It's been a long time since I made a food video. Sorry for the long wait, everyone! Have you had sushi in Japan? Have you experienced an automated conveyor belt delivery system like in this video? If you love sushi, let me know what your favorite kinds are in the comments below! I hope you enjoy watching this video and thanks for all the
We've already tried eating there at Hamazushi in Ibaraki, and the selection was good. Everything was automatic, fuss-free and the robot greeting you upfront tells you straight that yep, you're indeed in Japan lol...
Hi there. Good to see you're still with us. Well done. Being Sunday this is the day I try to catch up with your postings. We in the East of England, the first thing we noticed when lock down came was air was so clean because smelly factories were shut and and there's no aircraft in .the sky. Keep safe - Al
@@CoryMay81 : I was sitting in my garden and could hardly hear the traffic & there was a profound lack of vapour trails. On the cycling front I used to peddle in from Harrow, about 12-miles from my work place in London, but cheated because I could do most of he journey on the train. The pollution was appalling trundling down the Euston Road. This was back in 1979 when I was about about 28. I gave up cycling when I took an editing job at BBC Ealing Studios, closer to home.
Great video, Cory! That was a lot of food for the money and I like the idea of the food being made to order rather than just circling on the conveyor belt. I wish the chain would expand to the US!
Thanks Swansox!!! Yeah, a nice sized draft beer, a bowl of ramen, plus 6 pieces of delicious sushi for only 1,300 Yen. Can't beat that! Some of the conveyor belt places, where it just circles round and round, only load it up for the lunch crowd. Usually during off-peak times, they don't do that so they don't waste food, but you can just tell the sushi dudes what you want and they'll make it on the spot. My friend lives in Fort Worth and said that they have a sushi place just like this around there or in Dallas. Touch screen and the conveyor system delivers it right to you. I dunno what that place is called, though. Hope you're doing well, stay safe and see you laters!
Catching up on videos I've missed, I have to thank you again for taking us with you on these little trips. It means so much to me to be able see these slices of life in a country I love but can't afford to visit. THANK YOU! 🤗
Hi Cory! So happy you out about! Thank you for the video! You are looking healthy! Be safe and healthy! Sendings some love from California! 👍🏼💞🤗💕🎊💟😄💖😃💝🎉💜❤️💚💙🎉😄☺️🎈
Do I look healthy? hahaha I think I gained some weight, haven't shaved, and in desperate need of a hair cut. Thanks for watching and see you around! ^^
I've been in Okinawa for a couple months and I love Hamazushi. What will end up driving me wild eventually is thr constant repetitive sound effects. My sushi getting delivered or the song at Makeman. Idk how people can put up with it for years and years lol.
Thanks for the effort, Cory. I had conveyor belt sushi before but I haven't tried that glass shrimp. Looks so delish! NGL, I miss having udon in Japan. Please stay safe out there. Cheers!
Yeah, the glass shrimp was so good... it had a yuzu salt on it and it was lightly torched as well. Probably my favorite new thing to eat there. hehehe Glad you enjoyed the video, and you stay safe too! ^^
Cheap and good sushi is just for me i have tried expensive sushi and it ain't tasty at all lol , i love cold soba too haha ramen is my favourite as well as the soba haha .
Thanks for the video. It’s been such a long time since I watched your videos. The last time I did, you were in Korea. I’ll have to watch some more videos now.
CORRRRYYY!!! I don't know if this will make sense but watching your videos kind of relaxes me!!! It's just so wholesome!!! More powers to you and stay safe!!!
Great video ! Everything looked yummy ;-) The price is pretty good too . I had been under the impression that it was pricey to eat out in Japan , this changed my views. Thank you Cory for sharing the knowledge !
Yeah, Dom, there are cheap options for food out there, for sure. For example, many people are willing to spend $12+ on ramen at famous places, but you can get some decent bowls for only 500 ~ 700 Yen in smaller shops that aren't so famous. Still delicious and doesn't break the wallet. Thanks for watching!
hahaha Well, don't force yourself to eat something you don't like. But I do recommend trying new things at least once, just to say you've had it before. I hope you get the chance to try new sushi! Stay healthy and safe! Cheers!
That looks awesome Cory!! Man, do I miss Ramen places that are literally close by ones place. Of course here in Texas, everything is spread out away from each other. We have the Americanized sushi, ramen and other Asian food joints. Just before the lockdown, I had eaten at an Izakaya that opened up within walking distance of North Texas University. Always enjoy the videos on You Tube or Twitch. Hope you are doing well and work is going to start picking up for you! Take it easy! Your friendly google maps user!!
Yeah, my friend lives in Ft. Worth and she mentioned that there is a sushi place with a conveyor delivery system just like this... somewhere in the Ft. Worth / Dallas area. I visited her back in 2010... drove across the entire state. Everything was bigger, and more spread out, than other areas of the country I drove through (I drove from DC to LA taking all the southern states...) Thanks for watching and enjoying it! Cheers!
Thanks! Yeah, stay tuned for when I announce the next live stream. I'm currently out of data on my phone, but working to get a wifi sponsor in the very near future! Once I have that, I can do streaming more often. Stay safe and healthy!
Nope, as mentioned many times before, my apartment is pretty bare with no furniture or decorations. It would be a very boring video, so I'm waiting until it's a bit more furbished and what not. Sorry for the wait. Also sorry if you didn't hear about this. I get this question from people weekly.
Yessss that's another good way to do it! Some sushi places put the wasabi under the slice of seafood, but this place doesn't. I love wasabi so much! Thanks for watching, Jessica!
Hi Cory!!! Thanks for posting!!! Are all restaurants open for dine-in Japan? Were they ever closed? In the US, the dine-in was closed for 3 months. P.S. They should have had Korean as a language on that menu. Do u think they don't due to the discrimination against Koreans in Japan? It is subtle but very real in Japan.
It's OK, I didn't do any live stream last week or this week. I will announce the next stream in my RU-vid Community tab and on my social media (Twitter/Instagram @corymay81).
I'm sorry, I don't remember. I no longer have the track on my PC. I try to list any music I have in the description box, but I think this one I had deleted it on accident before uploading so I didn't know who it was.
Yeah, it was raw, but lightly torched. There's no official notice of when Tokyo will cease the State of Emergency, but many people predict it can be as early as tomorrow. We will see. Even if the SoE is lifted, I think we still need to be very cautious to avoid 2nd or 3rd waves of infections.
Yes, I do! Where did you get the natto from? I have some in my fridge right now. I don't eat it as often as I should. It's a great "superfood" that's really good for your health and balance of gut bacteria. I like natto on hot white rice, mixed with a raw egg, a dash of soy sauce, and a squirt of lemon juice. ^^
@@CoryMay81 I got it at my local Asian store called New Grand Market in the cold section near the rice cakes I think there called Ttoke. The natto comes in a three pack and under the cover is plastic wrap like and mine comes with soy sauce and mustard and you mix it up and it gets slimy/stringy threads you need to wrap around your chopsticks.
If a plate goes by, it's not mine. Only the plates I order come directly to me. This is a direct delivery system for what you order. It's not the circulating/revolving conveyor belt system.
I have no reason to take off my hat, sorry. lol I know that's a thing for some people, but many others, it isn't. I'm an American from Japan, and I have lived in Hawaii for 8 years before (Oahu and Big Island). Thanks for leaving a comment!
