It's a huge relief that you've made a point out of not conflating your theory/analysis with homestuck as an interpretive story (as nebulous as the canon that has become). I don't think I'd have much interest for dabbling in it myself if my views absolutely had to align or construct on your own without being immediately hand waved because they aren't. Er, not to say they totally aren't since I've been following you for a couple years now. Just an irrational fear of mine I guess. One that you've soundly put to bed!

Firstly, congrats on working on Homestuck ^2. Secondly, I love your content, regardless of whether it's Homestuck or not. I enjoyed your analysis videos on Steven Universe and RGU. I'm really tempted to go watch RGU now. Your content is wonderful and I'm glad you seem to enjoy doing this as well. Thank you.

OD, you are both absolutely right and absolutely wrong about theories. Because there are two kinds of theories. Let’s call them “Hope theories” and “Rage theories”, or maybe even “questions”. Hope questions are questions about meaning, about what a thing can be, and are open to interpretation. Rage questions are questions about an objective thing, about a fact. Even if don’t know the answer, or won't we know or not, there is still an answer, and it is still a fact. For example, “what is the aspect of Rage and what it means” is a Hope question, the answer is evolving, and I am part of the conversation*. But “what Hussie intended Rage to be while writing Homestuck” is a Rage question. There is an objective answer, ans some answers are wrong. It is not the same as what Rage means. I think I understand Rage in a completely different way than Hussie, and I will continue to do so even if Hussie will explicitly say this…but this question is still very important. Just as the question “is the Page class active or passive?” (or, at least, “did Hussie intended Page to be active or passive while writing Homestuck”). It is a really important question, Hussie knows the answer (maybe Hussie didn’t think about it at all…but the chance is less than 1%), and if he would allow you, OD, to write the Homestuck^2 plot based on the idea that Pages are active, while he wrote Homestuck with being passive (or the opposite situation, allowing writing them as passive while he wrote them being active) without explicitly saying “this is a retcon, it was like this but changed” would be a crime against the logical puzzle that is the Homestuck lore. As would be any other similar change to the implicit behind-the-scenes assumptions about the lore. I Hope that you, as a person than values the logical puzzle that is the Homestuck lore, would understand how important this distinctions is, and how important is to not limit Hope questions (by seeing some answers as wrong), while giving the Rage questions the right answers, because there ARE wrong ways to understand Homestuck. * And affect it right now, by using the term “Rage theories”, and writing essays about Rage that I will post...some day.

Does this mean you could add some Revscarecrow Easter egg's to Homestuck^2? His lets read of Homestuck and Lets play of Hiveswap which I also played myself, have been good to bridge the gap between updates for Pesterquest and Homestuck^2 and id love to see him get recognition from the creators themselves as well as the fans. Heck having an update shown exclusively through Revscarecrow doing a youtube lets read of it while confused as hell would be hilarious to me.
