Another installment of the affordable gear playlist.
For those on a budget, looking for throw down or pass-out gear or maybe something light and minimalist to throw in a get-home-bag. This is a viable option. The whole rig was bought, shipped and modified to its current state for less than $20.

Great mod. Good attention to detail and an overall improvement IMO.

Are you serious? These things were made for tiny people and it gets in the way of your arms? My resigned rig for me would probably wrap around you. Granted I am 6'5 and built bigger than the guy playing REACHER. That said your mods look good. I personally would add a knife and compact blowout kit to your rig. Did you use the trick of soaking it and forcing magazines in so it would stretch to hold an extra mag in each cell?

I'm 6'3 built like a dump truck with a 54" chest. That means even with the shoulder straps fully extended, this rides super high and forces the wings of this rig high into my armpits and puts those little pouches between my arms and nipples.......because it was built for little people.... like you said. This is pass out/throwdown gear I was accumulating for a while. It gave me something to tinker with. I wasn't intending any of these to be for me or any sort of go-to gear for whatever. I have plenty of other options.

Just wondering what method of sewing you used to affix the waist strap with. I'm trying to do a similar mod, but fear my sewing machine cannot handle how thick the material is.

Riley Townrow I used a old sewing machine and made multiple passes across the strap in two lines about a inch apart. Then connected the ends of those lines in a X pattern with multiple passes.

The back strap; Can you post a link to the clamps (not the tri-glides) that you installed on this? And what are they called?

Just search for "1" plastic buckle" on amazon. It's just cheap chinese parts.........which kinda goes with the rest of the rig.

Any videos showing the stitching process or your setup?

I stitched these by hand. I was later given a Singer 99 from the 1930's that still runs like a top. I've been using that since. The purpose of these (for me) are more pass-out/throwdown gear if the S ever HTF's. I have a few more rifles than I can use myself. It's a small investment to be able to equip family and friends. I like to have a certain amount of mags, ammo and a method to carry it for each rifle I own. This is my personal gear as of now, its nothing like this video.......ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BeqTn7JHi90.html
