Chucky in this film is both an animatronic and a little person. Certain shots were a little person, like the shot of the burning doll holding a knife over Andy, or the shot of him walking up the stairs to the psych ward. Most of it was animatronics, and there's a behind the scenes of it which is really cool. If you also noticed, the doll got more human like in its physical appearance as the movie went on, like him gaining a unibrow and his skin looking less shiny. You should react to the second film because it's pretty good and chucky has more one-liners in that film!
The great thing this franchise, reboot aside, is that it's all from the same guy. Even the TV show is done by him. It's the only classic horror franchise that can say that. Loved your reactions and I hope you stick with the series despite the lows it goes through in the middle.
Childs play 1 was created by john lafia, Tom Holland and last Don Mancini..so no, the story ,the idea and the creation was from 3 men..not only Don Mancini..and that's why the first movie was so good cause it wasn't just don Mancini.. also tom holland was the director of the first movie..don Mancini just destroyed the franchise after childs play 3 ,he made chucky to have straight to dvd movies and now chucky has a messy TV series in a low quality channel...Don destroyed chucky's legacy..
@@florifatsarino2982 honestly I've been having a Chucky marathon and realized that not only I've seem every movie up to Curse of Chucky, I remembered so much of them because they are really good, each one in their own way. I've seen the series too, it got a lot of potential, it's fun, funny and kinda creepy and sooooo gay which is a great cherry on top
The main detective, Mike Norris, played by Chris Sarandon, was actually the speaking voice for Jack Skellington on The Nightmare Before Christmas. Also he is Prince Humperdinck on the Princess Bride. And I should mention that Brad Dourif is an underrated actor himself.
interesting fact about Child's Play. the serial killer who put himself inside the doll Charles Lee Ray (aka Chucky) was named after three real life murderers: Charles Manson, Lee Harvey Oswald (the guy who assassinated Kennedy) and James Earl Ray (the guy who assassinated Martin Luther King). the name of the series is Child's Play...but the name of the killer is Chucky (or Charles Lee Ray) but his title was The Lakeshore Strangler. before becoming a doll he killed 12 people. the Good Guy dolls were made by the Play Pals Toy Company who feature more in Child's Play 2 & 3 because in their greedy and arrogant attempts to cover up the events of #1 they only cause things to get worse. Chucky is a great villain not because he just goes around killing like Jason Voorhees or Michael Myers...he is legend because he manipulates and makes everything look like other people did it. after all who is going to think a doll is killing people. the only mistake Chucky made in the first film was not putting his batteries in...if he hadn't fu%$ed that up he would have done great. in the 80's a kid could probably get around a city much easier...people mind their own business and don't really give a fu%$ if a kid is wandering around with a doll. as for the school well...thye were less secure in those days.
No 6-year-old wants clothes for their birthday. You might as well make dinner that night too and pretend THAT'S a birthday gift. At that age, clothes are just something mom buys when you need them. They don't start caring about dressing in a certain style or wanting specific clothes until they're older. Practical things only count as gifts when you reach the age where you have to buy these things with your own money.
@@Puggapillar You are too fun. I hope when you start getting alot of subs you won't forget us little people who always gave you shit and you will still take time to give us shit right back
I rememeber my mom telling me that when she saw this in theaters, in the scene where chucky finally reveals himself, everyone in the theater lost their shit
It is movie magic and they used animatronics, puppetry, and a real little person. Which means they had to use oversized sets to make him appear as small as the doll. And there was no CGI per se but there were computer alterations to make his lip flaps match the spoken dialogue. But if it did have CGI back then and if the whole movie was done in it it will be noticeably easy to tell it wasn't really there. Modern day Hollywood forgot this art form. Like a magician whose job it is to convince the audience that magic is real instead of just being sleight of hand.
It's Ed Gale in the costume. He is a little person. He's an actor with quite a long list of credits. He's actually gonna be at a signing convention in Jersey this year.
The cool thing about this movie is it’s the the *ONLY* One where you see Chuckys physical appearance change over the course of the film. His hair color changes from bright Orange to a darker one almost brown, his hairline begins to recede, his eyebrows change, and so do his facial feature. Just a cool little detail I thought I should mention.
You need to watch the rest! They turn into horror-comedies that really do make you root for Chucky, haha. And all of them are connected (except for the 2019 remake, you can ignore that one), and the TV series will continue the story of the main series!
Andy is in Child's Play 2, and 3. Bride of Chucky is 4, Seed of Chucky is 5, Curse of Chucky is 6 Andy returns in post-credit scene (same actor) and Cult of Chucky is 7 with Andy too. The new Chucky TV series will pick up right after Cult of Chucky.
Everyone else when Andy is crying: awww what an adorable kid :( Puggapillar when Andy is crying: how do you know he’s gonna kill you though Andy? You don’t know anything about the plot he’s you’re best friend.
