Banana bread french toast? That would be cake, dipped in eggs, fried in butter, drowned in sirup, butter and nuts. So......there's no ice cream to put on top of that?
Agreed, but only in our own neighborhood. I was a child then and people were more supportive. I think the feeling was the same for everyone, wherever you lived.
The 50's was before they put the freeways through the Black neighborhoods, and called it "urban renewal." Should have kept the old streetcars, and the neighborhoods as they were. Cars wrecked the cities, IMO.
My grandmother was born in the early 50s . She told me how she couldn’t sit down in the dinners and how they had to stand up the whole time eating . While whites could sit down and eat . I don’t think people were all that nice back in the day .
