Chevy Bolt EV - Charge Port LED Light 

They are called AMP 1.5 MM Superseal connectors from TE Connectivity.

This is a nice walk-through, thank you. I have only ever been interested in having a little illumination on the plug to aid with plugging in at night. I might try this with a short piece of LED strip instead of lining the entire circumference. Thank you!

I just tried this with my 23 EUV. A very difficult task that I failed at. The battery tray has 5 wire harness clips on it that are very hard to remove. Also the positive cable is between the tray and a bracket which requires the tray to be shimmied out. There are 2 connectors attached to the cpu. The 2 1.5mm pins are extremely hard to get all the way into the connector. The first 3 tries they broke off. The 23 bolt euv uses pins 6 and 7. Everything went back together fairly easily. The biggest problem was soldering the wire onto the led strip. After 6 or 7 tries, I gave up. They kept coming undone when trying to stick the strip to the interior of the charge port. I wish everyone good luck

Cool mod but a bit daunting. I would also be interested in buying completed kit if you get that option. My solution was tiny stick on LED light but I love that yours is more synced with dash charging light.

Looks good! Have you thought about getting one of those GoPro-type head mounted brackets for your camera so you can have both hands free while recording? This way we could see the whole process.

I've been wondering wiring for heated seats, especially rear seat on the refresh, not even an option on boly EV, but was on the earlier models.

Do you have a reference for the pin locations for a 2023 EUV? This is well within my wheelhouse of skills (I used to do alarm/remote start installations) and I'd like to add it to my Bolt.

If you have extra connectors and LED rope, might want to pre-make some kits to sell???

What's the voltage at the pin header? That determines your LED configuration. I'm thinking why do we need a light all the way around the plug, all that's needed is an LED or two, that's plenty of light.

In your video there is only the cpu to remove from the battery tray. My 2020 bolt has five different wire harness clipped to the battery tray. Do you know the proper technique to remove these wire harness clips? Thanks for the video

I just purchased a 2023 bolt euv, and I disassembled it to get to the harness. I noticed that the plug has the wiring installed already. Do you happen to know where the end of the harness ends up?