It's an apartment complex, she don't care about the property value lol. The best line was about the toy company making these dolls to last lmao great reaction
24:38 Andy back at the police station: "He said not to tell anyone about him or he'd kill me." So I assume at some point between the explosion and then, Chucky dropped the friendly act and whispered that to him.
Cmon the kid is 6😂 Edit: revisiting this after seed and honestly the kids performance at the hospital is really good despite all the other awful acting
24:50 actually that scene in particular was a small person in the costume🤣🤣 Mostly all scenes were an animatronic but certain scenes like up Steps and that bed scene are mainly it for a costume
I feel like a lot of people hate Andy because he acts like a child. Like there aren’t a lot of movies where the main character is a six year old so you don’t often get to see how a child understands and processes things. It might be a little annoying because as an adult you know exactly what Andy should do but he doesn’t. Because he’s six.
This just shows me adults are just as stüpid. If you were ACTUALLY a sane adult, you'd know that a literal child...needs to act like a literal child, because they are a literal child. It's really not that annoying when you were literally a kid. You were allowed to make mistakes and not know things as a child, so why are these same people hating on a kid for his moment of being a kid? It's so unfair. It's like not knowing the birds and the bees as a kid, and then after you grow up, you laugh at ANOTHER kid for not knowing what it meant..which is ridiculous, because there is no possible way for a child to know something they were never taught.
The older i get, the better this movie is out of all of them. Should have Stayed true to this story with Childs play 2-3. Bringing back the Detectives, and mom. Feel like the characters never got the proper ending for there being multiple sequels. Btw a small person was really walking around in costume, during some of these scenes. The one scene where you mentioned it for starters
I don’t know…uh. Just…just I’m doing okay I think toda-today’s kind of a good day. I think. Also Chucky is played by actual people in some scenes 😎 sometimes it’s little person Ed Gale, and for some scenes it was a 2-year old boy
@@hendrikjansen7130 it’s just a movie. And he is just making jokes. It’s not that deep. There were a lot of things done that were ridiculous even for a little kid. It’s ok to make jokes about it.
Puggapillar: "Dude did one barrel roll under the couch and fucking died". Me: "I stepped over 1 curb amd got a fracture". For real though thank you for making content and the fracture i mentioned happened really recently and this made me a lot haplier.
@@Puggapillar You Should Watch The Carrie Movie Franchise Man They're Really Good Its bout A Shy Girl With Telekinesis Who Gets Bullied in High School Its Called Carrie
Actually both human and animatronic, many animatronics did different actions, one was used for Chucky wiggling around while he was on fire on the couch, the human variation was used for scenes that the animatronic can't
So, i was a weird child because i loved watching scary movies because when i was 5 my aunt let me watch this and i fell in love with scary movies and didnt get scared by them lol smh
You should see the list of things I haven't seen horror wise! After I walked in on a scene in Nightmare on Elm Street when I was like 11, I never went anywhere near the genre again until recently. I didn't sleep for like 2 weeks 😭
In some scenes, the person who was actually in that good guy costume was Ed Gale, who recently was outed as a child predator for attempting to solicit someone who he thought was a 14-year-old boy. So technically he got Chris Hansen’d by an internet RU-vid catch a predator group
As far as i know chucky was just an animateonic. the only time it was a little person was the scene where andy looks out the window of the hospital walkijg up the stairs.
Great reaction this was the 2nd Chucky movie I saw I saw Childs Play 2 then 1 then 3 then Bride Of Chucky then Curse Of Chucky and Cult of Chucky then I saw the one Childs Play 2019 one !
There is an american rock band named Ice Nine Kills that released "Assault and Batteries", a bit heavy but if you enjoyed the movie might be worth a watch.
@@Puggapillar Yesss!!!! or within the next few days or weeks!!!! When i watched the 1st one the 1st time i managed to watch the sequels within like 3 or 4 days (that was a few years ago when "Seed of Chucky" was the last sequel at the time and now they have "Curse of Chucky" and "Cult of Chucky")!!!!! All great films and the remake is great too!!!!
You really hate Andy. 🤣🤣🤣!!! Come on! He's a sweet little guy. 😊 If you had a son like my sister you'd might come to appreciate Andy. I love my nephew but he's a little Chucky. He's only two years old though, so maybe its just a phase. I really do hope so, because he loves punching faces. No exaggeration he knows how to punch. Don't know where he learned it from. He whacked his mommy, great-grandma, grandma, grandpa, and even his Doctor. He hasn't boxed my face yet. He just hates being picked up.
@@Puggapillar I am watching your child’s play 3 video right now. And I still find it entertaining. Dumb movies are the best haha. I love watching them and laughing at them. 😂
I only found this channel yesterday and I've watched all of your videos 🤣you've no idea how happy it makes me to see an honest, funny RU-vidr nowadays. Please keep making these videos Also I think an Elm Street series or a Freddy vs Jason review would be hilarious 👍👍👍
