A big fan theory that floats around the DBZ fandom is that Bulma lied about Yamcha cheating on her so she'd be seen in a better light, since it's more likely that Bulma would've been the one to cheat on Yamcha. It's not cannon of course, but given Bulma's personality and the ways she acts, it makes WAAAAAYYYYY more sense than Yamcha cheating.

Yamcha needs his own side story, like a slice of life in the Dragon Ball universe where he's just trying to live a good life

A lot of people forget that the reason Yamcha even fought the Saibaman in the first place was in order to protect Krillin. Since had Krillin died they wouldn't have been able to wish him back at that point.

In the original Dragonball, Bulma broke up with him just because she caught him TALKING to a girl. So the same kind of thing must have happened here. I also think Bulma is kind of cold in her own way. Yamcha's the kind of guy who likes being around the people he cares about, but that would get in the way of Bulma's work, so she dumped him on some BS and got with Vegeta, since he'll usually leave her alone but also hit it when she wants, so it's win-win. Then she told Trunks that Yamcha cheated so she didn't have to tell the truth about what actually happened.

The way I see it, Yamcha's got the best life of the Z fighters. He's not the strongest, but he's got a successful career, a shape shifting cat for a best friend and tons of fans. Dude's probably a millionaire at this point.

Yamcha has got to be the most depressing character I've ever seen. He's been lied about and spat upon for no good reason other than "He cheated on Bulma". First off, he never would've cheated on his original interpretation. That was, by Akira's own admission, a character assassination effort to push Bulma and Vegeta getting together. And honestly even if he did cheat I still wouldn't blame him. From what we've seen of Bulma during her big debut she: 1. Tried to kill a toddler by shooting at him. 2. Tried to get the same toddler she shot at to touch her panties in order to get his Dragon Ball 3. Gets angry and impulsive over the smallest things 4. Literally hooked up with the guy that murdered the friends she made in OG DB 5. Has used her body to try and get herself out of issues (having done so with General Blue whom was about to kill 2 kids in a cave, with Zarbon in an attempt to just fuck him, and Zamasu despite being married at the time) As far as I'm concerned Yamcha dodged a bullet. Funny enough in Heroes he's winning with having gotten an alien babe to want to marry him. Sadly the legal system on her planet has to force people to wait 1000 years before a marriage proposal can get passed through paper work. But in Heroes he's with Chronoa. A god that can control time. So Yamcha will be fine.

Note that Bulma broke up with Yamcha in the anime because of the amount of fangirls he has meaning that Bulma was JEALOUS and decided to be a bitch

Regardless of fan bullying DC has given him his dues, the same cannot be said for Yamcha. Toriyama fucked him over at every turn, it was complete character assassination no doubt.
