressure, it's like beating up grade schoolers. Even then, he would have lost more of those games with his "broken" obosh if not for Vivan The funniest example was game 4. Consider that over the course of 12 turns LSV just played one really good A+ card that he was lucky enough to open (Vivian), and a bunch of D tier draft chaff that resembles the deck your 8 year old cousin drafted in his first time at the LGS. Is it any wonder he lost even facing 0 pressure?

yeah thats exactly what I thought as well. Also this whole video was weird, as he didn't play all the matches right? It looked like a bo1 draft and in those you usually play until you have 3 losses. So 3 wins one "loss" (which was an early concede due to vivian dying) and hes out? Really weird to me

Honestly reading card spoilers is not how you learn them its just playing a bunch of drafts. Also he's doing a player draft so he has a timer and can't spend 5 minutes thinking through each pick like you could with the bots

A guaranteed extra card EVERY SINGLE GAME is the key here. You can have a great deck with say even 3 bombs, but a decent amount of time, they will be in the bottom half of your deck. It's the ALWAYS going to see it that makes it busted and worth going for. Also, a lot of limited games can be won by just curving out over turns 2-5 and having a spot on your curve filled every game means you'll have more games where you just run over your opponent. You have a point that you are giving up something, but the upsides are so high and fairly consistent.

Having a sick bomb you can play every game is easily worth playing a suboptimal deck. It is just not 1 card extra, it is mostly a game winning bomb card extra every single game. You should not pick anything p1p1 over the good companions, it is that simple.

@@taylorschmidt1503 I know but when you give yourself a suboptimal deck to do it then its not as amazing. for LSV here it was fine he only passed like 2 good cards for it but most of the time its not worth it unless you realize get lucky or its gyruda or the green blue one.

@@WoRMaSTeR64 one good card does not make a good deck, having one card you can play every game also does not make a good deck.

look everyone please this I am not saying its bad I am simply saying for a fair amount of the time it will be a trap you fall into and suffer for it.
