Pabler Arav if you look at 1:30+ the soldier wearing the cap is seen close up. He is not firing fully automatic, he is pressing the trigger constantly in semi automatic mode.

Any video that’s dark like this and in Eastern Europe in general most of the time you can see incoming and outgoing. There’s one video of some DPR members in Ukraine coming under fire, you can see green tracers incoming and at one point you can see them actually impact and wound 2 men right in front of the camera guy. As soon as they were hit it seemed like the entire world opened up on them as they were crawling into a ditch for cover.

Chechen's are some of the fiercest fighters around, those fellas have always been labelled as rebels or paramilitary but they are actually able to back it up against true military opponents.
Yep, and now Ramzan Kakhydrov is leader of Chechnia, and a strong Rossiyanin. His Father Akmad saw that Foreign Wahabi were a danger for the Chechens, influencing the decision making. so he broke with them and went back to being Rossiyanin.
Actually no. The Chechens won the first Chechen war not because they were fierce but because Russian command at the time was incompetent. The moment the Russian army received competent leaders they mopped the floor with the Chechens. Another example debunking that rumour is the war in Ukraine. Many Chechens went to fight there and there is lots of footage and results showing how bad they are at modern warfare. They may have been good warriors in the 18th century but not today. Don't believe all the folklore you hear...

The Russian (NCO)? Wearing a camouflage pattern beret I think maybe from a airborne ,Spetznat unit. The other Russian wearing the camouflage jump suit also of these units. In other words the lads in the trenches are in good company and clearly well led.
The way that they are refilling their magazines is a bit inefficient, they should have stripper clips of 10+ rounds that can fill a 30 rd magazine in seconds, instead of having to scramble around in a wooden box full of loose ammunition and loading each round separately. If you imagine that you are under fire and desperately trying to reload your rifle, virtually every second can count. Also imagine trying to pick out 30 individual cartridges from an open box at dusk, or in the rain, or even in the middle of a Russian winter.. The troops should have made sure that they were carrying at least 8-10 magazines each, and extra ready loaded magazines carried in the APCs, but the Russian military should have made a quicker and easier way of reloading while under stress in the middle of a firefight. I'm surprised that an army like Russia's still operates like this, but the situation has probably changed in the last 25 years.
True, but you have to remember that the Russian army was under trained during the early 90s and had sub par logistics during the war partially due to the recent collapse of the U.S.S.R.
Transitioning from the Soviet Union to Russia was not very smooth. As a result many troops never got and extra magazines, and I doubt there would be any stripper clips. But I'm pretty sure the RUssian army is back to world standards now.
Надеюсь всем этим отважным солдатам дали героев России. Столько травы и кустарников положили, аж дух захватывает. Как говорится, заставь попа молиться))

Is this a training exercise? Because the guy looking back at the camera smiling kind of gave it away plus no soldier would want to burn up his barrel and hand guard like that in combat and even risk a cook off. But that was badass seeing that dude using the sling like that. I had to go outback and try to bumpfire like that but it kept on going to the right😂
It’s the sort of thing that would have been staged for the camera. They may have had an excess of ammunition that hadn’t been used in a previous contact, and this fire-power demonstration would have been a good way for some very bored troops to let off some steam and have some fun.

"...if they think they can conquer us by force...then the war is only beginning" Those words didn't really work out did they. If anything the Chechen war help expose all the weaknesses in the Russian military which they then started to fix. They also learnt to keep the war in the shadows. Today, Russians are still there and they've learnt what they needed to learn to keep control of the area.
Liam That was the first war they won it and they had independece. The russians won the second one. It was not about keeping the control of the area but more about the oil and the ressources of Chechnya. The russians did not really become better but the second time they had paid many traitors from Chechnya , Kadyrov Allies turning on the pro russian side. And they had much more aircraft.
Their is still an insurgency in the region. Now Ukraine has exposed even bigger weaknesses and lack of capabilities. Good to see only one person understand the comment. You must all advise the Russian Ministry of Defence with their current performance. Don't believe your own hype an successes. They hid the true deep rooted problems.
