Using my Wallbox Pulsar Plus - I will cover the installation process and expense in another video - charging my car at home is amazingly easy. Wallbox's App even allows you to set the price you are paying for electricity, so you can track your charging expenses by the month.

Do you have to get the home wall charger with the purchase of the car or is there an extra charger? Is there a home fast charge version?

The car does not come with a charger at all. Mercedes has a program where they will connect you to a company that then connects you to a contractor to install a Level 2 (9.6 kW) charger. As my nearest Level 3 charger is 40 miles away, the home charger is my local option. I pay 10-cents per kWh, so I am spending $10-$20 per month to use my car locally. If you are going to get a $50,000+ EV, it makes sense to get the charger and charge at home.

Hi!!! We are trying to find out how to set up charging so we put the charger on the car before going to bed, but it doesn’t start charging until 12 AM to 3 AM during the low cost hours for power. Is that something you have to set up on the Mercedes me app? Is there a way to immediately charge once we put the charger?

If neither your car nor your in-home charger have a charging time set up, it should sync immediately and start charging in about a minute. The app allows for pauses in charging, so check to make sure that is not enabled. Also, your charger may also have a time established to charge, so check that app out as well. I am confident it is one of those two things. Otherwise, I see no reason for the delay. Turn off your pre-entry departure time as well - that has paused charging for me.

Mercedes will be mailing me level 2 charger but it will take weeks to get delivered. Which level 1 charger do you recommend that I can buy on the fly?

I've never used one, all I can recommend is searching RU-vid for Level 1 reviews - that's how I confirmed the choice of my level 2 charger

How fast does it charge? What amps do you have your charger set at?

I am using a 48 amp Wallbox charger. It gives me a 9.6 kW charge. It would take 11 hours to go from 0-100%. I have a 360 mile drive tomorrow, so I'll be charging to 100%, which should take just over 6 hours to get there (from the 30% I started with tonight).

@@EQS-Owner I's a shit car and shit concept, you are very limited with an EV. Can't go where you want because you have plan and take routes which passes charghing spots. And plus electricity is even more expensiva than petrol or diesel. So it's more inefficient with an EV and more expensive to drive, this EV bullshit will be a failed project mark my words. You're just test rabbit that fell for it

Tesla wall charger takes about 4-5 hours full charge. Tesla supercharger about 30-40mins lol Don’t even think about getting anything other than a Tesla, not worth it i know from experience.
