That's good to know. I have 2 Chibsons so far, a Zakk Wylde Vertigo Les Paul and a creme Gibson SG Les Paul Custom copy with 3 pickups. I love both!

@@FultonStreetBeats Glad to be here. Yeah, with Ali Express full satisfaction guarantee you can’t go wrong. When I asked for the long neck tenon I had to explain with photos what I wanted, the additional cost was only $15! If only Gibson could match that price…LOL I’ve ordered three (3) custom build guitars, if the build quality is good the only other problem is the fret wire material, it’s the same Epiphone uses. And to be honest, I ordered my instruments only partially completed, I mounted all the hardware, did the wiring and then leveled the fret followed by crowning, polish and complete setup. The guitars I ended up with are fantastic (IMO). It was a really fun exercise which allowed me to own custom guitars I otherwise couldn’t/wouldn’t afford. 👍😉

the blue sparkle really carries the huge ace rocknroll persona, one of the greats of all time. an amateur luthier buddy of mine likes the burst better, the trademark ace blue is more appropriate to the tribute imo.

What's nice about this one is Gibson never put this ACE style into production. Only Ace got the prototypes. They did make a subdued Epiphone version though. The Gibsons you see for sale are made to look like this by other people. Gibson never did it. So it makes it even cooler 😎

Found another seller (of the many with this particular guitar) it's the only one I've found with the sparkle pup covers so might give it a shot they have a lot of previous sales with good feedback going to do a little bit more investigating and then maybe pull the trigger

Everything came this way. Still zero mods.

if you look carefully at the sellers’ pics, some show all chrome- or metal- finished hardware, others show white finish. at about a $40 difference in the price. i haven’t purchased yet, waiting for that clip on how to spec order comes out…

Unfortunately, I don't. I would like a few extra on hand also.

They make adaptors to run a Gibson AB1 bridge. The holes for the stud posts are larger on Asian guitars. Most things are compatible with some tweeking. The SG compatibility is a bit more difficult with pickguards but can still be done with modifications. As far as pots and wiring goes. The only thing that will not work is the drop in plates. The hole spacing is a bit different. But if your just going old school Gibson pots, they fit fine. I use the plug and play Epiphone probuckers on lots of guitars, and they have push pull pots. I get them on Amazon cheap. But you may have to enlarge the wire routing hole a bit to fit the plugs. Amazing kit though. Here's the link. amzn.to/3OTfnc1 super cheap and everything you need.

@@FultonStreetBeats Thanks for the link. Yeah, the Epiphone Probuckers are $99 for 2. I need 3 for my SG, so I'd have to buy 2 sets. Not a problem. If I go the Gibson route, the 57 Classic Plus pickups (gold) are $169.00 a pop !!! Times 3 is $507.00 !!! OUCH. Epiphone is good !!!

Bridge - down. Center - all three. Up - center and neck. No Coil split.

Lol. I can see why some would think that. Then some of us absolutely love the finish. Seeing ACE's prototype under stage lights for the first time was amazing. I always needed one after that. This is as close as I can get. 🙂

Epiphone made one. Gibson did not. But the Epiphone was not as bling as the prototype Gibson made for ACE. Many actual Gibsons have been modified to look like the prototype (artist proofs). However, Gibson never produced the guitar. They went with Ace Frehley Budokan instead.

I actually have complete full plays of this guitar doing what it was designed for.

Fortunately, now you can find them already in the States. A lot of Ebay or Aliexpress vendors have them here. Just look at the shipping times. If it 10 days or less, it's usually good to go. Also, make sure the scores are high for the sellers, with quite a few sales under their belt. DH gate can definitely be problematic. Also stay away from the seller JUGGS GUITARS. very poor ratings, no communication, and he uses pics of real guitars and not of the ones they sell.

Say you are an Ace Frehley fan... and want a guitar that captures memorabilia for your personal tastes. Well, you very well can't go and buy a guitar that is in the thousands on a working man's income. In this case, Gibson never put this guitar into production, except for prototype s that went to ACE himself. So it's unobtainable. Most replica guitars are done of signature guitars that the avg person who is a fan of a particular artist can not afford. So this is why. Because people want to emulate what their favorite artist plays. Now that being said. The quality has nothing to do with the name on the headstock. These guitars can be ordered with no name. But that's not what fans want. Also to be clear these guitars are 80-90 percent different than a Gibson when you start looking. Tuners are in different locations. All of the electronics are different. All of the hardware is different. Materials are different. Thank does not mean they are bad. That means they are not exact intentionally. Now we can take a guitar that was built for Slash by as an example . It was as close to a Gibson as you will ever see. It even had a Gibson logo. Now that's the scary guitars. Because no one could tell the difference. Or here is the other example. James Hetfield played a fake Gibson Flying V. And still does. It was said in his own words that it is his favorite guitar and will probably be buried with him. There is no magic in guitars. Chinese guitar can be fantastic regardless of what the gear snobs tell anyone. And the last thing is corporate interests. As consumers we should worry about what we are getting for our money. Not what corporate interests think. They do not have your back when they sell you a 4k guitar that is full of QC issues. This is why people buy these. The majority of people just want a decent guitar that reminds them of their favorite artists. And if we are to be totally honest, famous artists play what they get for free and pays them the most for endorsement. That's why guitar players flop around to different brands every other year, like Dave Mustaine. It's all an illusion. Lastly these same chibson builders do make brands that you have heard of also. Chibson is not their only cup of tea. Things are very different in China, and in other parts of the world. Why did Gibson feel the need to build a Epiphone Greeny with a Gibson headstock? Because there was a demand for a lower cost Greeny that had the Gibson headstock. Why do the Chinese build Chibsons? Simple because people can afford them and want them. CNC has made the build quality much better than ever before. A CNC machine doesn't know if it's in the USA or in China. It just does what it's supposed to do.
