Using mine for an AR. Had to add some plastic blocks I fabricated to raise the mags up. Left the toggles, but tuck the flaps when Im getting ready to shoot. Definitely changed my strap in the back. Actually a great rig for home defense, scouting, or as a minuteman rig supplemented with a small to medium pack. Mine also works great stacked over a slick plate carrier.
the blocks are a good idea, however may be a waste of space consider paracord bundles, batteries, small boxes of loose ammo, etc anything you don't need at immediately but can still be useful whilst still raising your mag up
Slick! I especially like the addition of that fastex buckle on the back. You should be able to find those for $1 or $2 on Amazon or a lot of camping supply sites/stores.
Thanks for your vid. I got one for $15 incl shipping on ebay and use it for my AR. Cut and fit foam blocks in the bottom so the bottom of the mags set above the top of the pouch. Did the same with a type 81. The type 56 also works pretty well for Ruger 10/22 25 rd mags. Thanks again.
Nice. Thanks for the input on a additional mod. I'd actually considered that. glad to hear it works. I did another video on a Type-81. Didn't like the side pouches and put molle webbing in their place.
Yup, I saw that one. I'm waiting on a Type 79 that looks like it might work even better for 10/22 mags and maybe the new Redball 20 rd mags for the Hi-Point Carbine. I'll keep ya posted.
