Arthur Almeida I take it you never heard of the “Rasmus range\line” that Suhr we’re putting out some years back? They were amazing guitars for around £900. They stopped making them as they were too good for the price and becoming very popular and sales were taking a hit from their Suhr branded, high end models. Putting yourself out of business is never good. 😂

Joss is such a great guitarist. Highly underrated! He’s so god damn accurate! Can play very fast while picking EVERY note without any misses. Watched a vid of him shredding before, my god he’s a beast! Also; he’s playin the DK that I want. Either the white or the black one. Can’t decide...

I got the Orange one and stripped the alder body of its paint and grain filler, applied a walnut stain and sealer and it matches the roast maple neck color for color. Next I got some deep lustrous Brazilian rosewood pickup covers and knobs. All my friends asked me if it was a Govan signature model and how I afforded it lmao. It looks beautiful and the neck is absolutely perfect in feel and looks, so I knew I had to use this model for the base of my project.

I'd say they lost popularity with the advent of grunge in the early 90's, they never went away just they had a golden age in the 80's with EVH etc. And now it feels like everyone want's to make a Suhr style super strat

Ibanez AZ was an answer to the Guthrie Govan Charvel (and Suhr Modern, previously played by GG) and this is essentially a lower-price Guthrie. My $.02.

Change of plans. I"ll have one in the green me thinks. Charvel for me falls to hand like no other guitar. I have had one since I saw Jake E Lee way back in the day. Yeah you can shred for days on them but no law says you have too. They are very versatile Glad I saw this!

If I was able to meet any guitarist from RU-vid, i think it would be Pete. He is a great player and seems like just a great person to boot. If he ever does like Rob and Rabea did and visit some guitar centers in the states, If he came anywhere in tx, I would definately be there. That would be more than worth the drive. :)

SS frets and I wish it had the normal Strat style body instead of the slightly smaller Dinky, and maybe a couple more finish options. I'd buy one right now if it had those features.

Jesus Christ stainless steel frets it’s the most OVERRATED thing mentioned in comments these days. It is not a big deal whatsoever. Guitars have been made since the 50’s never having stainless frets. How many people you know are wearing out their frets? Unless they are professional or semi professional musician, playing onstage every night it rarely is happening. This whole craze started when the budget guitar companies started offering ss frets as if it’s a premium feature. Lol the tone with ss frets may be different however, but again not a deal breaker whatsoever.

This guitar is almost perfect! Don't like the middle pickup who gets in my picking area. And the colors... well.. this is personal.. 😜 Apart from that, everything is perfect. If they did it in H.H and in white or black, it would be an instant no brainer instant buy. Great playing, thanks for sharing!

tuning stability of trems? Why would Charvel keep the string trees vs staggered tuners?

The sharp angled string trees did cause tuning problems on mine so I started a thread on the Gear Page and a couple of guys said get your strings out from under the string trees and problem solved. Darned if they didn't end proving correct - no more tuning issues (wish the tuners were staggered but no problems so far)!

That two-point one is very similar to the new Ibanez AZs, which themselves are very similar to certain Suhr models. Interesting that recessed vintage style trems are getting popular again.

This guitar is amazing. I much prefer Gibson scale but I couldn't pass this one up. It just feels good - finish somehow repels that gross sweaty beer grime, you can feel the vibration in the neck (not always true with bolt on necks), caramelized neck both feels good and looks great. Love the glow in the dark fret markers. Frets are super smooth.

Old video but some can have issues on 2024 with their gotoh 510 2 points tremolo... You can resolve the problem by filing correctly the nut and by replacing your saddles with the wilkinson wls130 ones, you will not regret it and your instrument will be way more fun to play with!!🤘

I might order an Ibanez AZ242BC - DET but this really put me in thoughts... It is in the same price range, I like the roasting more on this neck than the AZ it also has graphite reinforcement rods, better location of the truss rod, nice, smart and comfy body carve and I like the matte army drab finnish almost as much as the natural wood finnish of the AZ (also Guthrie is my favourite guitarist and it would be very nice to have something similar to his model) BUT here are the basic FLAWS imo -Doesn't come with gigbag or case -Doesn't have STAINLESS STEEL frets The AZ has both Also I like more the (more) pickup options of the AZ than the DK24 HSH so I might stick with the Ibanez But this is a very very beautiful guitar!!! Thoughts?

Harris Papadakis these are enough cheaper than the AZ that you could buy a couple of hardcases and still come in under budget. I was really excited waiting for the official specs of the AZ to come out but when they were finally released I was really disappointed. These new charvels have exactly what I wish Ibanez had done. Better truss rod adjustment position, better pickups, better looking finishes (imo) and it comes in under a grand

No it costs 1360,50 $ and and in euros it's roughly 1163,50 euros (AZ - 1138-1185 euros from thomann) I have played the AZ that I want and it was very beautiful in terms of playability and sound Also what about the lack of the Stainless Steel frets? I believe this is a big miss

Can't go wrong with either as I see it. I agree they should at least throw in a gig bag but the most important detail is fret wear. If you take them to your tech every year and have other guitars then the Ibby sounds like a better fit for you. I am in the same predicament but I'm going for the charvel just cause I love that pink HSS

there is an HH version with this trem, and it also has the switch for splitting, but the colors are so ugly. Wish they had them in that primer gray or shell pink

The difference in the neck pickups is just the magnet. The Alnico Pro II has an alnico II magnet, and the Jazz has an alnico V one. I think they are identical in wind. I've noticed that in the Orange Charvel, the neck pickup has hex poles, instead of the usual fillister screws, and slug poles. I don't know why they've done this except maybe to give it a more uniform look, because of the hex poles in the Full Shred in the bridge. I've never seen a Duncan neck pickup of any kind with hex poles before (that I can remember!) Sound wise, using hex poles tends to tighten everything up, especially in the low end. Cool guitars, the only thing I don't particularly like is the placement of the jack socket, but I could live with it, due to that cool orange satin finish!!!

I love the guitar but can't do a dinky body. I've bought two in the past and returned or sold them both within a month. Great bodies for smaller guys but I'm 6' and 250lbs (1.83m and 113kg) so I look like I'm playing a mini guitar. I wish Charvel offered the 24-fret necks on the soloist body as well. :-(

Carvin copies Fender with a few small changes, Suhr copies Carvin with a few small changes, Ibanez copies Suhr with a few small changes, Charvel copies Ibanez with a few small changes. All we need Fender to release their line of exotic style super strats to complete the circle.
