I disagree. I am Gen X and I blame David Stern who made the league about "superstars", changing the rules to eliminate defense to "make the game more free flowing" and "watchable", certain markets and "growing the game". He seen how popular the league was globally after the 92 Dreamteam. Also the man said and I quote "if I had it my way thr Finals would be Lakers vs Lakers". Also the NBA signing the "contract of death" with ESPN who turned the NBA and sports in general to a reality show/soap opera. I blame all of that.

It’s not millennials it’s stats nerds. All these analytics nerds are ruining sports, they want to take the human element out of it, and just find the most efficient way to do it. Baseball just change the rules because the analytics had literally destroyed the sport. The NBA has the problem on the one hand of LeBron, turning it into WWE with Klutch and his super entitlement narcissism train, We are the entire league is operating to get him titles. The other problem is analytics where lazy general managers have decided that three-pointers and dunks and layups are all that anyone should do and the mid range game and team ball and passing are totally overrated. So now you just have a three-point shooting contest. They don’t actually shoot better either Steph Curry shoots better, but the percentage is almost identical to what it was in the 80s and 90s, they just take more bad shots.

With all due respect Chuck... Millennials don't run the NBA, Gen-X does. Millennials aren't in the position to do anything in the NBA right now other than play unless they're LeBron James. The younger Coaches are Gen X, lots of Boomers are still coaches, and most of the NBA Front office are all Boomers. Millennials didn't ruin the game, they're playing the game that Boomers and Gen X MADE for them.

AAU programs and coaches ruined American basketball culture. Many AAU teams don't practice, you cannot learn fundamentals playing 3 games a day. Highlight videos have created an environment of making "great" plays rather than the right plays. Everyone thinks they can be Stephen Curry, and they aren't Stephen Curry.

Steph didn’t change the game, it was him and Klay. Without Klay there was no Curry because Klay was also shooting 40%+ from and how do you stop that. Facts ! I use to love the Oakland Athletics. Billy Beane philosophy worked initially. However Beane blew it when he shipped Cuban power hitter Yoenis Céspedes. Céspedes had a 250 batting average. Beane traded him for all star pitcher John Lester. Beane gambled and figured Lester would get the Athletics over the hump in the playoffs and that other players could compensate céspedes numbers. The gamble failed but if you went by stats and numbers. It seemed like a good move

The game is ruined because people forsake the love and the fundamentals of the game for a bag (money), likes, and followers on Social Media. Same for all arts, entertainment and sports. All of them are in a major decline in regards to talent, skill level When money is the number 1 motivating force in anything, the integrity of that things goes out the window. The end goal for most of these pro athletes is to just make the league and sign a big contract. They can care less about winning, losing, competing, being the best as long as they got their 8-9 figure deal

LeBron is 10-11 in one possession games in the finals if he was more clutch he would have more chips -2 bronze international medals -only 19 game winning shots in 20 years full of travels, carries, and superteams giving him more space in those situations -getting outperformed in the clutch by kyrie in his most clutch year: 2016 (kyrie scored more points in clutch time and hit the game winning shot) -most finals and playoff losses -6 finals losses with superteams while going through an easier conference -under 40% shooting in the clutch in the postseason LeBron James Has Only Made 19 Of 107 Shots In Clutch Situation During His Career: 17.8% FG, 12.5% From 3-Pointers He sucks. I think Charles just misspoke he's not the smartest brother and he's in his 60s, so there's probably recency bias because he's only familiar with millennials. He most likely meant to say gen Z because those are the ones completely content with this new era of cottonelle style play and the complete lack of competition. Because these youngins want everything easier and don't want compete against things we've all had to in previous generations like the marketshare for starters.

Well, guys like Jordan ruined NBA basketball, it didn't look like it at the time because everyone enjoyed watching HIM play but basketball was NEVER about building your league around ONE guy and everyone else bowing talking about how great he is, praising the guy and loving to lose to him because it keeps the endorsements going and the money flows -- that's what the Jordan-Era was about from 1991-1993, 1995-1998...so that is what 'the business' is about, regardless of liking/hating or agreeing/disagreeing with someone, the money flows, the check clears and guys keep playing but it doesn't matter who wins because the check clears -- that's the NBA and has been since 1991, thanks to Jordan.... Guys like Barkley, Ewing, David Robinson, Malone, and all of the rest of those guys on that Dream Team and guys who could not win up until the Duncan-Era were in on that 100%. Duncan-Era: From 1997-98 on, that's when Duncan hit as a rookie improving the Spurs and won in 1998-99 during the strike season, sweeping Shaq/Kobe and beating a Ewing-less Knicks but he had to beat the Trailblazers in '99....Then Duncan won in 2003, 2005, 2007, and 2014...while having competitive teams in between and falling short of back-to-back titles either via the Lakers, Mavs, Thunder, Grizzlies, and/or Clippers. Kobe-Shaq Era: This was the Phil Jackson era more than the Kobe/Shaq era...I give Phil Jackson more credit for all of Kobe's titles and the titles Shaq won in Los Angeles than anything else because they had deeper teams prior to Phil and couldn't put anything together, showing you both Shaq and Kobe lacked leadership and were totally non-championship material when it came to leadership, they were just weapons who needed to be pointed in the right direction, much like Kevin Durant now. Kobe worked hard and Shaq went to Miami and Riley had to stack that team with Mourning to enable the Heat to win in 2006 and they were a one-hit wonder and Shaq fell-off due to weight issues and injuries. So from 1999-2000 to 2009-10 Phil Jackson won 5 titles in 7 tries, so that was his era not Shaq/Kobe...I mean think about a head coach controlling an NBA era? Nobody was going to say the Lakers won solely due to Riley or the 76ers due to Cunningham and/or the Pistons due to Daly and/or the Celtics to K.C. Jones or Bill Fitch...everyone then knew it was the players. You see Popovich not winning now, showing you it was Duncan winning making Popovich great and you saw how Kobe did nothing without Phil at a high level and fell off not even being able to make the post season without Jackson...so this era was a terrible era and LeBron became a rookie in 2003-04. LeBron Era: 2003-04 until now it's really not LeBron's era, it's his failure which stands out more than anything going 4-6 in the Finals, losing 60% of his NBA Finals' appearances while Steph Curry winds up 4-2 in the Finals losing due to a suspension via the league upon Green and blowing a 3-1 lead while Steph legit lost to Kawhi Leonard in 2019....So which is better? 4-6 or 4-2? I want the guy who is 4-2 at the highest level(s)....So this is the Steph Curry era where his actual skill-set and leadership allows his team to win, not politics, marketing, or swaying the rules in your favor....James is better at the point guard position than Curry but everything else like footwork, shooting, foul shooting, unselfishness, playing both ends, and being coachable is 100% better by Steph Curry...when he loses, he just takes the loss, when James loses, it's someone else's fault...so this is the time that's weak and you have a play-in tournament with an 9th and 10th seed being some type of achievement now that the 7-8th seeds go against the 9-10th seeds to see who will be in the playoffs. Change of Eras: CAN YOU IMAGINE BIRD, ISIAH, AND JORDAN BEING THE 8-10TH SEEDS LIKE NOW WITH DURANT, JAMES, AND STEPH?!!!??? Imagine if the NBA lowered those standards then in the 80's and late 80's into the 90's and Jordan, Isiah, and Bird in the solid ability of their careers were a 8-10th seed battling it out to make the playoffs in the East. THIS IS THE NBA NOW!
