Children should be raised with LOVE, these children are being raised with hateful language that they obviously don't comprehend. Children should be raised by example of kindness, not by example of hate. . My heart goes out to these innocent children.

1:04 Noah has left the church now :) him, his other siblings and ex-members seemed to have maintained close relationships. I've seen some of them on social media. They're all very demonstratively supportive of LGBT+ now, as well as supportive other social causes. It's so beautiful to see them living not only normally, but positively. I'm so glad that they left, but also had a support system in each other. I think it's important to realise that Shirley is very much a victim in all this, she's never known anything different to what her father taught her - she is convinced of hell and that she's doing the right thing. So very sad. I used to hate her, but as an adult, I just see a damaged and psychological warped person. I did read that corporal punishment was often used by her father and that she has life long injuries. I hope that one day she'll see the true reality and reconnect with her many kids that have left. Honestly, the fact so many of the kids have left and now contribute positively is inspiring. Choose acceptance, tolerance and compassion.

I remember one of these kids had something thrown at them while they were protesting so I honestly don't know why child services has not taken them since the parents are putting them into dangerous situations. I guess it's ok now since most of them have left anyways.

I have a lot of empathy for Shirley..her dad was awful to them I'm sure and produced what you see here..I saw an interview where I saw a glimpse of humanity in her and I hope she breaks free and joins her estranged children if they can forgive her on that level. I remember this episode well, it stayed with me. It haunts you, especially when you re-visit it. I wonder how old those children are now and what they became?! It's tragic. That's the only word I can truly use - that justifies the whole egregious, morally-questionable practice of what they were doing. The fact she couldn't actually explain to the child, skipping around not-so-subtly the most obvious way of defining people they labelled 'fags', maybe for fear of some kind of reprisal of a not-so welcoming kind speaks volumes....it was ironic and heartbreaking simultaneously, and quite nefarious to tamper with such innocent minds that way, I'm amazed of the calm or stoicism of Louis in witnessing that, not sure I could have retained such self-control. These kids were clueless (thankfully then, but for how long..) and just like automatons were bundled around from picket to picket to hold signs and make up numbers. These people believed they were empowered by 'God' and doing righteous work, yet...you never saw them do it alone right?! Safety in numbers and all that....yeah, right. Cowards and spineless degenerates in the cold light of day. Truly terrifying, sad and immoral on all levels. Evil 'angels' alright....
