Yes, they definitely don't like to dry out but they will bounce back. They seem to do fine in our greenhouse when it gets above 100 but the greenhouses have nice humidity. So many factors.

Hi! Sorry I have never tried germinating seeds. I would recommend using a moist paper towel and see if you can get any to start to germinate in that warm, moist environment. I imagine you are not in the United States but if you happen to be I would recommend just purchasing the plant as they are grown from cutting so you will get fruit right away and save yourself a lot of time! Its hardy to right around 15 degrees F. Definitely doesn't need tropical weather to thrive just cant withstand extreme cold.

@@restoringedennursery3551, The duration of cold is often very important with plants. 15 degrees for two hours is not the same as 15 degrees for 24 hrs. Many plants that survive a brief 15 degrees with no issue will completely die at 30 degrees if it’s for a prolonged period.

hi! its likely they are only tolerant to around 10-15 degrees F. We never get quite that cold so we have yet to see them tested to that level.
