MEDA 110, summer 2020, mesa college: your videos are so diverse, with so many different concepts- biology and chemistry, and physiology, and anatomy! so great.
This was such an educational video, Professor Givon! I love how you incorporated anatomy and physiology along with chemistry in your educational videos. This is absolutely a MUST-HAVE when studying for the ATI TEAS Exam. Even though I took chemistry recently, I still get confused with covalent and ionic bonds!
Before watching this video I knew very little about chemical bonds. Something I appreciate is how in this video it was broken down into the basic information to better understand it for someone who knows nothing about chemical bonds.
I learned the difference between covalent bonds and the ionic. The covalent shares and the ionic transfers electrons. This video did a good job at explaining chemical bonds.
Meda 55 2020 HEY PROFESSOR , great video learned the differences about bonds and actually something new. never knew hydrogen gas was a non metal. one other thing I wanted to share was that non metal + non metal is considered to be a covalent bond the sharing of electrons and that non metal + metal is a ionic bond that transfer electrons.
Awesome video! I learned all about chemical bonds in this video. I learned about the covalent and ionic bonds, covalent is the sharing of electrons whereas ionic transfer the electrons. Covalent is a combination of nonmetal with a nonmetal, whereas ionic is a combination of nonmetal with metal. I also learned that there are two types of covalent bonds which are nonpolar and polar. This video helped teach me all about chemical bonds. I honestly did not know much about chemical bonds before this video. Thank you for teaching me all about chemical bonds!!!
Learning about the different types of chemical bonds in chemistry class always confused me a bit, so this video was great clarification of them and helped me learn to differentiate between them.
Thanks for this refresher on important topics in chemistry. These concepts always seem to come up when taking science courses. I better under at and this after watching your video.
Honestly, I don't have any idea about chemical bonds before.. This video helps to understand some part of chemistry, anatomy and physiology as well! Really informative video! :)
This isn’t a difficult topic necessarily, but the terms always mixed me up when I was first learning this. I think it’s hard to visualize. I associated other words to help me nail these concepts down: covalent bonds coexist and share or give electrons. They are polar (dipole movement like “polar opposites”) and non polar (dipole moment are “not polar opposites”) and covalent bonds coexist as 2 non metals together. Silly but it helps!
43017 MEDA 55 Fall 2020: Thank you for going over a lot in your videos. I know I will need this information for next semester. I will be coming back to your videos for future classes.
MESA_MEDA110 Fall 2020: This One, i can say, i do remember from high school! i feel more comfortable now that i understand a little easier than before! i think the subject of chemistry is easier to me than biology haha, i wonder why that is? either way, the video is helpful in bringing up stuff i studied before and expanding on it! thank you!
