So happy to find you. Been struggling between deciding BBCSO Core, Abbey Rd, Albion and more. Have just got M1 Mac so Kontakt not supported ... yet. So need libraries that don’t need Kontakt. Your videos are really informative thank you so much. Kate

It sounds pretty damn great to my ears. Very realistic and expressive. A library you can feel. Glad I've pre-ordered it 👌

Great preview. Well done. I really like the lows in this library. The part you play around 6:30 to 7:00. Wow. How do you feel this compares to BBCSO Core?

Hi Mark, thanks for the support. The libraries (BBC & Abbey Road ONE OF) are very different not only do they have different sounds, but they have different focus. Where as the BBC series is geared towards providing a virtual orchestra for writing out traditional orchestra parts, Abbey Road ONE series thus far appears to be an ensemble and scoring tool. BBC has individual instruments for each player/section where as Abbey Road focuses on pre-orchestrated ensembles (hi & low strings winds, low brass all in one etc)

@@SampleLibraryReviews I own BBC Pro, how easy do you think it will be to mix the two? I know they are different spaces, but I like the quick flexability of ABBY as an ensamble tool vs the amount of work I have to put in with BBC for quick turn simple projects.
@Seafox0011
@Seafox0011 3 года назад
@@MrMoviePhoneEx Probably depends on how well the spaces mix - harmonic reverb etc might cause some phase cancellation - mudding the sound maybe. A case of experimentation will provide the answer.

@@Seafox0011 Christian over at Spitfire address this very question in his comparison video between Albion 1, BBCSO, and Abbey - short answer is, not an issue :)

I like the room. Yes do a comparison. Though Spitfire has said it, I feel like this is a replacement for the Albion series.

Don, I'm hearing a high pitched hiss (almost like white noise that has made it past a high-pass filter), particularly on the percussion samples. Is that something you're hearing on your end, or do you think that's just the luck of the RU-vid encoder?
@SampleLibraryReviews
@SampleLibraryReviews 3 года назад
Hey Jeremy, I can confirm it is on the original video capture when I crack up the volume really really high. It sounds like a noise gate/compressor kicking in on the instrument maybe? I doubt it is the sample set. I will get back to comment on this once the instrument to see if it is the programming

Hi Jeremy, good news, just updated to a pre-release version 1.02 and what ever was in the compression chain has been altered so I am no longer hearing the compressed noise at the very tail. Ill share examples in upcoming Albion ONE vs Abbey Road ONe vs BBC video soon

@@SampleLibraryReviews I like how Spitfire do engineering updates on all their recent releases ironing out any inconstancies and technical pass-throughs. Even on the Discover BBC SO pack updates were made soon after the initial release.

Is this complementary to something like nucleus or the orchestra complete 2 or would you get this in place of one of those two?
@SampleLibraryReviews

Hi Chris, IMHO this kind of instrument is ideal for sketching with high/low stings winds and 3 simple brass instruments. However, just like Spitfire's fan-fav Albion ONE, this has such a high quality of sound that it can be used in final mixes. I think ensembles like this are key for beginers coming from rock/pop or electronic as well as for those composing with out great orchestration skills. The limitations of just ensembles is obvious - no custom orchertation, no soloists, etc but Its sounds great with just a few notes and that makes this kind of ensemble instrument great for 70% of composers and producers out there.

Hi Chris, thanks for the review, it's really helpful. I was wondering, do you think it's best to buy BBCSO or to wait for more Abbey Road products? I understand they are different in terms of flexibility and price, but I gotta say I love the Abbey Road One sound, it sounds so expensive. I've also read many bad reviews about BBCSO due to the RAM use, and some instruments like brass and winds sounding quite bad and unreal. Would love a detailed comparison between the two? Thanks so much

I mean BBCSO Pro vs Abbey Road One and future Abbey Road products
@Seafox0011
@Seafox0011 3 года назад
@@Berangerofficial It probably first depends on what you want to use these packs for ... BBCSO is designed for full orchestration and composition. Abbey Road One is more a sketching tool - and as such both uses and scope are reflected in the price.

Ignorant comment which reflects the whole attitude to sample libraries. You don't "play" an orchestra library which is why there are a million guys like you out there thinking you are composing music. (all sending the same stuff to film/media companies who are bored out of their heads listening to the same stuff). You ain't. You are simply compositing the digital performance and recording that was essentially "composed " by the library makers - even if they are just sustained notes. This is the reason why everyone thinks they are sounding like John Williams etc if they buy this library. You don't. You sound like the million others playing a keyboard fumbling around with your fingers waiting for that special sound AFTER the crappy transition plastic sound of one note going to the next. Even Abbey Road (which I bought) cannot evade it because it is impossible to play a violin on a keyboard no matter how good the legato patches - our best shot is to try and fool the human ear and good luck with that. So many calling themselves composers now (who thinks a Grand Staff is a big stick) because their monitors are outputting digital/analogue string sounds after they play the Chord of C major on their keyboard. Here's a tip - go into a big church and pull out all the stops of the church organ and just play the chord of C for 5 seconds - then you can call yourself a concert organist because the sound will be loud and harmonic and everyone will think your great. (until you have to play the next chord that is!) Dream on and play what you can play.
