Sam is short for Samhain, aka the spirit of Halloween. Which is what Rhonda was talking about, pronounced how she says it, Saw-win, or Sol-win not 100% sure myself. So I. Short, Sam is the Spirit of Halloween which is why he’s pissed when you break the rules of Halloween.

Trick R Treat is an anthology story about Halloween and how certain people celebrate it 1st story is about a serial killer and his son 2nd story is about well a ghost story 3rd is the R version of Little Red Riding Hood and her big bad wolf 4th story is about the spirit of Halloween, Sam

**Treat** for you. Next Halloween, you have got to check out the classic film which is a Stephen King/George A Romero collab called "Creepshow". It has five separate creepy stories with a star studded cast. I think you'd enjoy it! On a serious note: I totally lost it when you added in the short clip of old Steve Rogers saying "I don't think I will".

You aren’t far off. He enforces the rules of Halloween. (Not taking down decorations, having pumpkins, giving out candy, etc.) If you break the rules, he has to punish you. But if you follow the rules he lets you enjoy the night.

Love this movie! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I discovered it maybe a year or two after it came out and immediately went out and bought the Blu-ray. It's worked it's way into my yearly Spooky season traditions like Hocus Pocus. It's just so much fun for this time of year. I'm so glad it's started getting the cult following it deserves.

It is a really good movie and a fun fact Trick 'r Treat was straight to DVD release never went to theaters until 2022. The first week in October it went into theaters for a limited time with a limited release with Flash Back Cinema and some theaters just cause lol it is weird but it is really cool and a second movie is possibly in the works!

Sadly the dog had to die because the writer and director. Didn't want people liking Sam too much. That's why when Sam is getting off the principals porch in the first story. You can hear a cat making sounds when his burlap sack hits the steps. The kid that looks in the dressing room is the same kid that plays. Sam for most of the movie all except for stunt an fight scenes. That's why that part was added because he like the kids acting. So he wanted a scene in the movie that you can actually see his face. Because he is in the Sam costume and makeup. All of the rest of the movie the idea of Sams head is in. The Director and writers own words a fetus skull combined with a pumpkin.

I know this is a few years old but this is my favorite Halloween movie. So many twists and turns and each story is so good. Sam is indeed the cutest little guy. Just make sure you give him candy on Halloween and never ever take your decorations down before the night is over. Sam will come and visit you if you do. This is the best anthropology. I just found your channel so I'm going back and watching previous reviews.

If I remember the director's commentary right he said that all the child murder in the film made it difficult for it to get a rating for theatrical release. So in early October 2009 it finally got an American release on unrated direct-to-DVD, with British and Australian releases later in the month. Hence the cult following. I caught it immediately on its DVD release and was instantly charmed. I don't know how autumns are in Australia, but if you're American and live in parts of the country that fully experience the seasons it's the perfect fall/Halloween movie.
